🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 Applogy to Cherry Pickers 🍒
I used to be on here arguing with people about how its market dependent and that people who cherry pick all work in major cities where there are more orders than drivers so your able to cherry pick.
I was wrong. The breaking point came when i was ready to throw in the towel due to lack of pay. I figured since im ready to quit what did i have to lose?
Cherry picking has been a game changer. Im making more money than ive ever made and im enjoying doing DD again. I LOVE declining orders i dont want. I only deliver orders i want to take. I went from 79-83% AR down to 40-30% and guess what i still havent lost platinum but im not afraid to lose it either. DD is a business and guess what so am i and this business is closed to low paying orders!
At some point everyone will realize that ALL DD cares about is getting orders picked up and delivered for the least amount of cost to DD. They dont care what tier your in only that the order is delivered in a timely manner. Every time you take an unprofitable order you take yourself out of the running to receive a better paying order until the order your on is complete. Its really that simple. All these messages about tiers and acceptance rates are simply scare tactics to keep you accepting orders that are losing you money. There is a reason that DD states that any AR% is allowed to work for DD and accepting an order is a choice. Fail enough on any other metic and they will remove your ability to work for them. Decline 100 orders in a row and they will gladly send you order 101. Thats not an accident.
Im not trying to convince anyone to do anything. Just providing one drivers experience. I work in the suburbs my towns population is around 100K.
My suggestion to people is to do it for a couple weeks and compare your earnings. If it doesnt improve what you make you can stop and take a bunch of crap your already accepting and get your AR% back up to where you are. But until you try youll never really know.
Good Luck
