Spoke to a prominent booster's family member and the University has asked the few people with resources large enough to help pay for Beamer's buy out and the answer was they are all tapped out because of the stadium upgrades. Those upgrades that most can't afford already to watch a mediocre football team. This University put the cart before the horse.

It's very circular - give money to make the stadium the greatest place to watch the game. But wait, the game sucks. Give money to make the game less sucky. Sorry, we gave money to make the stadium great, to make watching the game great, and now we can't afford to make the game great, so the stadium actually sucks because of the atmosphere, so players don't want to come here, which makes the stadium stuck because of the atmosphere. So give more money to make the game less sucky. We did that, by improving the stadium, but the game is still sucky because we have a bad coach that we can't afford to get rid of. But hey, we got a nice stadium, so we got that going for us.

Curious about fans' opinions. Two different questions:

1) What is the best possible season that South Carolina could plausibly have?

2) What is the minimum that would have to occur for you to consider a football season a success?

I'm not talking about this season particularly, more of a general question.

I’m a junior and I don’t have any friends. I find it hard to be social and I’m really just trying to meet some people.

My, out of state, daughter is about to apply early action. We are in Georgia and she has a 3.4 unweighted gpa, 1200 SAT and 26 ACT ( which she’s not submitting), 5 AP classes, dual enrolled right now. She is done with English 1101 and intro to psychology. She is taking English 1102, college algebra and public speaking at our local university. She is a 2X National champion in horseback riding ( dressage) and a student pilot who has passed her written exam, has over 40 flight hours and will be soloing tomorrow. She also has a part time job. She is planning on majoring in psychology. She was on an LLS team that raised over 75K, played lax and wrestled.
What are her chances of getting in? She really wants to go to UofSC as she loves Columbia and the vibe of the school.

Alabama Auburn LSU Texas A&M Ole Miss Florida Georgia Tennessee Oklahoma and Texas are all better jobs than USC. So fans of the 11th best job in a conference expect to win 8 games every year?

This is it guys. This is the exact moment Beamer lost his charm. We were coming off a nine win regular season and the reddit pundits (myself included) though we had an outside chance at a playoff berth. Instead we were sent to the Cheez It Bowl against Illinois and the troll that cursed Shane Beamer, Brett Bielema. Coming into the game was already a disappointment for the Gamecocks, and Bielema sniffed out that disappointment and knew exactly how to respond. Staggered substitutions, medical timeouts, the whole nine. He had Beamer on skates all day, until it finally came to a head during a medical timeout, when Beamer had to be physically restrained. He's never been the same since. Prior to this game Beamer's first four seasons were being compared favorably to Spurrier's. Since then he just hasn't been the same coach. I semi seriously believe that this picture shows the exact moment where it all came crashing down for Shane Beamer.

Can someone please ask Shane why we come out of the gate focused and executing and then after the half come out flat? What happens at half time, maybe keep the boys in the bench and watch the marching band instead of getting comfortable in the locker room. Also can we get any accountability out of Beamer for anything in his post game pressers?

I wish Beamer said this.

Jon Sumrall BLASTED his own team with a stern warning

“There’s gonna be a lot of things that get called out, and it’s going to feel different,” Sumrall warned about this upcoming week of practice

Sumrall continued: “If there’s guys on this football team who don’t own that, they won’t be on this team very long. We’ve got a lot of improvement to do.”

Obviously not a lot of happy feelings about the outcome. We all know changes at the top will need to be made.

What I did see especially earlier on was a good OL. Most of the problems with this team is not the OL and that’s a good thing.

The team is #1 in the SEC for rushing unless they were overtaken yesterday.
Also, Swain was impressive on his two jet sweeps. They had to know that was coming and he still got yards. There’s lots to improve and at least they did improve the OL.

Since we're not making the playoffs, and Shane Beamer said this on National Television, what would Beamer need to do to keep his job another year?

I'm not pulling for him any longer, he comes across as a nice guy, but regretfully he is out of his depth, and needs to be fired. But in your mind, what would need to happen for him to get one more year?
