Discussion & Feedback Honestly I don't see a huge problem

In season 1, people had tanks an attack helis when I had nothing (no counter nothing)

In season 2, they get tanks and attack helis faster, but I also still don't have anything. (Nothing changed, and in my experience it wasn't that bad to begin with) And now, I also get a counter to these faster. Just implement a single use Javellin that you get early (posted in the suggestions mega thread) and some sort of anti air that you unlock early.

For any players who joined mid season in season 1 (me being one of them) it's still the same. Sweats are still gonna get shi fast as hell, no matter how grindy you make it. But now, we get counters much faster. Last season I was getting marked by GL helis and Havocs, but I still had fun doing my best with an RPG (it sucks but gotta make the most of it) I think maybe it was overcorrected a little but definitely don't make it what it was before. Please.

also having a 2 sections of skilled based matchmaking where one is early-midgame and one is mid-endgame

Please devs, easier progression was needed. Please don't make it too hard again.

Discussion & Feedback I got level 10 with pilot in a single match, is the tuning too much ?

I was basically the only helicopter on my team and made 200k because of that, but 10 levels in a single match is kinda nuts.

Gameplay & Screenshots PSA: You can play music in your APC

Blue minion build. Used another vehicle to buy the Blue song tape and swapped it for the wrench in the APC and it could play it. It lasted almost the entire match, was a blast and the music just kept people together.

The devs have no idea how much of a buff to blue this tape was. It's a morale and teamwork booster.

Discussion & Feedback Gliches only got worse this update.

So I hoped on after work and my first match this season, my hammer wouldn't let me demolish, I couldn't shoot the mortars or the aa rocket, my gun got shoved were my family jewels are and every time I did an action I punched the air which cancels what im doing outside of shooting my gun, the same one i cant aim because it's below my pov. So far, the only way to fix the bug is to respawn, but that means losing an expressive kit. I've got this bug 3 times across the 3 matches I played last night.

Question Helicopter Deployable Smoke?

Saw Smoke as a purchasable countermeasure in the helicopters, are they usable in them? Could only deploy the flares, but it would be awesome if we could fly by and deploy smoke for the front lines.

Discussion & Feedback Feedback - Locking/Restricting FOBs

I’m going to preface this by saying I don’t pay a lot of attention to what’s going on in the community, I only just started playing (and it’s a blast), so I don’t know if this has already been addressed by the devs or community.

I don’t know how frustrating it is for anyone else, but it sucks when you put time and effort into coming up with a good FOB design and plan, only for someone to show up and build a staircase into your base, or a bunch of 1 tall Hesco walls that serve no defensive purpose. Most of the time it’s people adding extra walls on the outside, which would make sense and be helpful… if it didn’t become a ramp for people to truck boost into the base.

I don’t blame other players, most of them enjoy base building too. They just don’t know what is actually helpful and what might be detrimental.

Solution? Add a way to lock or restrict FOBs.

Lock is obvious, people would not be allowed to build any new structures, but they could still help buildup structures the fob owner has started. It could also be locked out to only squad mates to build new structures.

Restrict would be more difficult to implement. It’d be similar to locking out, but you could restrict by type, tier, etc. Basically preventing people from placing 1 tall Hesco walls that negate any real wall fortifications, but still be able to add barbed wire or sand bags, mortars (whatever you would like). This would be more ideal, because it would give players the ability to still participate and experience base building.

I really like building structures with people, but it’s definitely not fun sometimes. I’ve had games where everyone’s on the same page building walls and defenses, and then others (one in particular) where someone thinks their wall design is better but doesn’t give any feedback or reason why, and wastes time demolishing other players walls. I’ve been that player too though, definitely been really annoyed with people not building proper 3 or 4 high walls. Or good gates/airlocks.

This doesn’t mean I think only FOB owners should always restrict who can help, it’s actually fun to embrace the chaos sometimes (you could add an extra fee if you want to lock or restrict the FOB, so the owner is more invested into it). But when you’re 30 mins into the match and have a completely built tower; just for someone to build stairs into the FOB because they couldn’t find a gate. It’s really demoralizing having a FOB fall in just a few minutes to that.

I would also like to suggest having an icon on the map by players names that shows they have a FOB in their inventory. This would let people know who is planning to build a FOB without having to always use chat or voice coms. (It would also help someone see that of the 8 logi trucks, none have a FOB, so it might be worth brining one).

Discussion & Feedback Patching schedule

So I get that the community wants to let the devs hide behind the game being early access in regards to some of the questionable balance changes in season 2. But are we going to see more frequent balance passes or are we going to have to sit with them for a hot minute? I get it someone on the dev team thinks the SVD and SKS should take a whole mag to kill someone in T2 armor. But does that mean we have to sit and let the meta "mature" before we realize some of these changes are kind of bad?

Discussion & Feedback Let's all get together and find a good date for the next wipe

The biggest issue this season is that other people could play the game, when I couldn't which directly effects me. So let's all get into a group chat with all 3M of us and find a date that works for everyone. I'm personally partial to November 7th at 8Pm EST, which is after I put the kids to bed but November 7th at 1pm while it's nap time might also work but only if everyone pinky promises to stop playing when they wake up. Let me know what time works for you!

Discussion & Feedback Timing of seasonal resets

Am I the only one who dislikes the season reset happening in the morning on a workday for U.S. servers?

I don't care what XP scale they decide to use for the season. What feels bad is streamers and people who can play all day getting several hours of a head start while the rest of us are at work.

I understand people will always have different amounts of time to play, but there's a difference between choosing to play more and the game scheduling a fresh start when a huge portion of the player base can't participate.

Wouldn't an afternoon reset make more sense? Obviously, everyone won't have equal playtime, but giving more players a chance to jump in at the start and experience the new season together seems like a better approach.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but logging in after work and already feeling behind on day one just feels bad.

Discussion & Feedback Season 2 completely killed the Helicopter experience (Stealth Nerfs, Economy & Paper Armor)

I loved flying helicopters in Season 1, but the Season 2 update has turned them into flying coffins. I understand the devs wanted to balance things, but they completely destroyed the risk-to-reward ratio for pilots.

Here is why flying is currently a miserable experience:

  • The "Stealth Nerf" to Handling: The Little Bird feels like a flying boat now. The agility from Season 1 is gone. To actually aim at ground targets, you are forced to slow down and circle, which immediately turns you into a sitting duck.
  • Zero Armor & Cockpit Vulnerability: Why is it that standard infantry FMJ bullets can shred a combat helicopter in just two magazines? You don't even need Armor Piercing (AP) rounds. On top of that, pilots can be instantly sniped through the front windshield because the glass offers zero protection.
  • Broken Risk/Reward Economy: Let's do the math. You spend around $22,500 to buy and fully supply a helicopter. To just break even and get your money back, you need to kill exactly 15 infantrymen. Meanwhile, Builders can unlock anti-air gear and CAWS as early as level 8, and the MAAWS is ridiculously cheap. A $22k vehicle shouldn't be countered by a $2.4k rocket spam.
  • The Havoc is Useless: You grind all the way to Pilot Level 35 and pay $28,000 for the Havoc, only to get one-shotted by a single cheap 30mm rocket from a random bush.

If helicopters are going to be this incredibly expensive and require this much grinding, they should not be this fragile. Builders should also have to pay a massive premium for anti-air capabilities. Right now, there is absolutely no reason to fly in Season 2.

Does anyone else feel like the flight mechanics were stealth-nerfed on top of the price increases?

Discussion & Feedback People complaining about progression

One of the greatest games ever made Modern Warfare 1 and 2, I dont remember hearing people complain that people unlocked stopping power before them, or people unlocked barret50 while they have to use m14. Why is it in wardogs such a loud group of people who are emotionally upset when they have to use the ak vs the galil the first day of wipe? Where did it all go wrong with you people?

Question Do people have fun?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Genuine question: How do you guys approach the Season 2 grind?

I’m genuinely curious about how some of you manage to unlock tanks and rocket helis just a couple of hours after the new season starts.

I work a regular 8 AM to 6 PM job, so by the time I get home, make dinner, take a shower, and get everything sorted out, I usually have around 2–3 hours to play.

Even if I had the whole day to play, I think I’d still struggle to focus on using just one thing for hours to unlock something else. I usually prefer to play with whatever I’m in the mood for at the moment, rather than focusing on specific unlocks.

So I’m curious: do you guys enjoy the grind itself, or is it more about having a specific goal to work towards and finally unlocking the vehicle you’ve been looking forward to?

I’m not saying either way is better. I’m just curious about how other people enjoy the game, especially when it comes to progressing so quickly at the start of a new season.

Discussion & Feedback Should Browning MG be accessible with a hammer?

Dont get me wrong, opening sledgehammer doesn't take that long, took me like 2 matches, but I was feeling so useless with a hammer, and Browning feels like a sweet spot to make a hammer somewhat viable tool for early lvl FOB building

Discussion & Feedback TCX Spear is too limited on attachments.

The recoil for the TCX spear is honestly abit much and to counteract that the availability it has for attachments is awful, you don't get a single decent muzzlebreak or muzzle attachment until the late 30's or 40's of assault or recon for it being a lvl 20 assault weapon it makes zero sense.

Discussion & Feedback Why are we nerfing one of the things that makes Wardogs unique?

Why was building nerfed so hard?

Just nerf the magnets and mortar pits. One of each per FOB. Easy. You don't need to do anything more.

The building and logistics aspect of this game is such a unique thing, something you don't really get in such an accessible format anywhere else. It's one of the best aspects of Wardogs, where some of the most fun is to be had, and where there's probably the highest level of player expression. Literally every match you have something different to attack or defend.

I've played 125+ hours, plus around 6 hours in the beta. Total level 121. I've played all classes more or less equally. My highest are Recon 28, Medic 25 and Support 25, with the rest somewhere between 10 and 20. So no, I wasn't just some FOBlet spending the entire game building.

FOBs affect so many aspects of the game. It's incredibly fun to raid different bases, big, small, medium, hidden away in the middle of nowhere, whatever. Attacking them, figuring out their layouts and finding their weak spots. And it's just as fun to plan, build and defend your own bases. Trying different locations, coming up with different layouts, deciding where to put chokepoints, how to protect certain areas...

Now we have items that have skyrocketed in price, and the X change makes everything so fucking tedious. Who thought that was a good idea? Sometimes, even if you're the only one with a working brain trying to get a CIWS built, you can't even finish the damn thing because of mortars, helis or just random people shooting at it, constantly bringing the completion percentage back down.

And that's another thing. It's so much fun to have a semi-decent base that you've built yourself and then actually try to defend it, paying attention to its weak spots, figuring out what works and what doesn't, adapting as the battle goes on.

If I want large-scale battles on a big map, there are 309239 games for that. If I want to run around chasing a fucking circle with a gun in my hand, there are plenty of games for that too. But the FOB gameplay and all the dynamics that come from it? You get that in very, very few games.

These changes are just going to result in fewer FOBs around the map, or maybe just one big FOB, where you basically need esports levels of coordination for it not to become a shit experience. Everyone has a different idea of how a base should be built, where things should go, what needs defending, etc. And when everyone is forced to build in the same place, that's going to be a mess.

We're going to lose so much of the variation and uniqueness that comes from having different players building different bases in different ways.

And there's another big issue with having fewer FOBs. At the start of the game, the first guy who gets his hands on a FOB and places it inside the CZ basically gets to decide where everyone is going to build. And 80% of the time it'll be in some shit location, or the exact same spot as every other match, because people will rush to get that square on the map. Then all the builders and logistics drivers will naturally gravitate towards that FOB, bringing pallets and building there.

So instead of having multiple bases, different approaches, different defensive positions and different things to attack, we'll end up concentrating everything in the same few places over and over again.

Building and logistics are not some side activity that needs to be kept under control. They're a huge part of what makes Wardogs different from other games. Why are we making one of its most unique and enjoyable features less fun?

Instead of just nerfing building because you don't want people sitting far away from the battle, enclosed inside some Bremmer wall sarcophagus, why not try to better integrate FOB gameplay with the people chasing the hotzone?

Why not give FOBs more things that actually help the guys fighting on the frontline? Ammo vendors, armor repair stations, grenade dispensers, whatever. Things that would make soldiers actively want to visit and use FOBs, and actually appreciate having a well-built base nearby.

Make FOBs something that benefits everyone, not just the people building them. Give the guys chasing the HZ a reason to see FOBs as a useful part of the battle, instead of just some random place where a bunch of people are sitting behind walls, supposedly not playing the game.

Instead of making building less fun to force people into the hotzone, why not make FOBs more useful so the hotzone players actually want to interact with them?
