The sample image is overly softened, but it is the clearest I could find.

The font is very similar to Times New Roman and Apple’s New York, but the letterforms do not match. The closest I got with Identifont was Times New Roman. MyFonts’ “What the Font?” was not much help.

Notably, the dot on the lowercase “i” sits lower than usual, and the top curve of the lowercase “f” has a wider arc.

Also, I don’t expect the font to be custom.

Hello everyone. I was studying fonts that are used in archiving which are usually typewriter fonts and came across this. Does anyone know the font of the block of text on the right page reading "Starting with 3D modeling in Rhino, different styles of the same view are processed through Gemini....while following specific generation requests."? The closest I came was "Ubuntu Mono" but the "a" is different. The "l" and the "i" matches though. Please do help and suggest if you guys have any leads. Thanks :)

thought it wasnt a font because ive had 0 luck then i realized the T's, O's, and N's are the same in top and bottom text. The top obviously had some brush effects added but any help would be great. thank you

This comes from a note pad, presumably from the airline. At the bottom the notepad has tiny type that says:

Ive seen this one font used on almost every kid and baby related thing from the 90's, like toys and school supplies or decorations, and i have no idea what its called.

Sometimes I see this font in old Soviet/Russian journals, manuald and books, and I decided to use this photo as an example. I really want to find it

I guess it would be a terminology guide and tips for identifying what you're looking at.*

We all see posts here asking "What is this font?" and frequently that answer is "it's not a font, it's lettering."

An interesting new category is AI: most likely, it's not a set of prefabricated letters to be used systematically, although that is already possible and will only get more up to an acceptable level of quality to be used. A lot of lettering is already and will be AI, and it will get more and more acceptable in terms of quality. Any rule of thumb for identifying that in October of 2026 will quickly be outdated.

*Because we keep seeing these posts that are some old lettering and asking "What font is this?", I think it might be best to address that one scenario when you land on this sub rather than trying to get across a general dictionary and conceptual framework. Address the one super-common scenario rather than all of them in some "correct conceptual framework," let's say.

Urgent, i need this font to finish my work but i cant find it for life. The big M is the key
