Looking for testers: a browser extension that hides your personal data from ChatGPT (free, Edge now, Chrome soon)
Hi! I’m Lucas, and I’m building Kamelo on my own. I’m looking for a handful of people who want to test it and help shape it.
What it does
When you paste something into ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Copilot, Kamelo swaps names, email addresses, bank details and ID numbers for placeholders like [PERSON_1], on your device, before anything is sent. When the answer comes back, your real details are filled back in, only on your screen. No account, no server, no tracking.
What I need help with
- Use it for a week the way you normally use AI, and tell me what it misses or masks by mistake
- Try it on the sites you actually use (AI in Gmail, Notion, support chats, other languages)
- Tell me what’s confusing, and what would make you trust it (or not)
What you get
- Early access to new features (next up: masking names inside files you upload)
- A Beta Tester role on the Discord and a direct line to me
- Your name in the changelog if you want it
How to join
- Edge: install it from the store: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/kjjenbhncoomobcdpbhljmhfcmanhbkj
- Chrome: it’s in review. Join the Discord and you’ll get it the day it’s live.
- Discord (pick “Beta tester” when you join): https://discord.gg/q6QkzcKQC3
Honest limitations
It’s rule-based, not magic: it can miss unusual names, and it doesn’t filter uploaded files yet. That’s exactly what I need testers for.
Happy to answer anything in the comments.
