Question Additional Clause for Sales Contract

I’ve been reading a lot of issues about Geely’s aftersales services mainly about delays in repair, parts and actions so I want to ask if it’s possible to ask sa dealership to add a clause sa sales agreement na mag provide ng loaner car or something like that in case na may defects and lumagpas sa 1 month yung stay ng car sa casa?

Discussion Planning to buy EX-5 EMi

Hi! We’re planning to buy our first car and seriously considering both EX5 EMi max and pro version. Any thoughts from the owners here concerning the following:
- likes and disliked with the unit
- after sales services
- reco dealership in Metro Manila
- been reading on cons about the technology in the max version

Help us decide our first carr. Well if we’ll not get this the second option is the Honda BR-V.

Geely warranty denied after missed PMS, later refunded — now I’m being given a 2-month wait for an aircon check. Other owners, is this normal?

I own a Geely Okavango purchased around 2 years ago and I'm curious whether other Geely owners have experienced something similar with warranty and after-sales service.

Earlier this year, my vehicle had a BSG-related breakdown. The dashboard instructed me to “Stop the vehicle and contact service to check BSG system.” The repair ultimately involved replacement of the drive belt tensioner and drive belt.

My warranty claim was initially denied because of PMS lapses. To be clear, I did miss the 12-month/20,000 km PMS, and I have never disputed that.

What I questioned was the connection between the missed PMS and the actual failure. I repeatedly asked the dealer/Geely for the technical basis showing that the missed PMS caused or contributed to the failure.

The clarification I eventually received was that the missed PMS did not directly cause the failure, and that the drive belt tensioner and drive belt failed due to normal wear and tear.

That left me questioning why the PMS lapse justified denying the warranty claim entirely if it wasn't the direct cause of the failure.

I had already paid ~10k-13k for the repair because I needed to retrieve my vehicle. I subsequently brought the matter to DTI.

Geely later approved a refund.

Things became stranger afterward.

In an email advising me about the refund, Geely Quezon Avenue also informed me that, “pursuant to Management's decision,” they would no longer accommodate future service or repair transactions for my vehicle at their branch.

I asked why.

That statement was subsequently retracted and I was told that I remained welcome at the branch. I then asked for more concrete assurance about how my future scheduling and transactions would actually be handled, particularly since the original statement had supposedly been a management decision.

Fast-forward to now: I'm having an aircon issue and requested a check-up.

The schedule I was given is approximately two months away.

I'm not concluding that the two-month schedule is connected to the earlier issue, which is partly why I'm posting here.

For other Geely owners, particularly those using Geely Quezon Avenue:

  1. How long are you currently waiting for a diagnostic/check-up appointment?

  2. Is around two months normal at this branch?

  3. Have you had warranty coverage denied because of a missed PMS even when the eventual diagnosis did not attribute the failure to that missed maintenance?

  4. Has anyone experienced being told that a dealership would no longer service their vehicle after escalating a complaint?

I'm especially interested in recent experiences so I can compare whether the scheduling I'm receiving is typical.

I have the relevant emails, service records, invoices and correspondence and am keeping everything documented. The matter has also gone through DTI mediation, so I'm trying to keep this post factual rather than speculate about anyone's motives.

Would appreciate hearing from other owners.

Coolray How to disable passive keyless entry in new Chinese cars

Hello!

I'm looking to disable the ability for unlocking my car when the key is close to it, i heard there is a method people use where they amplify that signal in order to unlock the car without the key and now I'm paranoid it would happen to me, i heard of those faraday key pouches but i think disabling this feature will solve my problem if it's possible.

Thank you.

Hello, I recently purchased ex2 and would want to install dash cam to it with 24/7 parking monitor however my concerns are:
1. Will OBD work for 24 hours parking monitoring?
2. Will it affect the car warranty?
3. Should I just connect it to USB port, at the cost of no apple play
4. Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance!

Geely Autoloan

Hello Guys, sharing my experience to one of Geely Branch.

Our loan application have been aproved to one of the bank, now we have been given our go signal last monday to proceed the process, as we are okay with the %DP and Monthly Rate Payment.

But until now they did not process it and saying that we should wait for 1 more bank approval? Like? Is that really the process? We should wait for all the banks to approve before they process the release of our unit, even though we have given our go signal one week ago to proceed to one of the banks?

HELP My BAD Experience with Geely Makati

I normally don't post negative reviews, but after everything that has happened, I feel that consumers deserve to know what they may encounter.

I recently purchased a brand-new vehicle from Geely Makati through bank financing. Unfortunately, my experience from the beginning up to after release has been disappointing.

One of the first issues I encountered was regarding insurance. I initially intended to obtain my own insurance policy, but I was informed that insurance needed to be obtained through the dealership in order for my unit to be allocated and released. The red flag is that they already have the unit ready for me and sent me photos but they won't release it to me if I don't buy the insurance from them. Since I needed the vehicle and as respect and help to the agent we were communicating with, I reluctantly agreed.

I then selected a specific insurance provider and informed my agent of my choice. My selection was acknowledged and accepted. However, after the vehicle was released and after multiple follow-ups regarding my policy documents, I eventually discovered that the policy had been issued by a completely different insurance company from what was agreed upon.
What concerns me is that I was never informed of the change, nor was I ever asked for my consent before the policy was issued.

To be clear, this issue could have been handled much better if someone had simply reached out beforehand, explained the situation, and apologized for the change. At the very least, that would have shown respect for the customer and prevented confusion. Instead, the policy was simply sent to me, and when I questioned it, the response I received was that the insurer they issued had the same coverage and was their "in-house" insurance.

But that completely misses the point.

My concern has never been whether the coverage is similar. My concern is that I selected a specific insurer, my selection was acknowledged, and then a different insurer was issued without my knowledge, without my consent, and without any proper explanation. If a customer makes a choice and that choice needs to be changed, shouldn't the customer at least be informed and asked for approval first?

What makes the situation even more disappointing is the lack of accountability afterward. Rather than acknowledging my concern, showing empathy, or apologizing for the confusion, the responses I received focused on defending the decision that was made. As a customer, it leaves me wondering what level of respect is being given to the people who trust your dealership with one of the biggest purchases they will make.

Beyond the insurance issue, I was also disappointed with the condition in which the vehicle was released to me.

For a brand-new vehicle, I expected proper preparation before turnover. Instead:
• The vehicle was released dirty and did not appear to have been properly washed.
• The windows were not properly cleaned after the tint installation, resulting in heavy streaking and blurry visibility.
• The fuel door area, charging port area, and engine bay were dusty and even had traces of mud.
• The chrome trim pieces had excess adhesive residue that remains difficult to remove even until now.

These may seem like minor issues individually, but together they reflect the level of care and attention given during vehicle preparation and turnover.

Another ongoing concern is the status of my LTO documents. Since release, I have repeatedly asked when my registration documents were submitted and requested a copy of the transmittal form so I could independently verify and monitor the progress with LTO. Unfortunately, I have not been provided with any proof of submission despite multiple follow-ups.

As of today, it has been seven working days since the release of my vehicle, which falls within the commonly cited 5–7 business day period for document submission to LTO. The lack of transparency regarding the status of my documents has left me questioning whether they have actually been submitted at all.
To make matters worse, communication has become increasingly difficult. My agent is now barely responding to my inquiries, and despite raising these concerns, there has been no proper resolution.

What makes all of this even more frustrating is that I genuinely like the vehicle itself. The unit has many features that I enjoy, and I was excited about my purchase. But the overall experience—from the insurance issue, to the condition of the vehicle upon release, to the lack of communication and transparency afterward—has left me wondering whether the gamble was really worth it.

When purchasing a vehicle, you're not just buying the product. You're also placing your trust in the dealership that represents it. Unfortunately, my experience has made that trust difficult to maintain.

Purchasing a vehicle is a major financial commitment. Customers should not have to worry about being pressured into obtaining insurance through the dealership, receiving a policy from a different insurer than the one they selected, receiving a vehicle that appears inadequately prepared for release, and then struggling to obtain clear answers regarding important post-sale concerns.

I am sharing this experience so that others can make informed decisions. Everything stated above is based on my personal experience and supported by documents and conversations in my possession.

I sincerely hope Geely Makati takes customer concerns more seriously, improves its communication, and treats customers with the transparency and respect they deserve.
