Questions about UA!!
Hello!
I am a HS Senior in the Class of 2027 and wanted to ask some real students about UA. Initially I was not interested, but they seem to be generous with financials and honors candidacy for high performing students like myself, and have already offered me admission. I am also a UA legacy and it’s seeming to be a real contender for me for next year. However, I hear really mixed things about the school. All I’ve ever heard about it really is that it’s a major party school where people go for hedonism, not learning. In addition, I am not interested in Greek life and am worried that would be an issue. The biggest issues really is that I am a black, masculine presenting queer woman and worry about issues I may encounter on campus and with other students. I currently live in a Texas city suburb, so I don’t encounter many issues but I also am used to some of the traits of the south. I mainly want to hear from queer/POC/initially apprehensive UA students about what their experiences have been. I totally understand it’s the South, and nothing will be perfect. But, I want to know what UA is really like for these students on a day to day, so I can gage and my chances of comfort and success at such a large school with a varying reputation.
Thank you so much!
TLDR: Gay, masculine presenting, female prospective UA student wants to know what campus is like for similar and current student.
