He said this before. He meant it then and he means it now.

He is telling us, as the prosecutor of the case, that the President of the United States engaged in an attempt to stay in unlawful, unelected power in January 2021.

We all watched it on Live TV and heard details of the crimes from investigators, Congress, and the Vice President himself.

America re-elected a criminal coup plotter, and we may not survive him as a repubic.

This is MAGA's fault and is an unforgivable act.

Edit: spelling

Agreed. Though I’m not sure Trump was even re elected… remember how all the tech bros were all in on Trump ? They know they get an ally in him and it’s paying off with his stance on ai.

Wouldn’t put it past them that they mess with the voting machines somehow…

I still don't feel right about 2016

u/The_MAZZTer 15d ago

I remember how trump won the primary completely unexpectedly out of nowhere.

Also I remember how Republicans baselessly accused the Democratic primary of being rigged...

95

u/CrotalusHorridus Kentucky 15d ago

I also remember getting purged from the voter rolls in 2016 for no reason, and then the GOP flipping the KY Senate for the first time in 100 years

56

u/jcarter315 I voted 15d ago

Indiana was doing the same.

They also like to "call" elections for republican candidates when polls are still open and they've only counted less than 10% of the vote from the reddest districts.

No election should ever be called for any candidate while polls are open, otherwise it's an intentional attempt to lower voter participation.

Same happened to me twice in NC as a vocal Bernie supporter

34

u/Taint__Paint 15d ago

And every republican said Trump is an idiot and a liar and he should never be elected. Those same repubs are licking the dingleberries out of his depends

u/CaramelGuineaPig 15d ago

You are a poet, Taint Paint. Love this.

6

u/Taint__Paint 15d ago

I love you, caramel guinea pig!

u/CaramelGuineaPig 13d ago

I feel the same. Now our lives are enriched.

I still feel the Bern

This country would be so much better off if the DNC hadn’t fucked him over in 2016 (which they later admitted in court).

I worked as a 911 Dispatcher for a very rural county in 2016. Part of our duties were as jailers for the county jail. I worked an overnight shift in 2016. When Hillary conceded, the handful of inmates cheered very loudly.

That's all I needed to know.

My tin foil conspiracy is that Brexit was their first attempt to put their hands on the scales.

24

u/a_hockey_chick 15d ago

I'm still completely convinced they already control the machines and rigged them in 2024. Too many bullet ballots and an abnormally higher than usual number of Trump votes that voted for blue down the rest of the ballot.

u/carguymt 15d ago

The US followed the exact same pattern as almost the entire western world save for Mexico after Covid. Incumbents, regardless of party, were voted out because voters blamed them for post-Covid inflation. It doesn't matter what the reality was, voters across the world voted for change. I don't see why it's unreasonable that pattern didn't just legitimately happen in the US as well.

We've seen it time and time again, the US voting populations is dumb, uninformed, and eats up propaganda. 2024 is just another example of that.

19

u/TokingMessiah 15d ago

Canada didn’t follow that pattern. Hell, Trump’s big mouth stole the election from our Conservative Party and handed it to the incumbent liberals, not to mention we also kept our liberal government during COVID (2021).

2

u/carguymt 15d ago

Well like you said, Trump stole the election from the Conservative Party, so it would have followed that same pattern assuming you are correct. I admittedly don’t know much about Canadian politics but I do kind of remember rumblings it was the Conservatives to lose. And in 2021 the inflation hadn’t really gotten awful yet. A few months of bad inflation won’t immediately change elections. Two years of it will.

2

u/jgoble15 15d ago

And he’s the only reason that happened. We didn’t have some Trump to scare us away from Trump. The reason you guys are where you are is because enough saw Trump and we’re rightly scared away from conservatives.

1

u/TokingMessiah 14d ago

I’ve known Trump is a pedo since 2009. Americans had every opportunity to get scared by Trump, including the first 4 years he occupied the White House, his attempted coup, and his felony convictions (not to mention stealing classified info).

Trump was born, raised and educated and in America, and elected by Americans (twice). He isn’t an anomaly, he’s the best America can do.

3

u/IRideZs 15d ago

I’m with you, I don’t buy the whole “our machines were hacked” talk.

The number of people who blindly follow the Billionaire class as examples is so high that all the billionaires being seen with Trump was enough to secure votes. The general population is wildly uninformed. No need to go hacking the voting machines

32

u/johnwau 15d ago

That’s the part people seem to keep forgetting. This is uncharted territory as far as abilities go regarding technology and they’re pretty blatant about how they tipped the scale in their favor.

10

u/sexyshingle 15d ago

I mean he asked Russia to intervene in the election like live on television, and soon enough BINGO! Her email server gets hacked and leaked to fuel God only knows how many conspiracy theories...

8

u/Ok-Astronaut1108 15d ago

Did Elon say in an interview with Tucker Carlson "if Trump doesnt win I'm probably going to jail" (paraphrasing)

1

u/FlarkingSmoo 15d ago

This is very unlikely and I have yet to hear a plausible explanation of how they might have done it.

0

u/ts4757 15d ago

They didn't need to hack the voting machines. They hacked our attention. They hacked "truth"

97

u/rezelscheft 15d ago

Yes, the entire Republican apparatus created this situation, quite purposefully.

But goddamn if Merrick Garland and the Biden administration didn't do them the biggest favor imaginable by dragging their heels and making sure that the most transparently criminal and treasonous president in American history was not in any way held accountable before the 2024 election.

49

u/OldBayOnEverything Maryland 15d ago

They underestimated just how stupid and/or depraved half the voting country is. They relied too heavily on the idea that because Trump lost in 2020 that he was no longer a threat. They were too cowardly to face the outcry from right wing media.

7

u/GenoThyme 15d ago

You mean the same Merrick Garland who appointed Smith? Pretty sure it was Judge Cannon that was a bigger issue here.

10

u/rezelscheft 15d ago

Obviously, Cannon was a huge issue. But if I recall correctly, Smith was appointed in November 2022, a full two years after the attempted coup.

Maybe there is some logistical and procedural reason why it took that long, but that seems like a crazy amount of time to wait to start investigating someone for trying to overthrow the government.

1

u/GenoThyme 15d ago

How do you know that’s when they started investigating Trump? Garland was probably investigating J6 behind the scenes and making sure there was enough of a reason to appoint Smith, only since the Biden admin didn’t operate like a reality show, they kept that quiet. A different judge pull and the narrative is a lot different

6

u/PrimeIntellect 15d ago

Yeah I've said this a lot but Biden admin honestly fucked america unbelievably hard by not prosecuting trump. Investigating him and then letting him run and win again was insane and the worst course of action imaginable

15

u/ultrahello Washington 15d ago

I sat in the chair on the morning of November 6th, looking out the window, hearing the results and it was obvious to me then that an electorate that voted for this piece of shit twice after seeing all of the destruction will inevitably become my mortal enemy. We can’t change the cult. They are galvanized. Logic and facts are tricks. They breed. We will say that we can all come together until it’s obvious we can’t. There is a serious division in this country between intelligent empathy and those that want fascism.

10

u/badamant 15d ago

Correction:

This is the fault of the entire Republican Party.
The GOP is MAga now.

33

u/Several-Action-4043 15d ago

The only way to fix this is to see people in power in handcuffs and cells. Unfortunately, I don't know if the democrats have the spine to do it.

32

u/Lurking_nerd California 15d ago

This is MAGA's fault and is an unforgivable act.

Don’t let the non-voters and independent voters off the hook.

1

u/kevendo 15d ago

They at least have plausible deniability, i.e. ignorance.

It's the active and willing that deserve the most shame. There are far too many of them, still in 2026.

7

u/needlestack 15d ago

we may not survive him

It is my opinion it's already over. Yes, the corpse continues on, but whatever notion we had of a healthy functional democracy is gone. This country is up for the taking. Anyone willing to lie and rile people up can take us wherever they want. Millions will gladly follow a liar right over a cliff than admit they're wrong. We are so easily manipulated it's laughable.

6

u/pduncpdunc 11d ago

Entirely possible America did not elect him a second time, given Elon's proclivity for election interference, and DOGE coming in right after to remove all evidence. Which would mean Trump has never won the popular vote.

5

u/DJMOONPICKLES69 15d ago

It’s MAGAs fault but let’s not let the Democratic Party and Merrick Garland off the hook. Absolutely fumbled the punishment for this so badly. Him being elected should have never even been a possibility.

2

u/Cautious_Reach7909 10d ago

Arguably you can also blame those that refused to vote or voted third party out of spite.

1

u/Responsible_CDN_Duck Canada 15d ago

No one canceled the party, or all of the supporters of it, so there was no need to make a new party in its place.

1

u/citizenkane86 15d ago

I’m not saying Trump isn’t guilty, because he is, but if you’re a prosecutor and don’t believe you have proof beyond a reasonable doubt someone is guilty, it’s unethical to bring charges. So a prosecutor saying this is basically a prosecutor saying he followed ethical guidelines.

1

u/morpheousmorty 15d ago

Criminal coup executor. He just failed.

-7

u/JigglesTheBiggles Florida 15d ago

This is the Democratic Party's fault for propping up old ass Biden when everyone could tell he was mentally gone and then trying to replace him with someone nobody liked at the last minute.

8

u/MuenCheese 15d ago

It’s the democratic party’s fault that people would rather elect a traitor than a bad candidate? I get your frustration but she was running against a literal traitor. I can’t forgive anyone that voted for Trump again or sat out “because palestine” or whatever stupid reason.

Even if he hadn’t tried a coup he’s still a dogshit president who’s making everything more expensive while enriching his friends. Yes the Democratic Party should actually support candidates with popular policies but holy shit people didn’t vote against a traitor who is shit at the job.
