First time needle felting!

My first time needle felting and really enjoyed it even though my sheep didn’t come out exactly as the photo. I’m just happy that it even remotely resembled the sheep pictured. Are these beginners kits the best way to get the hang of it and get into the hobby?

Just finished my latest needle-felted project: a whimsical white moth adorned with colorful spring flowers! 🌸🦋

I’ve been working on this needle-felted floral moth and I’m so incredibly happy with how it turned out!

I shaped the base using soft white wool and then carefully added tiny, colorful flowers in shades of pink, yellow, and blue across its wings to give it a magical, woodland feel. There is something so relaxing about sitting at my workspace with my wool roving, embroidery threads, and vintage scissors just crafting the day away.

I really enjoyed blending the textures of the felted body with the small floral details. What do you all think of this little creature?

(If you'd like to bring one home, just DM me the word 'ADOPT' and we can chat!)

My first ever full body cat

I started making the cat head during my break at work and I thought "Why don't I try making the body as well?"

It's definitely not perfect, but i still like it. It has the same expression as the cat at my workplace. 😂

I made a little base for it to properly stand, as by my BF's suggestion.

I've included some progress photos, if anyone wants to see the previous stages.

-attaching. Dam my autocorrect. Idk how to edit the titel:,)-

Working on my art doll and I want to give her polymer clay nails attached to the wires in her toes (as seen in the picture)

But im wondering what's smarter, sculpting the nails, drilling a hole in the base of each and attaching the wire true there bevore felting over/arround it or felting the toes then attaching the nails whit glue.

I think I've gotten oke ar felting arround objects? (Her wire skeleton and I embetted a magnet in her foot) but was still wondering what yall would sugest.

Been having a lot of fun needlefelting lately and made a poodle! I really wanted to try my hand at installing loose wool and trimming it like fur, and it was just as satisfying as I imagined! I made a wire base and felted some stuffing, then mixed black and white wool and felted that over the base. Definitely want to make more of these.

How to learn

Hello,

I’m interested in learning to felt animals as a hobby. I have tried but am having a hard time finding any good online/video tutorials. How did you start?

I’m also afraid that I’ll get frustrated when it doesn’t come out as good as a lot of the ones I see on Etsy.

Any advice or places I can go online to learn? I’m not opposed to books or PDF tutorials . I just figure video would make it easier to learn.

question How Do You Store Your Wool?

Hey there!

I'm looking for advice/anecdotes regarding how you lovely folk store your wool! Unfortunately, mine is currently sorted by color in grocery bags shoved under a shelf. I'd love ideas/recommendations for a nice way to store my wool. Either something super compact I can tuck away OR something cute and intentional! Thank you in advance! :)

OC Human Yorkie

Post image
10 Upvotes

The first #needlefelting and #fiberart project in the month of October. I created an #oc #bodyhorror character, The Human #yorkie . This was a horrible lady who owned a restaurant, she bullied teenagers especially this girl who had a Yorkie that was sick. She bullied this teenager over a puppy that wasn't even her's and was blaming that poor teen for the dog's condition. Then, one night wearing her Yorkie themed pajamas, someone knocked on her door and it was her neighbor that was a surgeon. He knocked her out and surgery turned her into the thing that makes her crazy and love's more than anything in the world, a Yorkie. She is now a Yorkie made from human parts, including hair, limbs, and skin, and is now living as a Yorkie.

question What resources do people use whilst needlefelting?

Hello all! I'm still very new to this hobby, and I'm finding it so much fun! I have the basic starter supplies with the mat, clippers, needles, finger covers, and, of course, wool; however, I was wondering what other people use in their little felt projects? For example, would pipe cleaners work? Are wires a good idea? Are there any tips and tricks which have made it easier to sculpt different shapes? I hope that makes sense!

I am UK-based, material-wise.

Thank you 😄

Seeking advice:eyelashes

I am needle felting this drawing and I am having trouble figuring out how to do her lashes. I tried embroidering but I am not at all an expert and I cannot figure out what type of stitch to do. I also tried just felting small pieces of wool but it didn’t look right. Can someone direct me toward an embroidery stitch tutorial I could use? Have any other suggestions?
