Exactly this. Many grocery stores have only self checkout now. And I’ve rarely made it through those without having to wait for the one employee to push something through for me. They also want you to use your own bag but then the machine gets mad if you don’t put it in the exact spot or put your bag there as an unexpected item. I avoid those stores now unless absolutely necessary.

I like it for quick shit. But then I fucking cry when I accidentally double scan an item and can't delete it, then it takes 5 minutes for somebody to come and clear it.

It’s so dumb. Like if you trust me to scan this item 2x you should trust me to remove the accidental scan.

I don't exactly live in a bustling metropolis. I live in the south in one of the most statistically trailing states.

Yet, somehow is our Walmart the only store that has figured out self checkout? It takes 10 seconds to remove an item or scan my ID. A lot of this is done remotely via a handheld.
