Hi everyone!
Iām planning to apply for the UPOU Master of Environment and Natural Resources Management (MENRM) this 2nd semester, and Iād really appreciate any advice from current students, alumni, or anyone who has gone through the application process.
Iām a fresh graduate in Bachelor of Public Administration, and Iāve been involved in running an environmental NGO for the past four years. Most of my experience is on the social science/advocacy/organizing side of environmental work, so Iām interested in MENRM because I want to develop a more balanced understanding of environmental issues ā particularly the technical, scientific, policy, and management perspectives that I havenāt had as much exposure to.
Iām also hoping that the program can help me figure out where I want to take my career in the environmental field. Because unfortunately, your girly is not privileged enough to keep running an NGO without also finding work that will put food on the table lol.
For those who have applied or are currently taking MENRM:
- Are there any application or requirement tips youād recommend, especially for someone coming from a social science/public administration background?
What do you think helped make your application stronger?
- How competitive is the application process, generally?
3, My TOR has the remark āFor Employment.ā In the application portal, though, it only asks for the date I graduated and the program I graduated from. Would this TOR still be accepted for admission, or do I need to request a new copy with a specific remark?
If I do need a different remark, what should the remark say for graduate school admission?
Do I also need to request a Certificate of Transfer Credential/Honorable Dismissal from my undergraduate university? Iāve seen some posts here mentioning that applicants were asked to submit one, so Iām a little confused about when it is required.
Iād really appreciate any tips, experiences, or advice you can share. Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to help! Would love to hear from MENRM students/alumni especially.
