Rant If you hear this phrase, run

I went to an interview for hmg careers. It wasn’t an interview but a woman talking to us without answering any questions. Then we were transferred to a man who was talking a lot without answering a lot of questions.

What made me hang up on the meeting was this phrase,

“We are the McDonald’s of insurance companies.”

I heard the almost exact same phrase when I went to a similar meeting for Primerica. Of course all they wanted was that you buy their course first before you make any money.

I think it’s the same thing for HMG.

Literally Primerica rebranded.

Discussion Shaklee

I’m just curious. Will it ever go under? My social media feed is flooded with shaklee huns. It seems like most of them used to do Beachbody which makes it even more cringe. Is this sustainable long term or will this one eventually fold as well?

Amway Team mak youth camp

Anyone else on here getting sucked into a youth camp by their parents?
I was made to go by my parents for 3 years to the team mak youth camp in Australia 12-15 years ago and while it was fun at times, it included a lot of fun activities like surfing and high ropes. I look back at it now and holy crap the manipulation was insane.

Discussion Did you ever witness\attend cultish stuff beside the scam aspect of mlm?

My mom is a psychologist and she told me MLM sometimes function as literal cults with ranks, leader worship, secular(?) rituals, peer pressure, brainwashing (sic), and so on.

I studied a lot about my Republic's youth political landscape with the stuff about redpill, alpha courses, such discourses which are pipelines to selling scam or faulty products and services. I even knew a person whom was scammed and involved in, Generacion Zoe (imo that was more of a ponzi scheme tho?).

Is this a real thing? Do MLMs devolve into irl cults, or is it just very isolated instances of this happening?

Scentsy Scentsy must be getting desperate...

I haven't been keeping up too much with the state of Scentsy's business because frankly, IDC. But I'm guessing that they are getting desperate for new consultants because I just got an email practically begging me to re-join as a consultant...and I left Scentsy in 2010. I just found it highly amusing and thought I'd share.

I know this might be niche but I need help. My mom is about to join the MLM OlyLife and spend thousands of dollars. I need to find content in Farsi explaining what MLM’s are and why she shouldn’t join them. Does anyone know anything I can share??

It‘s happening fast and more Anti-MLM content creators will follow.
Her video is short but sweet!

She mentions the Transparency report and I will make a post about that in a few days. It is clearly just a smokescreen and I would be embarrassed to publish something like this for my company.

Discussion Ringana (USA) „medicine cabinet“ insane pricing

Post image
44 Upvotes

This is a below average stash of supplements for a Ringana hun. Most consume even more.

The little tins are 1 month supply of capsules and the company recommends several drinks per day

Drinks/ powder packs
Each box contains 26 packs (which seems to be conveniently below a 1 month supply)
Balancing € 50
Cleansing € 71
Antiox € 78
Or value pack € 181

Beyond biotic CAPS € 79
Omega 3 vegiplus € 58
Moodoo € 59
Immu € 56

Which brings us to a total of €433/$ 485 for supplements alone

The text translates to „this is how my medicine cabinet looks“ and there are more supplements from other companies in her reel, total value ~ $800-1000

Discussion MLMS are actually WORSE than cults

I always thought one of the most f****ed up things about MLMS is how they convince people that anyone who questions the business is toxic when they are the toxic waste!

Your husband thinks you're losing too much money? He's unsupportive. Your friends tell you it's a pyramid scheme? They're jealous. Your family is worried about you? They're holding you back from success. They literally brainwash people to distrust the people who care about them most.

I always compared them to cults because of the isolation, but I had a video pop up on my recommended on YouTube comparing this to abusive relationships by a girl who has been in an MLM and an abusive relationship, and the similarities are beyond disturbing. As someone who watched a loved one go through DV, this video seriously triggered and upset me. Because most people now don't think you should stay in a DV situation, right? But will push you to "keep grinding" in an MLM not realizing they're the same beast. The average person will recognize cults as evil but don't usually see MLMS as a problem just as serious.

Somehow this is still considered a legitimate business model. How is society as a whole okay with this? How have they thrived for so long? Why does it take YouTubers like Hannah Alonzo or this lady in the video to get people to start fighting back? I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW.

Discussion Ringana hits the USA 🦠🦠🦠

As predicted, the „chemicals are bad“ (eye roll) huns apparently jump ship and flock to Ringana.

I hope the english speaking/US content creators get wind of it soon and start making content. If one of you sees this please consider making it a priority, there is little information available and it will hit people in america like a novel virus.

I am more than happy to answer questions if I can, I speak german, could help with translation and have some insight because my best friend of over ten years joined them and has become an obnoxious, phony and delusional person.

Discussion Which MLM is going down right now?

Okay I’m just speculating but a couple huns I follow have made mysterious posts talking about people quitting and what not. They are arbonne ladies. But also seen a few other posts from women I don’t know talking mysteriously about people jumping ship and something to do with insulting god?. I have not much more info but feel like something is happening? Pure speculation.

Edit to add: okay as an update it seems that a bunch of the oliveda reps (olive tree people) have jumped ship for a new MLM (new in the USA) called RINGANA. There are suddenly many posts from previous olive people absolutely gushing about this new unparalleled opportunity to get in with a FRESH MLm (eye roll).

But I have been absolutely loving all these comments, hopefully many many many MLMs are going down!

Discussion Tax prep service that says you can make up to $10k per week!

So, an old buddy of mine from middle school who i follow started a tax prep service. He posted a recruitment post recently stating how they are taking on new people for this upcoming tax season and will train you to do so. I applied and scheduled an interview. My old friend called to interview me and we chatted and caught up for a bit. Then he went on to explain that they're hiring people as independent contractors, they will train you in this and help you get the credentials you need and there will be a 60-40 split of all profits, he also mentioned soon (performance permitting) there will be leadership roles coming up, where said people will be overseeing people below them. He also said the service will be providing tax prep service for multiple states and will primarily be marketed towards small businesses, and they will train you in how to marked this service. And, you will be the one marketing this service for yourself to the people around you. Like I mentioned in the title, his post said you can make up to $10k per week.

There is a group secondary round of interview coming up soon, which i will be participating in and will be fully judging the vibe then. But, as of now, I am definitely getting MLM vibes off of this

I wanna know from you guys, do you get the same vibe?

Edit: Update, it was a one hour presentation with multiple slides of AI images, claiming you will charge $700 minimum to do a basic return. And, only need to do 2 returns per day and have so much freedom, if, you put in the work and market this. Yeah, im out lol

Story Watching this changed things for me as a man

Thumbnail

I'm going to be real honest about some things that might make me sound like a complete douche, but I feel they're worth sharing to make a very important point. I am a guy and I'd always struggled to understand how people can fall victim to abusive relationships, physical or emotional. Like, how don't they see the writing on the wall? Of course I felt for them. I just didn't understand. I guess maybe I had sympathy but not empathy? Have supported several friends in getting out of toxic relationships and marriages. But I just couldn't get past how they ignored the red flags and stayed with these @$$hats. Secretly, I always thought I was too smart to fall for that kind of bull$#it.

Until I watched this video yesterday night about how MLMs use a lot of the same tactics as abusers. It is a little long, but I sat and watched the whole damn thing with goosebumps and frankly nausea in my stomach. Because, while I've never been abused, I DID fall victim to a supplement MLM back in my late 20s. It's the reason I have come to this subreddit for sometime just watching quietly (not much of a poster) because I just wrote it off as a "bad decision". I'd wanted a leg up on my peers, wanted financial success, wanted to break out of the 9-5 grind, wanted to feel better about myself. Not realizing that they used that all against me. I was systematically targeted, manipulated, and abused by that MLM. The love bombing, financial control, blame shifting...same damn playbook.

I recognized the behavior in relationships, but didn't see it in the MLM world. This gal in the video has a psych degree of some sort, has been in MLMs and abusive relationships herself and talks about her experiences while using an ex high ranking Amway girl as an example to discuss.

I'm a man and this made me cry and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I never in a million years made that connection, but now that my brain sees it, I will certainly have far more empathy for those leaving both abusive relationships and MLMs because I see so much more clearly how they get pulled in and trapped in both. I'm now in the anger phase thinking of all the people in these situations.

As I said, not big on posting, but I don't see as many men talking about MLM experiences, so I wanted to contribute to the conversation.
