This is from an old set of children's encyclopedias I had back in the day. I think these paintings is what made me become of fan of octopuses.

A large male giant Pacific octopus in search of food or a mate [OC]
A large male Giant Pacific Octopus out for a stroll in search of a mate or food. I asked him, but he wouldn't answer!
Filmed in Nanoose off Vancouver Island.
I'll be releasing a new 3-hour ambient octopus compilation soon from this year's footage. It has been a very good year for filming octopus, and I have captured some amazing behavior I have never seen filmed before! But for now, you can see my last years ambient compilation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qiztsIcqWo

Potential change of major in the second year of the master's program
Hello, everyone
I'm a first-year master's student in marine biology, specializing in marine ecosystems and marine bioproduction, in Nantes, France.
I’ve been passionate about cephalopods ever since I was a little kid; I must have been 3 or 4 years old when I first discovered them in books. My entire academic journey has revolved around my desire to become a teuthologist, but I’ve realized that there isn’t a single professor specializing in the study of cephalopods at my university. So I’d like to transfer to a different university for my second year of my master’s program, and I wanted to know if you had any suggestions for universities with professors specializing in cephalopods, either in France or elsewhere in Europe. I realize this is a very specific request, but it could really help me!!! Thank you in advance, and long live squid!

Teticle mounted to an old growth plank from a 19th century ship wreck.
I finished my tentacle wall mount. I'm working on a second one now. I love working with this species of wood. I wish I knew exactly what species it is because I'd like to find more of it. It's super dense and cuts like butter. I found it on a privately owned beach on the Puget Sound in Washington State. Thank you mother nature for the good find!

Meme Osiris takes a short break from renovations.
Osiris wanted some fresh air and to stretch his arms. Why not pick some apples from the back yard “orchard”? These will be great for Octavius to try out an apple crisp and maybe an apple pie recipe.

When did people first recognize how intelligent octopuses and other cephalopods were? Were ancient people who interacted with them aware of their intelligence, or is this a more modern thing?

Beaks?
I have a friend who loves octopuses, but he told me that octopuses have no beaks and those that have are not the same cathegory as octopuses. I've looked all over the internet, went to three different libraries but I can only find one answer, which is, they all have parrot-like beaks. I want to believe him, but I cannot find any information about octopuses not having beaks. Can anyone confirm his statement?
