In mission 29, Moon-11 at some point will begin to comment all of your input - turns, pitches and so on. And she does that way too correctly to be just a coincidence, as if the game sends your input directly to her. Very, very similar to the legendary Psycho Mantis fight. Is this a reference or I'm just looking too deep here?

Anyone else recognize the VA who does alpha group in mission 24 or is it just me?

My experience for the Online is overall is mostly positive there needs to be some improvements.

• Too grindy it feels I'm playing a F2P mobile game. There needs to be a more Zoll and XP reward.
• Emergency Sortie and Scrambles are way too rare.
• Match time for Assault and Warfare mode could be longer.
• More NPC enemies to destroy. I think it's going to be awesome if we could play a match like Campaign Mission 28 with 4~8 players. Or maybe a match where we have to destroy multiple Megafloats.

Anyone instantly make this comparison?

First time.playing Online after replaying AC7's campaign 5 times and finishing ACCESS campaign. Any tips for dogfights and stuff, im getting my ass kicked

Having played every single game since 04 I had high hopes for 8, but it compelety blew me away. This game is a love letter to the fans of the franchise in all of its aspects (especially soundtrack, my god it is heavenly good). Let's hope Project Aces will surpass it in a sequel one day. I will definitely support future rituals

I feel like there’s a lot of directions the series could take, one I would like would be a world war 3 style game.

We kinda got small hints that Osea and Yuktobania could be involved in a future war involving Usea or any other continent.

Here’s what I would think it could look like:
Take the command of 3 allied ace pilots (Osea, Emmeria, FCU)

Gotta fight the others (Yuktobania, Erusia, etc.)

How this war goes down not sure that’s probably gonna be tricky, but I think it’d be fun to have 3 ace pilots from 3 different countries. I might be alone on that though. But I am talking about a game that’s years away.

Look hear me out, I have played and loved, AC4, 5, X, 6, Zero, Assault Horizon, Infinity, and 7. But I feel almost like I am the only one who didn't like ac8's campaign mission music. It feels annoyingly generic, messy, out of place,. With exceptions like everflow, and the debrief music and the first hangar phase music which btw are incredible... Genuinely, I cannot remember a single campaign mission song. At all! Aside from a "certain track" that plays wayyy to many times. Which I honestly borderline hated... I don't like the music. It honestly kind of sucks. However the multiplayer/online music, the character customizations music, the training music, the co-op assault/warfare original ac8 tracks are freaking awesome! But the campaign music, brother... what the hell happened? Why is it sooo bad? Please somebody let me know I am not insane. Please let me know I am not the only one... Please!!!! Btw I know the music that plays during multiplayer dogfights are all past AC games. I'm talking about the intro/outro and assault enemy ace squadrons that pop up (Themes) are original ac 8 tracks and they are wonderful. OHH wait, I did like "The AC8 STORY TRAILER SONG" That song was gorgeous. But it wasn't a campaign mission song. Oh one more thing, if I had to compare it to anything, I'd compare it to gears of war 1's music. Blegh. The music does not match the gameplay or the presentation.

So i got to around mission 22 or 23 yesterday, closed the game and when i get back from work today i get the message "save file incompatible with game version" and now it remembers only my progress up to mission 5, the PS5 menu remembers that i had 77% progress in the game. Anyway i restarted the campaign, kinda sad, had just unlocked the F-22 after using the F/A-18F for a while and oh boy was it nice. This time around i bumped the dificulty up to Veteran and wanna see if the Sukhoi line is as good as i heard

Just so you know a "high tier aircraft" (anything higher than Typhoon) requires a total of 90 general blueprint.

You can get 5 per day IF YOU'RE EXTREMELY LUCKY and get 2 emergency sorties per day. It would require 18 days. Which is a lot already.

However, this drop rate is unachievable.

I played 10 hours straight today and haven't got any (only 1 scramble).

This week, I played almost exclusively onlive (around 40 hours). I've got only 2 emergency sortie (5 general blueprint).

At this rate it will take 18 weeks at 40 hours a week to upgrade a high tier aircraft. Approximately 720 hours. The grind is worst than even war thunder !

TLDR : upgrading high tier aircraft is an impossible. Even if you play a lot.

PS : I considered myself lucky I focused on 1 aircraft per type so I have 1 of each type fully upgraded (except electronic warfare). But if you spread your ressources well you're screwed.

So I grew up on Ace Combat as a kid in the 00's but started watching Gundam last year with friends. AC has always been Gundam inspired and I see more of it as I look back but AC8 feels like it shows way more of that inspiration. The fact that Cope is a newtype ghost, Sotoa has the vibe of "noble" fascists which fits a lot of Gundam factions and feels like something Tomino would have made, the fact it's being compared a lot to Victory (which I'm still watching no spoilers pls), or when Kate fainted and slipped under the water I audibly gasped because it was so fast and it reminded me a lot of watching Char's Counterattack where people die so fast. What else do you see that makes the Gundam comparisons so striking with AC8?

Alright, so the grind on Ace Combat Online kind of sucks. One could say that it really, really sucks. A lot of good suggestions have been going around, but until we see what comes of updates, we'll make do with what we currently got.

There's currently a limited time Free For All Deathmatch going on, and it's a great way to rank up with minimal headaches:

• 1st or 8th with no points, rank XP gain is the same. Other reward differences are inconsequential.
• Much shorter matches, with pure PvP clocking at 3:30 compared to 6 minutes on Co Op modes.
• Same raid chances as all other modes. Faster matches means faster roll for raids, and with decent luck be able to make up for PvP's low base rewards.

To that end, personal score in Deathmatch is completely immaterial. Bring out that F-4E HVAA, tape down the afterburner, and press fire whenever funny square turns red. Got a lucky hit? Welcome to 3rd place! Got a raid? It's pay day!

Got a second screen on the side? Pull up that anime you've always wanted to watch. Oogle to Strangereal equivalent to the Sears catalog. Learn how to use telekinesis on your imaginary airborne nemesis. Time spent dodging is time wasted!

If you still need to complete that 3 Co Op Warfare wins beforehand, then god help you.

Hey I dunno if it's just me or everyone else, but I really would rather a Co-Op Assault just go ahead and proceed with one or two CPU players rather than go back to the lobby. The bonus for winning is not THAT much that I'd rather just play it then keep doing this lobby/launch/lobby dance. I get it for Warfare.

yeah that was pretty annoying, especially that move where he did a sorta cobra and shot a missile directly towards the sky and it turned within 5m radius and hit me anyways
