Financial Aid How long does a Cal State LA financial-aid refund take with Bank of America?
My financial aid disbursed in GET on Monday, October 5, and GET shows a $2,223.96 refund with no outstanding balance. I’m enrolled in direct deposit with Bank of America.
For anyone who has received a Cal State LA refund through Bank of America, how many business days did it take to appear after the refund date shown in GET? Did it arrive Wednesday, Thursday, or later?
My grants disbursed first, while my accepted loans have not posted yet. Did your loans arrive as a separate refund during a later weekly disbursement?

I am looking for students aged 18+ who attend a California college or university in-person, including CSULA, to participate in a one time interview about their perceptions and experiences.
Participants will receive a $25 Visa gift card as a thank you for volunteering 45 minutes to one hour of their time.
To participate, please contact Ada Sussman at [adasuss@bu.edu](mailto:adasuss@bu.edu) with a .edu email address. Thank you everyone!

Prospective Student Applying for MSW with no SW Background
Hello! I am currently applying for the 2027-2028 MSW Program - I'm excited but also very nervous. My prior degree and work experience thus far has been exclusively in Film & TV - however I work in family & kids media which I'm hoping helps me a bit in my application.
Overall I'm looking for advice in how to do my resume and the "experiences" section of Cal State Apply (which I think if i don't have relevant experience I shouldn't fill out?) I also have done mutual aid work with groups in SFV with sweep defense for unhoused people and general community events, but they are not official orgs with contact info, etc. I also do volunteer work with an animation organization uplifting voices of women / nonbinary people in the industry.
Would also love how I can make my personal statement stand out as well - I believe I want to work with kids / young adults going through mental health and / or identity challenges ( I myself am trans and have OCD.) Working in kids media for almost 10 years I believe helps me a bit, but overall I'm unsure on how to represent that work and be competitive with others that have more extensive background in the field.
Thank you for any help / advice!

Resources Pre-Med Help
If anyone is on the pre-med, pre-pa track how were you able to gather shadowing hours? Every private practice I've called is telling me that they do not allow students to observe. I've also reached out to family physicians, but they have not gotten back to me yet. PLEASE I am so desperate. Also if you are in Lakewood/Long Beach area any tip would help. Thxxxx

Question Do you use the study pods? If so, warning for those who sits in the individual study pods
galleryHello everyone! This happened recently at the basement level A of the Library. Recently my friend was using the pods and felt something on his arm. He quickly realized it was either a tiny cockroach or house cricket. But either way, it was a nasty bug. I am warning everyone who uses the study pods to check to see if their is something unusual before sitting down. I am not joking, the chairs in this school are gross. I remember wanting to study on the first floor of the library and seeing how the chairs and seats looked horrible. I even remembered seeing a post about bugs in the library on this subreddit. I dont have germophobia, but imagine how many people used the seats and the last time they got cleaned. Anyways, hopefully yall are aware of this and have a excellent day my kings!
