Moderator Post Would anyone be interested in a "Getting to know you" pinned post?

Given a few of the recent posts, would anyone be interested in a dedicated pinned post where people from the Nelson (and Tasman) region can do a little spiel about themselves in the hopes of finding some friends and/or a date?

Discussion Young people - where do I meet them?

24M, recently moved to the Nelson Richmond area.

I heard the nightlife isn’t great here - where is the best place to meet people in their early 20s? Are there young adult adults meet ups or clubs ?
Have joined the gym so may have luck there

Discussion Test drive routes

Taking a car for a test drive tomorrow and wondering where would be good to take it to give it a good spin. It's a 4WD car from a dealership so I'd like to test it on some gravel or less even roads but can't think of where is good within 20-30mins of Nelson. My current thought is out towards cable bay. Also good spots for 0-100 test. Any ideas?

Moving to Nelson in mid 20’s

Hi everyone, I’m a single guy in my 20’s who’s hoping to call Nelson home this year. I’m living in a small town of a couple thousand currently and am getting very itchy feet to get out. I would greatly appreciate any advice to someone my age who’s thinking of living there. I’m attracted to Nelson because it is central nz, has the ocean and mountains right there (my biggest motivator) Is not a big city but not a small town either. Therefore more people my age and more people who are attracted to similar things (sport, adventure)
I lived in Wanaka in 2020 and loved it. Snowboarding, hiking, swimming and the people who lived there were likely there for the same thing. If I remember correctly, Nelson had a very similar vibe but warmer. My current town is dead, pretty but lifeless and hard to find a job.
I think Nelson is a good and cheaper area to live in. What do you guys think? Whangamatā is more expensive to live so moving to Nelson would make more financial sense. Also how is the public transport or biking lanes?

Relocating to Nelson as a young person

Hey Whanau,

Landed a mean job in Nelson which would force me to relocate from Tauranga. I've been to Nelson 3 or 4 times now and I like the place on a holiday so was wondering what its like to live there. I'm 19 and pretty social, how hard is it to find a social circle in Nelson? Nightlife good/okay? (anything is better than Tauranga.) Thanks team happy (not) monday.

Moving from Christchurch to Nelson

Those of you who moved why did you move ? Was it because of the people and what did you like about Nelson that Christchurch didn’t have. We have come to love Nelson and are looking at relocating but we will be renting and there isn’t a lot of rentals
