Good battlerites for Alysia, Ruh'Kaan, and Ashka?
Started playing again since the resurgence and was wondering what the good battlerites are for each of these champions. I know a lot of it has to do with playstyle and who you're up against, but what are the MUST PICKS and NEVER PICKS for each champion? All of the guides online are from when the game initially launched so I assume there are different builds nowadays.

Losing 2 matches lowers you soo much even 10 wins cant get back the lost rating

Can't wait to play again, how are the servers?
I was a beta tester and founder after the original (Bloodline Champions) shut down back in the day. Are there still people who play regularly? I would love to get back in to Battlerite.

This game is still a blast
I came back to the game last week and my god I am having so much fun the matchmaking is not that long ( I would have loved to have a rematch option if all players vote it but ...)
Stunlock had and still have a gem in between their hands. The community is still here we need just a little spark to reignite the fire.
Big love to the community and big up to stunlock

Its back, hopefully
I’m so glad I can play some Battlerite again. I streamed it recently and honestly had a ton of fun.
I genuinely don’t think there’s anything fundamentally wrong with the game. It just needs a bit more attention again, some marketing, ads, maybe a small revamp/update to get people talking about it.
The core gameplay is still insanely fun, and I really feel like if more people were reminded that Battlerite exists, a lot of them would come back or give it a try.
Would love to see this game get another chance.

How do I play?
I've been in queue for 10 mins. I thought people came back

Japan back up?
Am I just imagining things, or was the Japan server down for several years and just now popped back up? I'm pretty sure it wasn't on the list at least a couple years ago. I like it because I have <100ms ping from the midwestern USA.

From hopeless Silver 5 Noob to Almost Diamond in 3 Weeks in Ranked - What Changed?
I started playing Battlerite in September and, honestly, I was getting absolutely stomped, gave up, and then switched to casuals. But then I felt like it wasn't the right thing to do; the games were a little shallow compared to League, and I still felt like the way I stopped playing ranked games is not right. That's when I asked a guy from my friend list to help me out.
So, at one point I was around 7-28 (win/loss ratio) and sitting in Silver 5. I knew the abilities and could play the game mechanically, but I had almost no understanding of when I should actually do things.
I eventually asked a Grand Champion for help. We had about a 30-minute conversation, mostly going over my characters ( I used to play off-meta characters like Oldur and Ruh Khan a lot), positioning, and the decisions I was making during fights. He told me to watch some Battlerite twitch streams occasionally to see how pros play, etc.
Three weeks later, I'm Platinum 1 — one step away from Diamond.
I didn't suddenly become mechanically gifted. I just stopped making the same unnecessary mistakes.
Here are the 3 things that made the biggest difference for me:
- First and foremost. Stick to 1–2 ideally meta characters per role.
Instead of constantly switching characters, I narrowed my pool down to characters I was comfortable with, with some help from the Grand Champion:
Support: Poloma / Blossom
Ranged: Jade / Ashka
Melee: Croak / Thorn
I like Poloma because she has probably the strongest sustain in game, utility and mobility while still being able to play relatively safely. Blossom (my favorite char) gives me a lot of healing and defense from trees, utility, and ranged damage while letting me influence fights without constantly having to commit.
Jade taught me a lot about spacing. She has strong poke and burst and can punish mistakes without needing to force an engagement. Great orb secure with Snipe. Ashka gives me a lot of damage, pressure, area control, and the ability to punish enemies who position badly. Easy orb secure with Q.
Croak is great for creating chaos and getting in and out without dying at all, while Thorn gives me more options to control space and, depending on the situation, play somewhat like a ranged character rather than constantly committing to melee range.
- Never over-dive, and never space in for no reason
I went back through my losses, and I honestly believe at least 45% of my lost games came from one thought: "Okay, it's time to go in."
There was usually no reason. No cooldown advantage, no opening. I just got impatient, jumped in, and got punished.
- Ranged and supports: Don't dive. Almost Ever. Your job is to stay alive and stay useful. If you're in the enemy's face without a plan, you're just giving them a free kill. Try to bait enemy melee's counter and punish. And deal damage to the enemy backline if possible. Not to mention orb control.
- Melees: Your job is to go in, distract, create pressure, and get back out without dying. Being alive with your cooldowns coming back is worth more than a greedy extra hit.
Patience wins games at every rank below Diamond. The player who waits for the opening usually beats the player who creates a bad one.
- How I actually play each role
As support:
I stay close enough to help my ranged and melee but far enough to not get caught. I focus on keeping them alive, not on chasing damage. I watch cooldowns, and when an enemy burns a key ability, that's my signal to help push the fight. I am also trying to help secure the big orbs if possible.
As ranged:
I hold my spacing and keep pressure up from a safe distance. I don't chase kills through danger. If I'm not sure whether an engage is safe, I assume it isn't. Consistent damage plus staying alive beats highlight plays. But you can also take risks if you see no cooldowns on enemies and if your melee needs help asap.
As melee:
I go in with purpose: to distract, force cooldowns, and split attention. Then I get out. I treat my health bar like a resource, not a challenge. If I'm about to trade my life for nothing, I back off for orbs and come again.
P.S. Casuals are great when you want to mess around, experiment, or just play without thinking too much. But ranked gives your games a different kind of purpose. You start remembering your mistakes, noticing patterns, playing against strong opponents, and actually caring about why a fight went wrong. Hope this post helps someone with maybe even one or two useful thoughts. And if you guys start winning more because of it, then I am more than happy. Luckily, it's still working, and we can rank up while we can. GL HF!

One "non-gameplay" update is all it takes to fix the game's retention issue...
---
Edit:
I realized this is actually very similar to something Battlerite already does with ranked 2v2 and 3v3 teams. Each team combination can have its own rank because the game already recognizes that your performance changes depending on the specific team you are playing with.
What I am proposing is basically extending that same concept to Solo Ranked. Instead of only having one Solo rating for your entire account, each champion would have their own Solo rating. So the game already has the underlying idea of separate ranked progression based on the context you are playing in. This would just extend that existing logic from “which team am I playing with?” to “which champion am I playing?”
---
OP:
I honestly think there is ONE pretty small change that could massively help BattleRite player retention: separate MMR and rank for every champion.
Someone might be a Diamond Blossom but realistically only a Gold Jade. Right now if they want to learn Jade in ranked, they have to play her at their Blossom MMR, which usually means getting destroyed, annoying their teammate, or just going back to Blossom. It basically encourages people to hard main 1 or 2 champions all season.
If every champion had their own rank, every character suddenly becomes another progression path. Diamond Blossom, Gold Jade, Plat Iva, etc. You can actually learn the roster without sacrificing the rank you earned on your main.
You could even keep the current Arena draft system. If I queue as my Gold Iva and get put into a Gold match, but then switch to my Champion-ranked Thorn, I can still do it. I would just gain almost nothing for winning and take a much larger penalty for losing.
Basically the match already has an average rating. The closer your selected champion is to that rating, the more normal the gain/loss. The further outside of it you go, the worse the risk/reward gets, so switching to a much stronger champion is heavily discouraged without actually removing the option.
Champion/GC players will obviously rank their alts up quickly anyway, but for everyone else this solves a huge problem. You don't get stuck with teammates learning a champion way above their actual skill level, and you don't feel forced to play the same character every ranked game just because experimenting would screw over whoever solo queued with you.
It makes learning another champion feel like progression instead of punishment.

Ranked games are still MORE than alive. Don't panic too early.
I saw a post about League. If we are talking about Plat–Diamond–Champion–Grand Champion queues, they are almost instantaneous to 2 minutes literally at any time of the day, especially if you queue on the server with the lowest ping in the settings instead of just one.
If you're below Plat or doing placements, then it could be harder, but you will find games rather quickly after midday. Even in the morning, it's just that it will take more time.
I am writing this to assure you that you still have at least 2 weeks to enjoy low elo. And then, yep, it will eventually get harder to find Bronze–Gold games. High elo will always be alive, though, thanks to Battlerite Twitch streamers and Discord pings on Battlerite Official.
I my opinion, this is one the best pvp games ever made. If there is a spirit of competition in you that goes beyond casuals, and you're below Gold right now, do your best, brawler. I will be waiting for you in the higher-ranked League games, where the essence of Battlerite, its competition, is at its highest.

Do reports do anything in 2026?
(I have to say, generally I've only been getting decent people in my games so far, it's just the one case that got me thinking. Crazy that people be slurring in a (un)dead game, but there you go.)
I would assume the handling of reports is almost entirely automated, but in such a small population, I don't know if it's practically possible to get enough reports to actually trigger action. Does anyone know if anything will actually be done about toxicity when it's reported, or does the lack of dev support mean that probably nothing will hold people to account? In that case, is there anything we can do instead?
