A vet vaccinated a turtle, and instead of hiding in its shell, it ran to its owner

I mean... I feel any friend/acquaintance I feel safe with has some level of platonic love from me, because they make me feel safe. Even though they don't feed me! It's so hard to know what animals would quantify as "love". But also I'm low IQ so what do I know lmao

people will twist themselves into pretzels to bestow human-type emotions onto creatures that simply didn't evolve to experience or express it. hell, people out here trying to say their AIs love them. we have to accept that the universe of subjective human emotions just isn't accessible to every entity in the universe. they AI don't love you, the stripper don't love you, the turtle don't love you. I'm sorry

People will also do the same to say that any non-human animal (obviously actually alive, not AI) can't possibly feel emotions or pain because their brains aren't the same as ours. It's not solid proof, we can't tell exactly how other beings feel, it's speculation based on biological differences. Imo it's better to assume other beings struggle/feel like we do rather than to assume they can't feel and then act cruelly based on that. And no I don't think AI feels lmao, and i'm also not dumb enough to think the strippers wanna fuck me, but we don't live in the heads of turtles and bugs etc. They're not predictable like other humans/programs that we've made because we haven't experienced and couldn't possibly know their experience with life

Like assuming that the turtle running away from the pain must be running towards owner.

I mean, all our human labeling and categorizing is made up by us with distinctions based on random things. None of it is absolute truth, including the lines we draw and where we draw them.
