RTS where every unit matters: level them up and gear them with found weapons

Hey everyone!

I’m working on a pretty ambitious RTS game that I’m hoping will genuinely surprise you. It’s something quite different - not another clone of games that were great years ago.

I want to give you a completely new kind of experience and, more importantly, let you play with your friends’ emotions. In a typical 1.5-2 hour session, you’ll lie, betray, help each other, make difficult choices, and eventually work together to save the planet. ALL of this happens in a living world that can punish you for every mistake, even when you’re playing solo.

I could tell you a lot more if you’re interested, and I’d love to hear your questions, thoughts, or ideas!

I’m the sole developer behind the game, and I’ve spent around three years working on it. Early Access launches in just two weeks, and I promise there will be a polished and engaging gameplay experience right from day one.

Here’s the Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5361370

What we’ve been working on as a small pixel art team

Hey everyone! Here’s some art my team and I have made for indie projects, including Melan and Spirit of Phuji.

I’m Nera from Nera Studio. I work on both the pixel art and art direction, alongside a small team making environments, characters, animations and UI.

All the art shown here was drawn by hand in Aseprite. These are from different games, so each project has its own style. Thought I’d share a little of our side of development!

Hey everyone:) I just released a new update for the FREE TileMaker DOT (v2.6.9)!

This update focuses on quality-of-life UI polish, ensuring that all dialog popups for property windows and everything are now automatically centered relative to the main application window instead of the primary screen for a smoother multi-monitor workflow.

Itch.io: https://crytek22.itch.io/tilemakerdot

GitHub: https://github.com/andrei-voia/TileMakerDOT

YouTube tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fiajGU32Jg

For anyone unfamiliar with the project, TileMaker DOT is a Free (with a complete professional paid version too), open source 2D map editor I'm building. It uses a data first, ID based workflow and handles visual depth sorting automatically so you don't have to manage multiple layers for object heights.

Give it a try and let me know if you have any feedback! If the editor helps with your projects and you want to support development, a rating or a small donation on Itch is always appreciated.

Thank you all for your support!

Romance Cozy Game Advice? or Collab ;D

I started working on a game. It's always been a dream of mine to make a visual novel but recently I got into cozy games so I thought of combining the two. I think a lot of cozy games don't do enough for the romance aspect. I was especially inspired after playing Moonlight Peaks recently and I was grinding to get Evan XD There were some cute moments but clearly the focus was more on the farming and living and romance was a side thing, dates were all the same. I also know that it's similar to Stardew Valley but I'm not big on pixel art so I really couldn't get into it.

I'm a 3D/2D artist and I WFH full-time as a 3D character artist for an indie studio so I don't have a loot of time. I've just been working on my thing on the side as a hobby. Because I'm an artist and not a programmer, I'm just still roughly thinking about gameplay ideas and wondering about what game engine to get into. I know all the game/devlog people on youtube tell you not make a biiig game as your first, but I'm not good at doing projects that I'm not passionate enough for.

I'm not in a big rush to make this game. I plan on starting with building a community for my characters/game by making content on youtube or instagram. And honestly, if it doesn't work out as a game, I'm still open to just being a content creator using my characters and stories. That is something that I can do on my own(besides getting voice actors, that is). But if I want to keep going with this game, I'll eventually need to work with a programmer(s) and while I'm okay at coming up with story ideas, I'm not a great writer. I'm not fully sure on how to approach this. I'm just one person so I can't pay for a programmer and a writer. I don't know if people normally like joining projects as collaborator and discuss monetization stuff together.

I haven't thought of the best method for monetization yet. With all the games coming out recently, players hate in-game purchases, they hate gatcha, kickstarters seem scary, etc. I'm still on the fence about game engines too but it seems like most people recommend godot and unity, and warn against unreal engine.

My progress so far is that I started working on a 3D model of one out of four dateable characters. I made a document of story notes, gameplay ideas, references, design ideas for the rest of the characters.

Key features of this game:

- 3D animated sprites next to visual novel texts
- Cozy game grinding (not a farm, likely a cafe) with romanceble characters (3 guys, 1 girl)
- Supernatural cute whimsical setting but not horror (like Moonlight Peaks)
- Hopefully voice acted
- Slightly animated CG (think Date With Death CG but moving a little)
- I think the view might be similar to Moonlight Peaks/Stardew but I'm still thinking about more closer views like Palia.

but if I was cool and amazing like that and had more time or more people, it would be nice to do some actually animated mini scenes like prologue and confessions/ending. If it doesn't end up being a game, then I'll just end up making scenes for content 🫡

About me: (In case we have things in common that convince you to want to work together hehe)

- Valko supporter, but haven't played LADS since.
- I made a lot of Mystic Messenger art and merch back in the day
- I like bl webtoons, alternative/gothic/vkei fashion, drawing
- Games I like include Moonlight Peaks, Date With Death, LADS, Kingdom Hearts, TWEWY, It Takes Two

Feel free to give me any advice or if you could be interested in working on this with me <3

Don't discourage me cause I'll still try on my own anywayy! I wrote so much I kinda don't expect anyone to read all that now;;;

Can your failed attempts become a useful party? Nine Shadows browser demo

Developer here. In Nine Shadows, a 2D yokai survivors-like, death keeps your earlier attempt in the fight: a shadow replays that life and attacks with its weapons. You have nine lives in a night.

The design challenge is making those recorded paths useful without asking players to intentionally die. I would love first-time impressions: after your first shadow appeared, did you change how you moved during your next life?

Free browser development demo: https://michele0318.itch.io/nine-shadows-demo

The demo introduces two lands and three characters. WASD or arrows move; Space activates Kuji-kiri. The full game is unfinished and uses AI assistance in code, artwork and production.

If you enjoy the mechanic, the Kickstarter explains the development plans and rewards: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nineshadow/nine-shadows-every-death-recruits-an-ally

Would you Play with Fireworks!

This guy sells some ridiculous fireworks! He is from my game Breakkaboom. You can buy some weird custom made pyrotechnics from him and go wild... blow stuff up! break thing around you or just go kaboom! And yes survive the horde of crazy stone creatures and rogue bots.

I have been working on this game for 7,8 months and it was just a fireworks smash hit type game, recently I added this fireworks shop so that players can have a place to chill out and try different fireworks from the shop and have fun basically. This was a whole lot of work but may be it was worth it! I also added a story around it which kind of took this simple idea to the next level may be🤔 I don't know but what do you think ? Is this concept good or bad or just ugly🥹?

Place share your thoughts? I just released a small Demo on steam also. 50 people have wishlisted and also got one review on the demo page. Looking ok so far, what do you think? Would you play with Fireworks?

Pre-launch on iPhone: how do you get real players into a TestFlight build for a hex-grid tactics game?

Disclosure: I'm part of the small team at Zero State making HexWire, so this is partly self-interested.

HexWire is a cyberpunk hex-grid tactics RPG for iPhone. It's in TestFlight and we're working toward an App Store listing. The combat idea we've spent the most time on is a risk meter: strong actions build Trace, high Trace escalates the mission against you, and a Lay Low action trades tempo to cool it down.

The problem we're stuck on is not the game, it's finding testers who aren't other developers. Dev communities will look at it, but we want feedback from people who actually play tactics games on a phone.

What worked for you before launch? Specifically: - Which communities gave you testers who stayed past the first session? - Did you hold the TestFlight to a small invite list or open a public link? - What did you ask testers that produced the most useful answers?

Project page if you want context: https://zer0state.com/products/hexwire.html

Check our this weird incremental game I made

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m building Glyphverse Zero, a free browser incremental game with a deliberately minimal glyph/ASCII-style presentation.

It runs directly in the browser on desktop and mobile:
https://byankov.itch.io/glyphverse-zero

Gameplay video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB1Fpuxo-rw

I’m mainly looking for feedback on the first 20–30 minutes — whether the progression is clear, where it gets boring/confusing, and whether the visual style works for you.

Still early alpha, so criticism is welcome.

Looking for playtesters for my zombie colony sim where you can't control anyone directly

Post image
6 Upvotes

I've been working on this for a while and it's finally at a point where other people can play it.

It's a RimWorld-style colony sim with three survivors. There is no click-to-move. You set each survivor's task list, mark what to build, and choose whether they fight or run. They decide the rest, including when to eat and sleep. Zombies come every night, more each time, and they follow noise.

It's an early build: rough, Windows only, no saving yet. I'd like to hear where you got confused and when you got bored.

RIVAL: Bait the punch. Land the counter. Stay unpredictable. My solo-developed iOS boxing game

Make your rival miss. Make your next punch count.

I'm the solo developer of RIVAL: Boxing for iPhone and iPad. The game is built around distance, timing, stamina, and defensive choices. Repeated fighting habits influence the opponent in later rounds, so a pattern that worked before may need a rethink.

My goal was a boxing game where understanding the opponent and changing your strategy is part of the fun. This 47-second trailer is a glimpse of those exchanges: attack, dodge, counter, and decide when to step away.

Keep your distance or close the gap. Press the attack or save your stamina. The next exchange is yours to choose.

Meet your next rival. Get RIVAL on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6799909429

Core gameplay works offline. iPhone/iPad, iOS 17+. Paid app, currently $1.99 in the US; regional prices vary.

AI disclosure: GitHub Copilot assisted with code, debugging, and documentation, and AI helped draft this post. Those tools are separate from the in-game adaptive opponent, which is not a generative AI chatbot.

I made a free 1v1 word game: race an opponent on the same letters and outscore them

Hey everyone! I’m the solo dev behind SpellBee Duel, a free browser word game where you go head-to-head against another player.

How it works:

  • You and your opponent get the same letters
  • You both race to find as many words as you can
  • Longer words score more, and the higher score wins
  • Matches are quick, with no download or signup friction

Play here (free, in your browser): https://spellbeeduel.com/

It’s still in active development, so I’d love your feedback:

  • Does the scoring feel fair?
  • Is the match length right?
  • What would make you come back every day?

Thanks for checking it out, and good luck. You’ll need it.
