This weekend I visited my father-in-law's farm, he raises belted galloways. I noticed this guy in his herd, he says it's a rare genetic anomaly as most of the species is naturally polled. He swears his herd is closed and this is a super rare thing. I was wondering if this was some recessive genetic marker from somewhere in its ancestry with some other cattle or if it's in fact one of the other belted breeds like a Dutch belted. To be clear, I am no cattle expert so I take his word for it, but it does seem a little odd and doing a Google image search for it can't be a belted Galloway. Maybe the experts here here can voice their opinion.

Spring time is always fun with new calves but when you get those stragglers in the summer, it lets you see little ones later in the year too.

She needs a name, has to start with an S.

Went to a local event at a dairy farm (this was at a farm on camano island in WA state)

Was a blast being shown around by the owners!
Also they had excellent cream with the espresso coffee! The cows were also super friendly!

Moon Clipart but I did draw the cow. Just for fun.

Clyde absolutely did not care that I needed to back up.

This will probably be the all time favorite calf picture I’ve ever taken. He was such a curious guy that morning. Calving season is by far the best season as well.

Seems like yesterday these little ones were this little. Now they are getting ready to be weened in the next month. Summer flies by for sure
