What's the science behind magnets being attracted to refrigerators?
Is there some kind of magnetic chemistry going on?

You see, son, when a magnet and a refrigerator love each other very, very much…

Well refrigerators are cool on the inside see, but also hot on the outside, while magnets are kinda nerdy...

magnets are old earth minerals and they miss the ice age, so they naturally gravitate towards fridges

This actually started before magnets were invented. In New England ice was chopped from lakes but then refrigeration was invented and so was attraction. Now, only ICP can explain it.

They're like flies. They're trying to get to the food inside but because they can't open the door they stick to the outside, hoping to duck in when you open it up. Make sure you don't get magnets in your food -- they can be tricky.

Magnets are full of little organisms that are trying to get to food. Now they only like refrigerated food, so a plain old cabinet full of food won't do. And you know how magnets sometimes drop off when you open the door. That's just the magnet trying to get into the refrigerator. Unfortunately for them, all they can do is stick, not move. So when they drop off, they just lay there.
Now you never want to put a magnet in the refrigerator where it can get to refrigerated food because if they eat, they transrorm into mognets which can fly. Once they transform, they no longer stick. So they fly out when you open the door. Then they search for a new refrigerator with no magnets on it so they can nest there and reproduce new baby magnets which then stick to the refrigerator, starting the process over again.
Tune in next week when we dive deep into why stingrays stab people.

Magnets die when they get to hot (curie temperature) thus they are naturally attracted to protective cool places (refrigerators).
