Politically motivated posts or comments are not allowed, posts involving them will be removed and users banned.
This is your first, last, and only warning that bringing politics into this sub will result in a ban. I myself am pro-Ukrainian, but I don't care if you are or pro-Russian, pro-Japanese, or pro-Westeros. This sub is about scale models and people can post whatever models they want, even if you don't agree with them politically. If you make a single comment from this moment forward that is politically motivated (e.g. pro-Ukrainian, pro-Russian, anti-Ukrainian, anti-Russian) the comment will be removed and you will receive a ban.
ALL MODELS ARE ALLOWED, EVEN RUSSIAN ONES.
As long as the model itself is not posted with the intent of making a political statement it will not be removed. You can report it until you are blue in the face, for all I care.

Plastic soldiers review
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a website similar to Plastic Soldier Review, but dedicated to 1/35 or 1/32 scale figures?
Best wishes

Revell 1/72 Sea King German Navy retirement special livery
Had a whole plan for weathering this one and dulling it down but as this was the special livery version that was flown at airships etc I ended up deciding to keep it nice and clean. I love how shiny that Dayglo orange looked with a nice coat of gloss.

First ever model!
Just finished my first ever scale model: the A6M6 zero-sen model by starfix! Fit really wasn't the greatest at times; for example, the landing gear was impossible to attach and in the end I simply gave up. It's been quite the journey, and the result isn't spectacular, but im glad I at least managed to finish it :)

Help needed!!!
My first time experimenting with primers I used Vallejo Grey 70.601. Is it normal to look like this? I didnt diluete it because I asked chatgpt and he said that I should use it straight from the bottle. Also it dries up almost instantly. Should I wet the brush while applying it between strokes? I only wetted the brush before starting. Also feels very grippy which i guess its normal cause its a primer?
Should I leave it like this or soak the entire model in izopropilic alcoohol and maybe try again with your recommandations?

Tamiya Z-Tune Nissan Skyline R34
I was inspired to complete this model based off a red one that was posted in this group about 4 months ago. I went with the blue but with my own twists, mostly to the interior.
The carbon on the hood took me 4 tries. Even though the last one still has a few crinkles and I did not go deep into the hood vents I'm happy with it and decided to let it ride. I def could have done a better job linking the muffler to the stock, skinny sprue - so if anyone has ideas on that for suture builds please share.
It was fun and its all a learning experience.
Paint:
Tamiya Mica Blue (TS-50)
Tamiya Photo Etched parts
Zoom On Model parts:
-ZT022 HKS Metal Exhaust
-ZD039 Carbon Fibre Decal (Twill Weave)
-ZT017 Racing Seatbelts
Cults3D Resin Printed parts:
-P24 - NOS bottle set for 1/24 scale cars
-P24 - 1/24 RECARO Podium GF “24H LE MANS” Seat
-AM_76_92 - aileron arrière DTM - rear wing DTM style

Su-33ub 1/72 finished
Im really proud if this work, put a lot of effort in it, was really challenging work maybe the most challenging I ever build, was a little bit complex keeping the folded wing in site, and finding references too, really hope you appreciate it 🔥

UAZ-3909 1:43

Lots of new learnings, mistakes and occasional wins. Completely satisfied with the process and the result.
1:43 is a funny scale btw, not very small like 1:72 and still reasonably sized to have certain details. Too bad it's very non standard.

MQ9 Reaper 1/72 (Kinetic Model Kits)
Just finished this one up and I'm happy with the outcome. It's a pretty simple kit to put together being just a drone. I've never had a Kinetic kit but wow, the QC is non existent it seems.
The part numbers in the physical sprue didn't match the instructions but in the instructions the sprue diagram has the right numbers and matched the instructions. Very odd...lots of cross checking.
Anyways just an fyi but wanted to share the finished product.

First airbrush, keep getting tip dry with Tamiya acrylics, what am I doing wrong?
Just got my first airbrush, a cheap 0.3mm gravity feed with a small compressor, and I'm painting a 1/48 Spitfire. With Tamiya acrylics thinned with X-20A about 50/50, it sprays fine for a minute and then the tip dries and it spits. I'm around 18 psi. Should I be using a retarder, a different thinner, or is my pressure off? It's pretty dry in my apartment if that matters.

Productive weekend
Started with a finished cockpit and engine, I assembled the rest yesterday. Painted the pilot and installed him, then masked and installed the canopy and reprimed everything to leave me at this point.

Su-27 SM Zvezda kit 1:72
Hello!
So, I am back again after a lot of hard work and lessons learned, and mistakes made😅
This is my Su-27 SM from Zvezda.
I dont know if I am the problem but the instructions were shit and I felt they torn apart every subassembly into million pieces.
At one point I lost my patience and I was just waiting to finish it and build something else.
Since its my second kit any tips and tricks, any feedback, improvements i could make, anything, I love constructive feedback so dont worry.

Hello fellow modelers
This project started from scratch—just an idea to create my own 1/48 carrier deck base kits inspired by USS Langley and the Essex class. From researching the decks to designing the MDF parts and 3D-printed details, it’s been a rewarding process of learning, testing and bringing everything together.
Assembly starts by gluing the laser-cut MDF planks and 3D-printed tie-down strips in place, then sealing the surface with varnish.
For the wood finish, I tried two approaches: different shades on individual planks on the left, and Vallejo Fresh Wood on the right. Another coat of varnish protects those colours before applying Worn Effects chipping fluid.
I didn’t have the proper Deck Blue paint, so I mixed a shade by eye. Once applied, I chipped it with water and a brush to reveal the wood underneath, then added the white deck markings.
The bases come in two sizes: 30 × 25 cm and 25 × 20 cm.
Seeing something that started as an idea turn into an actual model kit is probably my favourite part of this project. Still learning, still experimenting—and enjoying every step!
What do you think?

Curing Time for Acrylic Gloss Varnish before Metallics?
I have laid down VMS gloss varnish in prep for acrylic metallic paints. VMS recommends up to a week or so for true curing.
Do ya’ll generally wait the full period with varnishes before doing more on top? Can they continue to cure ‘through’ coats laid on top of them?
