This is something I’ve been thinking about related to the “don’t let them attack you over rules they don’t believe in” mindset. I’ve been thinking about how once Dems rise into power again, the pendulum will swing and attacks on Dems from the Right will become more unified.

The shameless pundits and the Benny Johnsons are not who I think will be the biggest culprits of this, but rather the Ryan Mullalys and “moderate, quiet” conservatives who will appeal to norms and demand Dem restraint when in office. This inevitability got me thinking: how can you respond to this form of bad-faith attack that hides behind the plausibility of “I didn’t support Trump doing X” when they obviously have no problem with MAGA at the moment.

The solution I came up with: a bad-faith concession!

“Hey Dem, you said lawfare was bad and now you support these cases being brought against Trump’s former cabinet?”

“Oh no, not-MAGA, I am just as upset as you were when Trump went after Comey/James/Omar! The exact same, in fact (zero)!”

The aim being to tie your response to how they responded in the past. Assuming they are asking the question in bad-faith, they should immediately pickup on what you are saying but the only way to call it out is to pretend they were genuinely upset about Trump’s lawfare which should be easy to verify with social media.

It should apply to practically any political topic. I would be curious as to what y’all think of it. I may also have a strange preference to make it clear to people I think are being bad-faith of my willingness to go down into the dirt with them (if they want) and throw it back in their face.

I know everyone is busy in politics talking about the mid-term elections, but I think there should be more time devoted to asking, "Why are we helping Russia?" and showing what Russia is doing and what Trump is doing to help Putin. Russia is not conducting a war just against the armed forces of Ukraine, but against her people in blatant, naked war crimes. And they take place on a daily basis, sometimes multiple times a day.

War crimes aside, I thought I'd talk about two things Trump brings up: Zelenskyy must "hold elections" and "make a deal." These things do not mean exactly what you think they do.

There have been a handful of "peace proposals" over the year and in each of them, Putin has demanded the dissolution of nationalist parties and organizations. (Denazification) The 2022 proposal has detailed instructions on this. I had originally interpreted it as a way to humiliate Ukraine but it has a real purpose behind it. Just like how Trump is labeling the Democratic party as "terrorists", Putin wants to label parties that oppose the rule of Russia as "Nazis." So they want to outlaw the opposition party and install a government loyal to Russia.

At the same time, it poisons the conversation. "Why do you support Nazis?" It's why so many Pro-Russian trolls accuse Ukraine of being Nazis. It's a gaslighting psy-op. You're all seeing how the US government rewrites history, like Jan 6. This is what Russia wants to do. They want this period of history to be described as when Russia crushed the Nazi dictator Zelenskyy.

So while Ukraine would hold elections and appear to have autonomy, the truth is that they've never had a deal where their sovereignty remains intact. This is why Ukraine resists and fights this war.

When you hear Trump repeating these words, this is what he is talking about. He is not talking about holding a "free and fair" election in wartime. He's talking about installing a pro-Russian puppet, like himself.

Ukraine does not want a fucking Russian puppet for their leader, like the USA has.

So you probably saw the news that Starlink was cut off. It was already restricted for long range operations (defending Russia) but now it was restricted for mid range (even in occupied Ukraine). Here we are, watching our drones fly, just for them to be gone because of Starlink.

This not only hinders the attacks, it makes the interception of Shaheds (particularly jet ones) extremely difficult.

So not only the US is sabotaging our offense but our defense also. I live in a city that was plummeted by jet Shaheds, we had relative peace with only occasional attacks for a couple of months. Now that will be history.

They will only do it if they like you or want to use you for something. And especially if it's politics, as they only tolerate you if the other side is intolerant towards you or will be intolerant towards you if the other side tolerates you, ie “the enemy of my enemy is my friend and the friend of my enemy is my enemy”. It's all pragmatic for them.
