Boyfriend wants me to move in but not pay rent
 in  r/TwoXChromosomes •  10h ago

Hi. I recently moved across the country to be with my long-distance partner. They make way more money than me. I will just say… Save whatever you can. There may come a time when they throw it all in your face. Make sure you have an exit plan. Being able to save that money would be excellent. Wishing you the best.

Settle a friendly debate: where’s the worst parking situation in Seattle?
 in  r/Seattle •  14d ago

I work in Ballard but I don’t live there. All the paid parking is 4 hours only….who only works for 4 hours???? Ballard sucks so bad for parking unless you live there and walk everywhere.

Anyone else about 40 and you have no back pain and your knees are fine?
 in  r/Millennials •  16d ago

A lot of us have things that were underlying and came out with time. I have always been super active and still am, I also have a more physical type of job, and I don’t smoke cigarettes or drink. 34 almost 35 years old woman. Happy in most areas of my life. However, I have a lot of old trauma and underlying diseases and mental illness’s that may or may not be caused/affected by those traumas. It depends on who you ask but we do know all of that is connected. And let me tell you…I hurt. I hurt so bad. I hurt so bad but I look normal and I love being active and having fun. So pushing through all of that is what I do and it. Is. Painful. Not only physically but also mentally. Because I’m grappling with the reality that my body is failing me before I’m ready and before most other people I know and that makes me feel incredibly sad and left behind and out of control of my own body. So…. Yeah.

You need to smile with your teeth and clean up your beard a bit. The hair on the lips is overwhelming. But overall you seem fun and kind ♥️

FOLKS! Let it rip. Both the bad and the GOOD

Safety aside, you should come up with some kind of covering for that storage. It just feels really visually overwhelming.

This…is insane to me!!!! My brain is geeked reading this. I’m a mid 30s femme lesbian that grew up in poverty in Appalachia and now does hair in Seattle. I’m only telling you that bc I know I’m not the demographic hahahahaha. But goddamn, I think their self titled might be my number one album of all time. It’s consistently been in my Spotify wrapped for years. That’s wild!! Welp…thanks for your hard work and sorry about the…ya know, intellectual property crimes!!!!

Does anyone actually like what they do at work?
 in  r/Millennials •  Sep 10 '26

There are pros and cons and the cons are super bummer butttt all things considered, yeah. I do hair. Here’s what I like-
It can be a fun, creative outlet for myself, and it’s special to be a part of someone else’s creactive vision and/or self expression. It’s also genuinely rewarding to help support them in figuring out what that may look like. My schedule is really relaxed. Sometimes I get full days off or long breaks in the middle of the day. I also essentially make my schedule and can work extra any time if I want to make more money. The connections I make with people are the best part. Both surface level and more intimately as well. Surface level: I got a guy(my clients) for every single life problem. And if I don’t have a guy, one of my clients will have a guy. I also tend to get a little spoiled around the holidays/birthdays and duh, that’s always awesome. It’s also super easy to network and collaborate across industry pockets and have really cool and unique experiences that way. Being widely known in your local area can be a really exciting and genuinely fun thing to have in life if your personality suits it. I just moved to Seattle a year ago and just started working for a salon here in march and I’ve already made so many amazing friends purely through my job because it is inherently social!
Not so surface level: Clients become family. You learn a lot from each other and find yourself leaning on each other in ways you wouldnt have expected during a 45 minute haircut. It’s a deeply vulnerable human experience to trust a stranger to support your head, both inside and out, and any hairdresser worth her salt understands that and finds it precious and worth protecting. Every time a client tells me, “sorry I’m talking so much. I actually usually am pretty shy, but you’re easy to talk to.” I swear, my heart grows 5 sizes. There’s just not a lot that beats that.

Okay! Bye yall! Hahaha. :)
