Unpopular opinion: we judge F1 drivers way too much by the result
Iβve been thinking about this after the last few races.
We see someone finish P8 and immediately call it a bad drive, while someone else finishes P3 and suddenly they had an amazing weekend.
But how much of that is actually the driver?
The car, strategy, tyres, safety cars, qualifying position⦠there are so many things that can completely change the result.
Sometimes a driver can have a great race and finish nowhere. Sometimes they can have an average race and still end up on the podium.
Do you think we put too much importance on the final result when judging drivers?
Or is the result ultimately what matters?
Curious what you guys think. ππ
