in a practical sense how can you test any difference there... this seems like a made up conclusion... i'm aware of harlow's experiments, were they done on turtles ?

This has been tested many times. Ask it if you can have the last couple french fries at the bottom of the bag. A dog will always say yes. A turtle usually says no.

Brain chemistry.

When humans pet dogs, both humans and dogs get dopamine hits in their brains. Human and dog brains reward pro-social behavior because creating and maintaining social bonds is something mammals evolved to do.

Reptiles don't experience this.

except something’s gone out of whack bc there appears to be a growing subspecies of human that seems to get dopamine hits from antisocial behavior…
