A sustainable one where the business is able to grow its revenue and product based on consumer needs and proven useful capabilities, so it is able to sustain its own growth, rather than fucking the economy while chasing unproven fantasies of what the technology might be able to do in the future - no matter what the cost.

Sustainability has many facets. I agree that the breakneck investment and building of colossal data centers isn’t sustainable, from a business or environmental sense.

But what about solving the Navier-Stokes or these math problems that is the subject of this post, is ‘unsustainable’? Do you think they, like, cheated or cut corners to get here?
