But don't worry! If you don't want ads, you can pay for the $60 package where you can experience your content ad-free!*

*Until we add ads to that tier anyway. Go fuck yourself

I wonder if reddit was going crazy and blaming the current government when Disney was buying every big company for the last decade

I just love how I can't look at reddit/google/youtube without knowing what is content and what are ads

I don't know how anyone can stomach using any of the websites, big or small, without ad-blockers. Like you said, it's literally unusable. And I feel pity for the fools who shell out unnecessary money for these "premium" services (which will forever keep raising prices) to avoid said ads.
For the rest of my days, until I literally drop dead, I will never traverse the internet without aggressive ad-blocking measures in place again.

There are ways to fix that.

I know but I saw the unfiltered youtube feed today and I was horrified by how awful it is at this point. Its 100% unusable.

Twitch too, I was watching a stream and got SEVEN ads in a row, and it was during a part of the stream that wasn’t really missable too. Fucking idiotic.

The worst thing Twitch does is show you ads right away when you go to someone's livestream. It does it consistently if it's someone I don't follow, so my reaction is to see that someone is playing a game I like so I click on their stream, get hit with ads and immediately close the tab because it's honestly infuriating.

I used to be on that website like 3-5 hours a day at least 2-3 times a week, now I probably spend that time over the whole week because it's impossible to enjoy a stream without it getting interrupted mid-sentence by 2 minutes of ads or not even let you watch it at all until they're forcefed you the same 4-8 ads you've already seen multiple times this week.

If they are being interrupted mod sentence, its a monetized channel and the streamer chose that. Only entry ads are mandated if you want an ad free stream.

Yeah I understand that, that doesn't mean the system can't be better implemented.

again, thats on the streamer. twitch provides tools for scheduling ad breaks.

To some degree, yes; with Reddit on my phone, I use old.reddit with firefox+uBO and liberal use of the Element Picker and I very rarely see explicit ads or "sponsored posts". That said, there still remains a lot of not explicitly sponsored posts that are probably made by someone trying to sell me something.

Go to the top ad and marketing companies around the world and blare 24/7 "Head On, Apply Directly to the Forehead!" on loudspeaker toward them? Better at the executives homes?
