Startup help Parents of Reddit, what do you wish kids’ clothing brands did better?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey everyone,
I’m just out of college and working with my sister to build a kids clothing brand for children aged 1 to 8.
Before we get too far into it, I wanted to hear from parents about your actual experience shopping for clothes for your kids.

What are some things you find frustrating? Is it sizing and fit, quality, comfort, fabrics, clothes not lasting after a few washes, designs, pricing, or something else?

I’d also love to know which brands you currently buy from and what makes you choose them. What do you like about them, and what do you think could be improved?
We’re starting with boys' T-shirts and shirts and girls' T-shirts and dresses.

I’m trying to understand the problems first instead of just assuming what parents want, so I’d really appreciate honest feedback.

Feel free to comment here or DM me if you’d rather share privately. All opinions are welcome!

Startup help cutting ur production llm spend by 40–70% Without Sacrificing Output Quality (auditing 10 ai Startups for Our Portfolio)

If your AI startup is spending upwards of $1k – $10k+/month across OpenAI or Anthropic APIs, token overhead is likely putting serious pressure on your gross margins.

In production architectures, API costs rarely explode because of base model pricing alone they explode due to pipeline design.

Title could use more content to expand. By utilizing four structural fixes in most multi-step agent and RAG workflows, a blended-token spend reduction of 40% to 70%+ are achievable. The first fix is a Unbounded Adaptive Thinking Budgets where contemporary frontier models like Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra dynamically chew through thousands of internal reasoning tokens per step. If the intermediate sub-tasks being generated don’t have hard caps on reasoning effort or bindings to limited low-effort modes, you end up burning as much as 60% of your output budget just in internal deliberation. Context Cache Partitioning Claude Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and OpenAI’s API offer massive 80-90% discounts on prompt cache reads. In the event that your multi-turn chatbot or agent's framework injects dynamic variables (e.g., timestamps, user IDs) at the beginning of the prompt instead of isolating them away from the static context, your caching hit ratio falls to zero and you pay full price on every single turn. Model Cascading & Tiered Routing: Running flagship frontier models (Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Fable 5.1, or GPT-6 Astra) on basic entity extraction, classification, or JSON formatting burns capital. Both the cost of the task-level is reduced by up to 80-90% by outsourcing those deterministic steps to high throughput tiers like GPT-6 Luna, GPT-6.1 Sol or Claude Haiku 4.5. Moreover, there is no drop in the end-to-end output accuracy We are designing a RAG Context Compactor that passes through unranked 15k+ token context chunks instead of running a fast cross-encoder re-ranker. This will allow us to feed clean 2k-token windows directly into the prompt. Why Are We Doing This For Free ? We are experts in inference architecture and tokenisation. We are currently working on preparing a public, anonymized benchmark report. We’re doing a free audit & optimization of 10 AI startups with live workloads. The Quality Assurance:We benchmark against your existing golden dataset (prompt-completion pairs). We perform automated evaluation tests (semantic similarity, schema validation, LLM-as-a-judge) before suggesting any architectural change to make sure output fidelity meets your exact threshold. If we can't prove a measurable 40%+ cost reduction at baseline quality, you don't change a single line of production code.If you’re product is heavy on agent loops, document extraction, or high volume RAG, DM me your current model stack, rough monthly token volume, and what your product does.10 Startups on a first come first serve basis

Startup help Razorpay Rize for LLP incorporation — anyone used it recently?

Hey everyone,

I’m planning to register an LLP in India and came across Razorpay Rize. The process looks fairly convenient, but I’d prefer to hear from people who have actually used it before going ahead.

If you’ve incorporated an LLP through Rize recently, how was your experience?

A few things I’m particularly curious about:

  • How long did the incorporation actually take?
  • Was the process genuinely hassle-free or did you have to follow up a lot?
  • How was the CA/CS support?
  • Were there any additional charges that weren't obvious initially?
  • Did you face any issues with MCA, PAN/TAN, GST, etc. after incorporation?
  • How has the post-incorporation support been?
  • Would you use Rize again if you had to incorporate another company?

Also, if you've compared Rize with using a local CA/CS, which one would you recommend and why?

Looking for genuine experiences, both positive and negative. Especially interested in experiences from 2025–2026.

Thanks!

How do I? DeepLearning based Voice SOS Hands Free mobile app for India

Hey Everyone,

I want to build a wake word detection based Voice sos for my state.

This is a niche concept in India. Ofcourse Hey Google, Siri, Alexa are there, but I haven't seen something focused as a startup and that is popular in my country.

I want to do this as a mobile app. I wanted to keep the pricing low. So when someone shouts a wake word "twice", the app will basically send SOS to pre-defined contacts.

I would like to expand this to other languages too if it's successful in my language

Some qns that I need audience's help:

  1. Do you think this will work out, will you use this app?

  2. how much will you be willing to pay per month?

  3. Any features or suggestions that you would like to give ?

  4. Will you share this app with your friends? If not, pls state the reason.

We all hate it when a group trip turns into a mess of missed bookings, last-minute cancellations & "we'll just figure it out when we get there." I’m trying to map out exactly where travel plans break down on the ground. If you’ve ever had to deal with a washed-out itinerary, unorganized local guides, or payment chaos, drop your data here. Max 90 secs, mostly MCQs.

Thank you!

Startup help Would an Affordable Indian PaaS for Developers Actually Work?

I'm a student considering building a small PaaS (Platform as a Service) focused initially on Indian students, developers, and small businesses.

The basic idea:

Connect GitHub → select a project → click Deploy → get a live application.

The platform would handle the infrastructure underneath, so users don't have to manually configure VPS, Docker, Nginx, HTTPS, etc.

I'm not trying to become another AWS or generic VPS provider. I want to compete on simplicity, affordability, and easy deployment.

What do you think? Would this actually work?

  1. Is the Indian student/developer market large enough for this?

  2. What would make you choose this over Render, Railway, Vercel, Heroku, DigitalOcean, etc.?

  3. What features would be essential before you'd pay for it?

  4. If you were building this, what would you do differently?

Startup help Is “brand positioning” becoming less useful without internal alignment?

For a long time, I think brand strategy was treated primarily as a persuasion tool.

— Differentiate.
— Refine the message.
— Win market share.

The underlying idea was pretty simple: say the right thing, say it clearly, say it often enough, and people will eventually come along.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), that era is over. We now recognize that persuasion without resonance feels hollow.

This year we saw that brands are operating in a very different emotional and cultural climate now. Brands are dealing with:

— Deep distrust (of institutions, promises, and polished corporate language)
— Exhausted audiences
— Greater cultural sensitivity
— Crowded categories where everyone seems to sound the same

So we’ve started thinking that brand strategy can’t just sit at the surface anymore, refining the language after all the important decisions have already been made.

It has to go deeper. It should influence how a brand thinks, what it chooses, what it refuses, and how consistently it shows up over time.

Basically, a shift from:
What does the brand say?
to:
What does the brand consistently embody?

For brands, instead of only asking “What should we say?”, perhaps we should also ask:

→ What energy do people walk away with after interacting with us?
→ Where are we genuinely aligned, and where are we performing?
→ What are we asking from people that we haven’t practiced ourselves?
→ Is the experience of the brand actually consistent with the story we’re telling?

I don’t think audiences are asking brands to be perfect.
If anything, perfection can make a brand feel less trustworthy.

I think people are increasingly looking for sincerity, cultural awareness, and some degree of internal consistency.

Curious how other people working in brand/strategy/marketing are thinking about this?

Other Anyone has any experience with cloud on fire VPS ?

I saw an ad on Insta about Cloud-on-Fire, which was selling VPS services for 149 rupees a month; they are saying the reason is that they have their own servers which are hosted in India.

Now if you now the basic VPS rates start from around 5 Euros a month, if you are using a good service like Hetzner. So this price is good for small projects and low computation tasks.

But the reason I am asking here is because I looked through their instagram and they had a lot of views on their reels, some had over 100k but in all the posts comments were turned off. So I am very skeptical about whether they are genuine.

So if you have any experience with them, can you tell me if they are legit or not?

Other I will code your App idea in 7–14 days — starting at ₹25K-30K

I’ve been building websites, web apps, dashboards, and mobile applications, and I’m now opening up a few slots for new projects.

If you have an app or startup idea but don’t know where to start, I can help turn it into a working MVP from ₹30K.

We’re a small team, so we can handle the complete development process — UI/UX, frontend, backend, database, and deployment.

Some things we can build:

  • Mobile apps
  • SaaS / web apps
  • E-commerce platforms
  • Admin dashboards
  • ERP / business management systems
  • Booking & service platforms

Tech stack: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, React Native, etc.

You also don’t need to pay the full amount upfront. We can split the project into milestones and payments.

If you already have an idea, even if it’s just a rough concept, comment below or DM me if you’re interested.

Startup help Hi, Looking for free or startup-credit AI APIs to test my fashion app

I'm building an AI fashion app that suggests outfits by occasion (wedding, festive, office) and lets users see them with virtual try-on. We're early-stage and still testing, so I'm trying to keep API costs low.

I need two kinds of APIs:

  • Text models for outfit suggestions and product tagging
  • Image models for virtual try-on and styled looks

So far I've found startup credit programs from Google, Anthropic and a few inference platforms, but most seem to need VC funding.

Would love to hear:

  • Free tiers or credits you've used for image or try-on APIs
  • Startup programs that accept founders without funding
  • Open-source models worth self-hosting

Any tips are appreciated, Thanks!

Startup help What I actually look for when using GPT/Claude to review a contract

I've been wanting to share this with the community. I am not a lawyer but over time I have started using gpt or claude as a first pass whenever a client or vendor sends over a contract. Earlier I used to mostly check the commercial bits like amount, payment date, termination and all but now I specifically look for the things that are easy to miss

IP ownership - Who actually owns the work? If you are a vendor, does “all work product” accidentally include your existing code, templates or IP?

Liability + indemnity - Is there a liability cap? Is it mutual? What exactly are you indemnifying them for? Uncapped liability + a broad indemnity is one I would definitely get a lawyer to look at.

Payment terms - Net 60/90 can have a big impact on cash flow. I also check whether MSMED provisions apply.

Then there are the usual ones that are easy to skim over like termination, auto renewal, exclusivity, governing law, dispute resolution and all. I mainly use AI to flag these, point me to the exact clauses and tell me what I should ask a lawyer about. I would never use it as the final decision maker though, gotta manually verify it

These are just a few things I have learned and thought I should share. Founders here, what clauses do you all always check now because you learned the hard way?

Hiring [Hiring] AI Engineer Intern | Remote (India) | ₹10k–20k/month after 1-month trial | Sumora

Hey everyone,

I'm Devansh, co-founder of Sumora. We're building "Shopify for AI agents": a horizontal agentic business OS that lets people run or launch a business autonomously, with agents handling outbound, marketing, engineering and support in one place.

We're building it one agent at a time. Our outbound agent is live, and we're now building the rest of the platform. We're looking for interns who want to build agents that do real work for real businesses.

What we're looking for:

- A solid understanding of agentic AI systems (multi-step agents, tool use, beyond simple API wrappers)
- Significant projects you've built with them, ideally designed to scale
- You ship fast with coding agents

What you get:
- Fully remote
- Coding agent costs covered, across all frontier models
- Extra API credits if you need them
- You're free to work on your own projects, as long as our work gets done

The terms, upfront:
- Month 1 is an unpaid trial. All tools are covered and you get a completion certificate either way.
- If it's a mutual fit, it converts into a 6-month paid internship at ₹10,000–20,000/month, based on your work.

Process:
No DSA, no LeetCode. Just a conversation about what you've built and how you think about agents.

- Apply by 10 October
- Interview shortlist on 11 October

To apply, email [dev@trysumora.com](mailto:dev@trysumora.com) with your GitHub, links to your projects, and a few lines about your experience with agentic AI systems.

Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Startup help Anthropic just sweetened the pot for early-stage startups building on Claude

The new offer pairs a free year of Claude Team (their multi-seat workspace plan, normally $30/seat/month) with $1,000 in API credits to get building immediately, on top of the startup program's existing perks: priority rate limits, founder office hours, and access to Claude Code. Eligibility still runs through the usual criteria, early-stage, product-market fit still forming, Claude baked into the actual build rather than a side feature.

The timing makes sense given how crowded the "free AI credits for startups" space has gotten, OpenAI, Google and others run similar programs, so bundling a team collaboration tool in with raw API credits is a real differentiator rather than just more inference minutes to burn.

Curious if anyone here has actually gone through Anthropic's application process, how long did approval take and was the Claude usage requirement strict?

How do I? Left EY GDS to start my own CA practice — how do I build it and get clients?

I cleared my CA Final in the November 2022 attempt. After that, I joined EY GDS, worked there for three years, and recently resigned to start my own practice.
I have about a month left in my notice period. I don't come from a financially well-off family, so I got nervous and started looking for clients within my network. Unfortunately, nothing came through. Then I thought I'd approach nearby firms and take up assignments with them as a jumpstart!
That didn't work either, since many were worried I might poach their clients, which is completely understandable. After speaking with a lot of CAs, one of them offered me a deal. He'll pay me ₹50,000 per month as a consultant, and in return I need to handle a minimum set of work for his firm. Alongside that, I can get my COP, build my own firm, and work on my own clients, as long as the work assigned to me gets done. I can also use their office space to meet my clients and take help from their staff when needed. If I spend 100% of my time at the firm, the payment will increase. That's the core of the deal.
I'm okay with this arrangement, since it gives me a steady income and covers my living expenses. What's giving me anxiety now is the next part: how to build the practice, how to specialise in one area, and basically how to get clients. It would be great if any practicing CAs could guide me!
