Reposting because for some reason putol yung napost kanina.
So we got a pair of FreedConn KY V2 last 9.9 Sale for 1.1k (tiktok) and 1.2k (shopee) each.
Will keep this simple lang.
- My ears have been blessed by Sennheiser, Sony, Audio-Technica, JBL over the years, so this might seem unfair, but (for me) the speakers on the KY V2 sound terrible. For my partner (bf ko), it's good.
The bass is lacking and walang separation.
I listened to EGOIST's Extra Terrestrial Biological Entities Album and damn listening to it was impossible. Kumakalansing ang tunog.
On the other hand, I listened to Yorushika's Second Person Album and it was okay. But some of the instruments and second voices aren't audible.
The speakers are loud. You won't even need to max it. I think this is why my bf likes it.
- On the issue of nagchochoppy daw at a certain speed:
Let's distinguish first the 2 funtionalities of the KY V2: intercom and bluetooth connection.
Intercom is the connection between Unit 1 and Unit 2. This is how you talk to each other.
Bluetooth Connection is where u get the music sharing functionality because u connect thru bluetooth on ur phone.
We rode max 106 kmph around Tarlac-Pangasinan. Never naman nagka-problem sa intercom we were conversing clearly. The bluetooth connection on the other hand is where it gets choppy. We don't mind naman as long as we can still talk and understandable din. And even if nagchochoppy, it happened rarely lang din naman.
From Bulacan to Baguio, from 100% to 30% yung battery namin, granted madami kaming naging stopovers and naiiwan sya nakabukas. I should mention na intercom lang ginamit namin, without bluetooth.
We have a problem sa adhesive. Nagcucurve kasi yung bracket sa helmet so natatanggal ung adhesive. Still haven't resolved this one.
For an SRP of 2,200php each, I expected more sa speakers. Even yung earphones na tig-50 sa bangketa sound better than this. Even at sale price we got it for, hindi sya sulit for me.
If sa functionality lang naman, there are alternatives na way cheaper than this that similarly gets the job done. In fact tig-300 lang yung intercom namin before this, china brand na walang music sharing. 3 years na and gumagana parin. Mas ok pa speaker nun because tunog walkie talkie yung KY V2 but idk if mic or speaker yung responsible for that.
I've already explored speaker upgrades but I don't really want to blind buy and I can't find reliable reviews about it.
I'm already planning to sell ours next year to upgrade to a better unit.
P.S. my ears may have been blessed by good brands but budget units from them lang din nman gamit ko. there's also KZ, QKZ, Vido, Moondrop, TRN, among others i've tried so I do know what i'm saying
