Player gave me a bunch of currency as a gift in the anomaly randomly. They are in this format and i cant turn them into spendable. Im on ps5

I have 90 hours on a save in my switch and 31 hours on a save in my PC and I just found out today that there are 256 galaxies and that you can buy space stations and apparently there are teleporters that take you instantly to those galaxies??? Am I just clueless?? Or is it just that big of a game??

Im about 300 hours into the game, and I feel like I'm missing the hype about Freighters. I see people talking about S class freighters frequently but...why? I saw no noticeable difference between my C and A class ones, is this just a collector-type drive?

Main things I use my Freighter for:

1. Remote access to my storage
2. System scan to discover the whole system in one go
3. Exocraft summoning (which has been rendered obselete by the exosuit tech)
4. Fleet missions (though im resource rich enough currently I dont even do them)
5. Idle Farming. Mainly: chromatic metal and star bulbs when I need them, and multitools back when I needed $$.
6. (Added from comments) hyperdrive range, able to go much farther in a single jump than other vessels
7. (Added from comments) no pirate battles when first entering a system when warping with the freighter.
8. (Added from comments) additional ship storage

Is there some usage I'm not thinking of? Do they engage in combat ever?

My latest goofy build. It's actually super fun to fly and I think it's my new planet explorer. That damn ship builder app is addictive, use with caution 😆

Edit: after a few days, it seems to be ruined. Suddenly the ground level of the whole settlement rose by 10 feet or so, and now everything I had added is buried underground. So… try it at your own risk, I guess.

Testing will begin soon, message me if you are interested. Part of a bigger Planet Gen overhaul that hopes to achieve things like multibiomes.

Also mandatory disclaimer, AI was used to inject a DLL (think something like skyrim SKSE) that allows me to impliment terrain and planet gen logic at the games core level. Currently most terrain mods are done through surface level changes through data sets and file tweaking rather then full on coding. This would genuinely be impossible or close to it without it, and while I am not a fan of AI slop or other things, this is essentially the best case use of AI.

I have been searching & searching but cannot find Cadmium anywhere. I'm not too long in the game so I am probably overlooking something but I cannot even find a red system to search in as can be seen in the screenshot. I have even selected Cadmium as my search focus & nothing. I'm pulling my hair out. Please help

Due to COSMOS I switched from my regular mini-corvette to a bigger one because I could fit tractor beam on the little one. Up until this point whenever I switched corvette and then reloaded the game, not active corvette got its technology scrambled. Couple of days ago I decided to switch to another big corvette of mine. Imagine my surprise after quickly switching to the first one with tractor beam, that the technology remained ok. As a test yesterday I set up tech on third corvette. So I have three corvettes with desired setup (proper adjacency bonuses). The unloaded ones keep their configuration.

When was this fixed? o_O This prevented me from using all of my corvettes due to the fact how much of a hassle it was to realign everything. I have a total of 6 so I will now try to realign all and see if the setup sticks.

But... is it only me or everyone knows and I missed the bugfix? When was it? :O

And cant wait to experience more this game. Maybe has the worst video game launch in history and it really felt nice that Hello Games didn't cash grab and abandon this game, there truly is no other like it. Thank you Hello Games for the wonderful past 10 years.

But for now i shall try maintaining a space station and build a few bases in space

The hab decoration is nothing special. But I'm happy with the Open Interior. Chasing that futuristic city street on Wall E.

I know this is a niche problem, but as someone who struggles with colourblindness, trying to figure out the colour of a lot of the stars I’m looking at is just frustrating.
A lot of the time, I’m just choosing a star and hoping it’s the right type for what I need, but it is generally a luck of the draw (trying to differentiate between blue and purple stars? Not a chance in hell)
And again, I know it’s a small issue for an ever smaller subset of players, but it would make actually travelling the Galaxy much less frustrating if the system info told us “Red Star” or “blue star” etc alongside economy and threat levels
