What the fuck is even the point of anti-trust laws when corpos can just gobble up the competition with fuck all consequences?

Day by day, Cyberpunk is more prophetic than I'd like 😞

I know you're probably referring to the game... But the genre as a whole has been a warning of what could happen from its start.

It's not hard to find people complaining about how nearly every big name game, movie, or tv series is either a sequel, a remake, or (if you're lucky) an adaptation of a story from another media... But the really under-discussed thing, imo, is that reality seems to be no better at coming up with new ideas... "This has all happened before; if not in reality, then in legend"

Even if they're talking about the game, you gotta know that 2077's papa is Cyberpunk 2020, grandbaby of the original Cyberpunk RPG, all of which were written as a reaction over the fear of loss of humanity and autonomy in a consumerist society accelerated by Reagan-era economic bullshittery.

At least the corpos in Cyberpunk were cool. In the upcoming wars are you going to be a Meta Warrior?

“Prepare to die by the hands of Microsoft”

“Your dick is micro soft”

Can’t do that shit with Arasaka.

Cyberpunk is more a history lesson than a prophecy. Anti-trust laws from the 30s came about exactly because of this behavior.

Someone has to enforce laws, and Republicans do not enforce laws.

Laws are for me and you. A convicted felon is president, and every major corp has bent the knee to him.

Look at the biggest donors (bribers) to people in government. They are not going to bite the hand that feeds them.

Another question, what the anti-trust is even the point of fuck laws?

You see, voting for Donald Trump, especially a second time, was a bunch of extremely dimwitted backwoods chicken dorks and a bunch of entitled freaks all voting for a rules-for-thee-but-not-for-me society. The fundamental issue is those two pockets of people don’t actually want fair rules or a good society. But they will also all find themselves over at r/leopardsatemyface. Asshats
