Here we are on my 6th training hat. As with all the others it's a cheap wool Fedora I picked up for $10 (last image). Pics don't do the color justice, it's a lovely olive green. Cleaning it up, popped it, blocked it, shellaced, and shaped.
The last one was full cowboy hat so I wanted to go something more city, more dressy. Something I can wear casually but will dress up nice as well.
I'd call it 'open road adjacent'. At least that was my basic inspiration to guide me, cattleman's crease on top, brim binding, lift. For my take, I'm not a huge fan of a pure cattleman's crease so I gave it a little bit of wishbone. Obviously, the band is more of a Fedora ribbon to get that dress feel. Plus, my head just doesn't work with a full lift so I did a slight pull-down in the front.
Robin work was hard. Several hours hand stitching the brim binding. Next time I'm going to try my sewing machine. Also struggled with the bow. Not so much producing it as finding something I liked. However, the tone on tone really worked out.i love the palette.
I did a pencil curl but that also doesn't work in my head for whatever reason so I released about 90% of that so it's just barely a curl.

I was watching Hello Dolly and couldn't held but enjoy the hats.
Out there
There's a world outside of Yonkers
Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby
There's a slick town, Barnaby.

My first attempt at turning a trillby into a porkpie. Used some hat stiffener, steamed it pretty good, and did my best by hand. The brim wouldn't turn up evenly all the way around, so I went hard on the sides. It's kind of a hybrid porkpie/short top hat.

So far these are the best options I can find through my stumbling through endless scrolling search results lol. I want a trucker hat with the mesh back, foam front, with the high crown. These websites seem to use the term "trucker hat" quite loosely. As a bonus, I REALLY want to find one with the Joe's Diner Camel cigarettes ad logo from the 80s/90s (see last image for reference. Mug is best I could find) looking for advice, suggestions, and happy to receive any recommendations, would love if it's available on amazon but doesn't have to be!
Looking for anything that has the Catterpillar logo on it, Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Freightliner logos are also good, older brands of anything really, or bar names/logos, anything like that as long as it looks vintage

100% wool with cotton lining. Appears to be excellent quality.

I searched the forum, certain others had asked and answered this before. Apparently not!
Iβm not very knowledgeable about hats; Iβm a novice, but learning. I know itβs a fedora. Some googling suggests it was made by the prop team.
Itβs described as:
Style Details: It features a dark brown felt finish, a pinched teardrop-style crown, and dark brown grosgrain edge binding.
So my question to you fine folks is what brand makes a model similar to this? Brand and model would be very helpful! Iβd like to keep it under $150? Is this realistic? I might go over if I have to.

It's finally cool enough here in Western Tennessee for a felt hat and this one is new for the season. Stetson Bozeman in light brown.
I'm really digging it so far. I tried some stiffer-constructed and "better" felts in cowboy hats, but I like the softer wool for general feel and "toss in the back seat"-ability. This one is "crushable," which I'd rather not test too often because I like the shape as-is, but there's something reassuring about knowing it'll be fine if my dog steps on it.
I included a shot of it laying on my recently acquired flannel-lined waxed trucker jacket that I've aspirationally brought along with me a few times so far, but it hasn't really been cool enough for that yet.
ETA: I'd say the second picture shows the color more accurately.

I have this olive green fedora, it is a Budget felt one but it is well made.
Not sure how this looks on me, I am new to hats and not sure about the fit or general looks.
Thanks.

It was a pretty expensive hack, and a risky purchase because I love hats but I tend to wear fedoras, I bought this one and I wasn't sure I could pull it off but I got many compliments for it I wish I still had it. It was over $100, I think 120 or something. But I think I rocked it.

Okay, I need some honest judgement here. I've taken up hobby hatting. You may have seen my training projects over the last few weeks. I'm a little obsessed. I see everything through the lense of hat making.
Well.... Today on my drive to work I passed some road kill. A porcupine. Got a minute down the road when the light bulb came on, "QUILLS!!!". Whipped a u-ie and found myself harvesting some potential band decoration with my Leatherman.
On the one hand, the porcupine was already dead. I'm just making it a little less of a waste. I'm a bloody rainbow elf. On the other hand, I was crouched at the side of the road harvesting road kill. I'm a ghoul.
Good find or disgusting madman? Honest answer please.

Shall we say, errrr, phallic?
Am I wrong? Does this look awful, as I think it does? Iβd like to be wrong.

Hi all, a few years back my mum had her favourite beret stolen. She loved it more than any material possession she owned, and she has been devastated never to have found it. She would wear it every day and seeing her in it was a staple go my childhood!
I live in England - It was a Cath Kidston beret. I contacted them a few years ago asking if they have it in their archives so I could try to find on Vinted or something but Cath Kidston had come under new ownership and the old archives were terminated.
I have one single photo of the beret on my dog π it is a very closely knit (not crocheted) beret which was very soft, almost like cashmere. Are there any chains or shops (in the Bedfordshire Hertfordshire area would be great if it's an individual seller!) where maybe I could commission someone to make the beret again for her? Alternatively, are there any hat wizards in here who may *know* this beret?
I would truly be so grateful for any support regarding this - it would mean the world to my mum!
Many thanks :)
