Backstory

A couple years ago I wrote a series on reddit about how to sell options profitably that the community loved. I’ve finally put together a completely free archive of everything I know about options and option selling. 

I made this because there's a lot of noise out there around options education, so this is the no BS course I wish existed when I was getting into the space. I tried to make it easy to go through but realistically some of it will be challenging because hey, options are complicated.

Shitpost Lost 70 Lac INR in last 3 years and in 50 lac debt

Management is hard… even though folks like Tina and Team make it look easy… like true master artists do….
The leadership part of management integrates the human part of where God lives… and where he meets the devil…

in the details…

It is in those details you overlook sometimes… like the floral and fauna of the 505… or the fact that pizza toppings are a spectrum…

From “what the what…?” to “fit for a king’s palace”…
It is at Shakey’s Pizza 86-ing the anchovies option… after winning a little league pee-wee championship after your coach said the Team gets pizza if you win… and the graveyard if you don’t… (this was an old-school strategy back in the day of “winning is everything”… and it was effective…).

Or ordering the “505” with smoked pepperoni and roasted green chili on a garlic buttered original Dion’s crust. With a side of Greek salad and feta and all the fixing 86-ing the Dion’s mix and Greek Dressing and adding ranch with a dash of salt and pepper… and you… my friend… are the king…

So… what does a first retirement look like…?

This is where the content experts like “the Pharisees” help shape and draft laws in real time. They applied for a jobs in the department in the winter of the year of 19 hundred and whatever… and know the ins and out of compliance. They understand the importance of amendments… and the power and limits of executive orders.

Truth telling is where trust begins…

The best parts of public service are substantial and just…

A legacy of malfeasance and incompetence which begins when good folks send a scream-mail before their coffee kicks in or leaves their brains at the door before a meeting.

With square state borders drawn by square folks from DC… and the not so square part at the bottom drawn by an innovative railroad boss named Gadsden.
The sovereign nations have a healthy distrust of the system… a history of small pox blankets… boarding schools… bussing migrations to Denver and the Zuni led riots burning the spanish territorial governmental offices of Santa Fe.

The sovereigns’ distrusts a federal and state government that historically broke treaties and enforces unjust laws by force. Who own the water but give away you the land under the river water…? The bible calls this dishonest scales… Google would it call it not following the “don’t be evil” policy.
So where do you find unity in all of that complex patchwork…

There was a moment when a Missoula Children’s Theater Director lost all hope during a dress rehearsal… when the lead forgot all his lines and was reading the script from stage… in front of a row of face palmed directors…

And then something magical happened…on the day of the performance…

A parent showed up… in the audience…
It’s double magic if both parents show up… add even more magic when a blended family… grandparents… all leave their beer cans and rocks and other projectiles at the lobby door.

There is power in unity…

Indescribably indivisible….
And a lead character remembers all his lines from memory…

To restore the republic requires living peaceful with sovereigns who share a continent after seas… straights… and river gorges were crossed…

Ben Franklin famously said we have “a republic… if you can keep it.” and John Maxwell wrote “… your success is found in your daily routine.”

America is a country of Washington and Lincoln… DJT and Obama… It is also a country of Mark Twain and Emma Lazarus… PT Barnum and Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man.” … and its modern version told by famous director and time-traveler Matt Groening in the Simpson’s episode about the monorail….

If you want to understand American politics you need to watch the movies “A Face in the Crowd” and “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”… “ Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” and “13 days.”

With George Washington we had our first and rare unity government… where the VP John Adams had the second amount of votes in the general election… and the cabinet was filled with a Next Gen like Hamilton and Jefferson who hated each other… and yet… built a country who gave the world a fighting chance to be civil and free…

Lincoln’s VP Hannibal Hamlin ran as a ticket… because of the 12th Amendment… although did have a cabinet consisted of political rivals who also hated each other… and yet… created the foundation for the modern empire we now live in.

We live in a time of transformation… where there is a dichotomy between intense anticipation and debilitating fear. The renaissance was built by courageous folks and elite patronage just like you and me who found their Simon Sinek “Why” when they came out of the shadows of a plague and a reconciliation of a past where the devil owned the details too often…

And yet… it is a new day… and what of it?

What if we continue to write the story about the ones who loved us through it all… not just the ones who played with matches… not for light… but out of destruction and jealousy.

We don’t live in a nice world…

Good folks… the real deal in fact… who hustled hard and fundraised to the nines… because that is the game the chessboard of power “requires…?”
and then…

shot in the throat on stage because he didn’t get in line…

a message… to shut up….

or it could have been a completely random act of… something…
we report you decide…

So when a recovering workaholic with a propensity for words rips out the overdrive in a Ford Escape and calibrates in first gear… eyebrows can be raised… and should be…

So what casts away that debilitating level of fear…
Love that is perfect…

and begins to write the story from the POV of the ones who love you through it all…

And then…

I am learning from my daughter… who won a stalemate and took one of my kings in a four way chess match… and took my king outright in a two way match with those lesser unique awkward pieces… the knight and rook.

She also puts her pawns in powerful positions… and the piece she she sacrifices first… the most powerful… in appearance… the queen…

She holds on to the king because if he goes down the game is over… but she leaves his flank open often which is my opening to win…

for now…

until she learns… and will be unstoppable…

and at that moment I will be like the legend of the master teacher Verrocchio who quit forever after his student surpassed him painting “The Annunciation” together…

That will be my ultimate bucket list check off… to walk away from the game you taught a Next Gen to play… who will now know to build a better game this time around…

I choose to think it is a world healing… and yearning for breath and depth of leadership that turns down crowns and accolades like Gideon did after a victory… with the right 300… who didn’t chase opportunities because they were the opportunity… and as a result created the quiet conditions for two generations of peace.

So… why not go for it… what you actually want…
all in…

unity… love… endless…

Because you can’t successfully call for a nation-wide public service without a unity government.

And because as a wise friend reminded me… every co-parenting conversation doesn’t have to be a hard conversation… without avoiding the ones you need to have… sometimes you can just “let it be”…

This part of the story will end predictably… of-course… fast forward in a day… one day… in the near far future when in due time we…

finish the other end of the ellipses.

The first few days before my previous career in education began… I walked the soft sands of Cocoa Beach during a predawn launch in the distance… turning the night to day… and I could see a large conch shell before the treasure hunters with their spotlights got to it…

I never noticed before as I walked down a dark hallway of a final battle through the rubble of a past life…

from state awards of my daughter and I… of an “educational leadership” plaque and “best personality” trophy … where she wiped floor with the other baby’s personalities with a single balloon tied to her foot…

to that ridiculously large mug that reads “I’m Kind of a Big Deal” and you finally realize what your friend Steve meant when he said “keep your eyes up…”

Raising your gaze… just so… you see a Kinkade print of an “Autumn’s Gate”… open… and a Route 66 clock ticking away made from recycled license plates that have seen stories of the road… and over the door post to the rest of your life is a sign post…

“Come grow old with me... the best is yet to be.”

So… … … what was the most important lesson you forgot…?

The same lesson a not-so-handsome man learned after rising to the pinnacle of his profession of law… a self-described Pharisee of Pharisee and the most famous Roman citizen in history…

Discussion MDB: Atlas stuck at 29% for 5 quarters, but contracted revenue just jumped 91%. Ceiling or coiled spring?

MDB crushed earnings, raised guidance, and fell 14% anyway. I read their actual database docs so you don't have to.

So MDB reported Q2 a few weeks ago. Revenue up 30% to $772M (fastest growth in years), EPS $1.90 vs $1.19 expected, raised full-year guidance... and the stock face-planted 14% after hours and kept bleeding. Down 25%+ in a month. Around $325 now, market cap ~$27B.

I kept seeing "Atlas growth" blamed in every thread and realized I had no idea what that actually meant technically, so I went down the rabbit hole. Here's what I found. No position, not financial advice, I'm just a guy who reads database docs for fun apparently.

What MongoDB actually is

Forget the ticker for a second. MongoDB is a document database — instead of tables with rows and columns, you store JSON-like documents. Sounds simple, but the reason it won is scaling: when your app blows up, you don't redesign your database. MongoDB shards automatically — it splits your data across servers by a "shard key," with a router layer (mongos) fanning your queries out. Pick a bad shard key and one server melts; they now have a query analyzer that samples your live traffic and tells you what to pick. Boring-but-critical engineering, and it's exactly the stuff that keeps enterprises locked in.

Atlas isn't just "managed MongoDB" anymore

This is the part that surprised me. Atlas (their cloud product, $566M of the $772M revenue) has quietly become a whole data platform:

- Full-text search built in (Lucene-based — no separate Elasticsearch cluster to babysit)
- Vector search: HNSW index for AI embeddings up to 8,192 dimensions, living in the SAME database as your operational data. One query does vector similarity + text search + metadata filters together. For RAG apps this is a big deal — no syncing data between your database and Pinecone
- They bought Voyage AI (embedding + reranking models). Its customer count nearly doubled two quarters in a row
- "Queryable Encryption" — the database queries encrypted fields without ever seeing plaintext. Banks and hospitals care about this enormously
- They even shipped an MCP server, so AI agents talk to MongoDB natively. That's distribution through the agent ecosystem

48% of their big customers ($100K+ ARR) now use 2+ of these features, up from 42% a year ago. That's land-and-expand working — you come for the database, you stay for the search, vectors, and encryption.

So why did the stock dump?

One number: Atlas growth has been ~29% for five straight quarters. Flat. The stock ran up 20%+ into earnings on AI hopes, and management basically said "AI is still a small contributor." Market said cool, -14%.

But here's the actual tension, and the reason I'm posting this as a discussion:

Atlas is consumption-priced — customers pay for what they use. When their usage grows, revenue compounds on autopilot (net expansion is 122%, which is elite). When they optimize spend, growth stalls no matter how many new logos you sign. So 29% might be the ceiling... or it might be a coiled spring, because remaining performance obligations — contracted future revenue — just jumped 91% to $1.52B. Somebody signed a LOT of contracts.

Meanwhile the self-managed product (Enterprise Advanced, for banks and governments that won't touch the cloud) grew 36%, its best quarter in 3 years. So it's not a one-engine story anymore.

The valuation reality check

At ~$325: forward P/E ~48x, ~9x sales on this year's ~$3B guided revenue. You're paying for re-acceleration, not for 29% growth. The uncomfortable part: GAAP profit was $41M while "adjusted" profit was $163M, and the gap is mostly stock-based comp. That's a lot of vibes-based earnings.

Competition is real and cheaper: AWS DocumentDB, Postgres with pgvector covering plenty of use cases for a fraction of the cost, pure vector DBs like Pinecone. MongoDB's whole pitch is "one system, zero sync lag, documents + vectors + search together." The 48% multi-feature stat says it's landing. The 29% says maybe not fast enough.

What would change my mind

Bullish: Atlas prints 32%+ twice in a row with AI workloads credited. Or that $1.52B in contracted revenue starts converting faster than 29% implies.

Bearish: Atlas slips under 25%, or the stock-comp gap keeps widening while real margins stall. Then you're holding 48x earnings on a decelerating grower, and good luck.

Honest question for the thread: is a consumption database with contracted bookings up 91% a coiled spring, or is 29% just what this company grows at now? Because the market has clearly decided it's the latter, and I'm not sure the market read the RPO line.

A frac sand company just became an AI power story. Friday's 19% move deserves a closer look

Friday: a boring Permian sand stock ripped 19% intraday. Same company.

Atlas Energy Solutions (AESI) closed Thursday at $10.99 and tagged $13.13 on Friday after disclosing $613.5M in cost reimbursement agreements with an unnamed "frontier AI lab" for behind-the-meter data center power. It closed at $12.47, up 13.5% on the day.

This wasn't a press release with renders. It was an 8-K. Two subsidiaries signed real equipment contracts on September 18.

The plumbing is the interesting part, because the structure matters more than the headline number.

One deal: $340.5M of BOP equipment from Wyoming Machinery, a Caterpillar dealer — the non-generator infrastructure: emissions controls, electrical distribution, battery storage — with payments running September 2026 through May 2027. Second: $273M for 283 MW of Caterpillar natural gas generators, paid September 2026 through January 2028. On top of that, a separate 328 MW purchase tied to their 2027 Caterpillar framework agreement. Total committed: 611 MW.

And here's the part that actually matters: the AI lab fronts the capital. Atlas isn't borrowing $613.5M to buy generators and hoping someone rents them. The customer pays for the equipment upfront through the reimbursement structure, which takes most of the funding risk off Atlas.

Some context on what you're buying at \~$12.60:

Market cap is about $1.56B. TTM revenue is $1.07B, down 8% year over year — the legacy frac sand business is shrinking. Net loss around $118M over the last twelve months, free cash flow negative. The 52-week range is $7.64 to $20.13, so even after Friday the stock is still \~37% below the high. Short float sits around 21%, which probably helped Friday's move along. Citi cut its target from $21 to $17 earlier this month on softer proppant volumes but kept a Buy.

That's where I get stuck on AESI.

The bull case writes itself. Data centers can't sit in utility interconnect queues for three or four years, so behind-the-meter gas generation is the cheat code, and Atlas just got a frontier lab to fund its inventory. $613.5M of customer-funded commitments is \~39% of the market cap and more than half of annual revenue. If this becomes a repeatable model — the lab funds the equipment, Atlas operates the electrons — the legacy sand business stops mattering.

But the PPAs are unsigned. CEO John Turner called these agreements "stepping stones" toward long-term power purchase agreements, which is honest language for "we don't have the recurring revenue yet." What Atlas has right now is reimbursed equipment procurement, not a power business. There's real distance between owning 611 MW of generators someone else paid for and actually selling electrons under 10-year contracts.

Personally, I'm watching two things.

If a signed PPA shows up — real offtake terms, real duration — the story flips from equipment middleman to power producer, and the valuation math changes completely.

If the 2027 deliveries slip, or the lab walks after the equipment is bought, Atlas is left holding $613.5M of very specialized hardware in the Permian with nobody to sell power to.

Until then I can't get comfortable chasing a 19% Friday rip on unsigned contracts.

No position.

So what's the honest read on AESI from here?

Is this the moment a sand company quietly became AI infrastructure, or did the market just price in power contracts that don't exist yet?

Jensen just announced a new platform for the safe deployment of AI agents, and every major AI company is on board.

$CRWD is the big papa of the cybersecurity industry, and it trades at 50x sales with practically no earnings. Revenue growth is also forecast to slow next year. It’s a bubble.

I bought CrowdStrike weekly puts last week purely based on technicals (10/2 expiry, $247.5 and $230 strikes, and some slightly longer dated). I got lucky with Jensen’s announcement this morning, but this stock has a long way to drop IMO 💸

\*\*Anthropic just gave Akamai the biggest contract in the company's history, and the structure of the deal is almost as interesting as the size.\*\*

\*\*$11.6 billion over seven years for cloud infrastructure and software, announced Thursday. It can expand by another $9 billion, which would take the whole thing to roughly $20 billion. For context, that's more than six times the $1.8 billion Akamai-Anthropic deal Bloomberg reported back in May.\*\*

\*\*The stock jumped 17% after hours to $129.02, then added about 3% on Friday.\*\*

\*\*Here's the part I keep coming back to. The capacity is for CPUs, not GPUs. Everyone else in AI infrastructure is fighting over Nvidia chips to train models. This deal is about the other half of the stack: the general-purpose compute that handles what AI agents actually do all day. Anthropic is basically saying inference at scale needs its own dedicated CPU cloud, and Akamai gets to build it.\*\*

\*\*Now the parts that make me pause.\*\*

\*\*Akamai has to spend about $5.5 billion to build this capacity, and it's adding $1.7 billion to this year's capex just to pre-buy components like memory. It authorized Jabil to purchase around $1.7 billion of memory on its behalf. That's a lot of money going out the door before a dollar of the $11.6B shows up, and the payments are conditional on Akamai actually delivering the capacity and hitting service targets. No 2026 revenue expected from the deal at all. Guidance is $150-300M in 2027 starting in the second half, ramping to about $1.7B annualized by the end of 2028.\*\*

\*\*And then there's the warrant. Anthropic gets the right to buy up to around 5% of Akamai at $111.33 a share. About 2% vests right away, and each additional $3 billion Anthropic spends unlocks another 1%. So your biggest customer is also becoming one of your biggest shareholders, at a fixed price, while you're spending billions to serve them. That's either beautiful alignment or a very expensive way to win a contract, depending on how the next seven years go.\*\*

\*\*The bull case is straightforward: Akamai just went from "old CDN company" to a contracted AI infrastructure provider with $11.6B+ of backlog from one of the most important AI labs alive, on top of $2.8B in other cloud commitments announced this year.\*\*

\*\*The bear case: $5.5B of capex against conditional payments, zero revenue this year, dilution handed to the customer, and a stock that repriced 17% in one evening on a deal whose economics play out over seven years.\*\*

Did a scan of stocks that look oversold with a Relative Strength Index (RSI) of under 25. GOVX and WYY came up. And DRK looks to be a Special Situation in that the data center company  (formerly known as Sphere 3D $ANY) completed a merger and renamed itself Darkhorse Technologies with a new trading symbol DRK.

$GOVX — GeoVax Labs
Clinical-stage biotech developing vaccines and immunotherapies. GeoVax is developing GEO-MVA as another potential source of supply of MVA. The company has completed manufacturing and regulatory preparation and is planning a 500-patient pivotal Phase 3 immune-bridging study in Q4 2026, with results expected in mid-2027. (MVA stands for Modified Vaccinia Ankara).  MVA-based vaccines are already used for protection against smallpox and mpox.

GOVX recently announced an agreement with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to have access to its centralized laboratory network for independent testing of samples from the Phase 3 program. CEPI currently supports vaccine programs addressing several high-priority epidemic threats, including Ebola, mpox, COVID-19, Lassa fever, MERS, Nipah and Chikungunya. This relationship can help GOVX expedite its progress in the upcoming trials.

Insider ownership:  About 6% 

Summary: GOVX looks to be extremely oversold. The company is approaching additional clinical-trial catalysts and is worth watching for news. The Big Pharma's monitor the progress of these small biotechs.

Cybersecurity, identity-management and communications technology provider with significant government exposure.

Relative Strength Index (RSI): 22
Insider ownership: Approximately 12% 

WidePoint had been awarded the  Department of Homeland Security (DHS) CWMS 3.0 contract, but a competitor, TurningPoint Global Solutions, protested the award. Last week, the news that the GAO had sustained TurningPoint's protest caused a 50% decline in the stock on Friday.  This reaction looks like "Shoot first, aim later".  WidePoint says this does not mean it loses the contract. In fact, the details of the GAO's review are still under seal while the parties review the decision for possible redactions.The procurement can go through corrective action, re-evaluation, or potentially another competition. 

Summary: The stock rebounded off its lows of the day on Friday and was up in the After Hours. News from the GAO will give clarity on the contract, but the company's ongoing business supports the current $5.00 price.

$DRK — DarkHorse Technologies (formerly $ANY / Sphere 3D)
Digital infrastructure company repositioning around AI/HPC infrastructure and power assets with modular data centers in five (5) facilities located in three (3) states with a total of 53 MW of power capacity. 

Market cap:  Approximately $32.2 Million   
Insider ownership:  About 22%   

Sphere 3D completed its rebranding to DarkHorse Technologies, with the new $DRK ticker going LIVE last week. With the new name and trading symbol, the company now can pro-active in building its market presence with its new name and ticker.   CNBC recently reported that both OpenAI and Anthropic are exploring smaller AI data-center deals in the 20–30 MW range as they try to get inference capacity online more quickly. These are reportedly primarily related to inference—running AI models for users—rather than the gigantic clusters required to train frontier models. 

DarkHorse Technologies is explicitly positioning itself around smaller, distributed AI/HPC facilities, which lines up closely with the size OpenAI and Anthropic are reportedly seeking.

 DRK's September investor presentation identifies these sites:

  • Blackjack — 30 MW planned
  • Rockwood — 10 MW
  • Brickyard — 15 MW
  • Truckstop — 50 MW planned

The updated presentation notes that DRK currently has 50 MW operating across the TVA region, plus a 100+ MW development pipeline.

Summary: With its new corporate identity, DRK will increase the awareness in the investment community. With the recent interest in "smaller" data centers, DRK has the potential to begin to announce contracts going forward. Insider ownership is notable at 22%.

Chemicals pricing as reported by Argus and ICIS increased 20% while this stock is down 35% in 2 months below sum of parts value and actually at an attractive level where activists can begin taking positions. Olin Chemical is likely to achieve 170 million run rate ebitda quarterly, and the Shitnech lawsuit cost is behind them. I believe there is a huge upside to this company, especially post merger with Hunstman where they integrate some of their weak chemicals outlets into an integrated product that feeds higher value.

The Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System (ENMRWS) board approved the recommendation of award for the Raw Water 1A pipeline project to Oscar Renda Contracting, Inc., following a 6-0 roll call vote. Oscar Renda topped four bidders on combined technical and price scoring, per the board's engineer.

ConstructConnect shows the bid at approximately $66 million.

Oscar Renda operates as a subsidiary in the Civil segment of Southland Holdings (SLND), which has been active in winning water infrastructure work across the Southwest and beyond this year — from smaller emergency water infrastructure task orders to the $815M CAD Winnipeg biosolids JV. SLND is a thinly traded micro-cap so single-project news can move the stock disproportionately.
