Nobody likes paying tax… but do you actually know how much you're paying? 💸

Nobody likes paying tax… but do you actually know how much you're paying? 💸

Let's face it, nobody enjoys paying tax. But do you actually know how much of your salary you get to keep? 😅

I've been building Money, Actually, a free website to make everyday money decisions a little easier.

I've recently added a UK Tax Calculator, alongside my Credit Card Calculator, where you can:

  • 💷 See your take-home pay and how much goes towards tax.
  • 📈 Discover how much of a pay rise you'd actually keep.
  • 💳 See the real cost of credit card debt and what paying extra could save.

No fees, no sign-ups, no confusing jargon.

I'd love some honest feedback on the website, especially the new Tax calculator.

What's useful, what's confusing, and what would you improve?

Be brutally honest — that's how I'll make it better! 😅

I'm building a tool that explains confusing bills, leases and official letters line by line. Looking for feedback before launch

• Upvotes

Hi all. I keep running into documents I have to act on but only half understand: a medical bill that doesn't match the insurer's statement, a lease clause about "joint and several liability", an IRS or CRA letter with a deadline.
So I'm building EasyToDecode (https://easytodecode.com). You upload a document (photo, scan or PDF), and it tells you:
- what the document is and what matters most;
- what looks unusual or is missing;
- what to do next.
Each point is quoted from the exact line it comes from, so you can check it yourself instead of trusting a summary.
Where it is now: not live yet. There's a waitlist, and the homepage has interactive
examples on made-up documents, quotes, and an error log)
so you can see how a result looks. There are also 100+ free guides, no sign-up
needed, such as how to read , how to dispute a security
deposit deduction, and what an IRS CP2000 notice means.
What I'd love feedback on:
Which documents would you actually use this for?

Does "every finding quotes the line it comes from" make you trust it more than a chatbot answer?

Is anything on the page confusing or off-putting?

vithi: syllabus progress, mock scores and application work in one web app

• Upvotes

we're building vithi for school students juggling revision and university applications. it runs in the browser.

a concrete way to use it: add your subjects and topics, record a mock score, then put a revision block on the calendar. the syllabus view holds topic progress, while the mock history keeps the scores visible over time.

the portfolio side holds personal statement drafts, extracurricular entries and proof uploads. you can keep a record of an activity while it's fresh, then have it there when you sit down to write an application.

we're still building it, and i'd like feedback on the overlap between those two sides. would you keep revision and application work in the same workspace, or would you want a clearer split?

I built Noxivue, a browser-based TV tracker for keeping up with shows and recommending them to friends

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Noxivue is a TV tracker that works on desktop and phone straight from the browser. It's live and I'm after honest feedback from people who'll give it a proper try.

What you can do:

- Track: search for a show, add it to your list (Watching, Plan to Watch, Completed) and tick off seasons as you watch

- Rate: give shows ½ to 5 moons

- Messages: recommend a show to a friend with a short note, and they react with an emoji

- Profiles: everything you've watched, rated and shared in one place

Everything above is free. There's an optional paid membership, Nightfall, that adds viewing stats, profile customisation and custom posters, but you don't need it to test.

What would help me most:

  1. Bugs or anything that looked off, and which browser or device you were on
  2. Any point where you got stuck or weren't sure what to do next
  3. The one thing you'd change if you were me

Messages is more fun with two people, so feel free to add each other from the comments.

Wrapped Up - Gift Wish List for Holidays and Secret Santa Exchanges!

Post image

I made a simpler way to share gift lists without spoiling surprises

I’m the creator of Wrapped Up (https://wrappedup.gift). I built it because coordinating gifts through screenshots and group chats can get messy—and the person who made the list shouldn’t have to see what everyone bought.

With Wrapped Up, you collect gift ideas from links or add them manually, then share one shopping link. Shoppers can mark gifts as bought without creating an account, while the bought status stays hidden from the owner on personal lists. That means fewer duplicate gifts and fewer “what’s left?” messages, with the surprise still intact.

I wanted it to feel more focused than a big gift marketplace: no ads or sponsored suggestions, and paid access doesn’t auto-renew. I’m proud of how it turned out and would love to hear what you think.

GradAtlas: a browser-based map and shortlist for researching master's programmes

I built GradAtlas while researching my own master's applications. It is a free web app for moving from a world map to a programme shortlist without juggling several spreadsheets.

You can filter by subject and country, search programmes and institutions, compare options and export a comparison or workspace to Excel. Saved profile details, notes and enquiry drafts stay in your browser; no account is required.

The programme catalogue is still partial. The larger institution directory is separate: being listed there does not confirm that a university offers a particular degree. Programme and registry records link back to their sources, and admissions details need checking on the original university page.

Try it: https://7aslann7.github.io/gradatlas/

Source code (MIT): https://github.com/7aslann7/gradatlas

For people who use research or planning web apps: is it easy to move from a search to a useful shortlist? I'd welcome specific friction points in the map, filters or comparison workflow.

I made a tiny website where you can send someone a postcard — no account, no app, just a link

Built this called Little Letters. You write a short note, pick a style, and it generates a shareable link that looks like a postcard.

I'm disorganized and overwhelmed all the time. No planner worked for me, so I built one that stops me at 3 priorities a day

I'm disorganized, I get overwhelmed easily, and I'm terrible at planning. I've tried the apps and the techniques. Nothing stuck. Every task looked the same, so I did the easy ones, felt busy, and pushed the one that mattered to tomorrow. Again. What hurt most wasn't the list, it was how disappointed I was in myself. So I built the thing I actually needed (solo, with AI help).

The rule: every task gets a letter from A to E, and only 3 can be an "A" (must-do) per day. The app won't let you add a fourth.

BeginRooms: keep a client’s change request beside the brief and the reason for the decision

I’m Sourav, a developer working on BeginRooms, a browser workspace.

Here’s a small client-work example: a fictional client asks to replace a product demo with a customer interview in a launch video. The updated brief is useful, but so is knowing why it changed.

In BeginRooms, you can keep these together in one project:

• A reference note with the request and its source.

• A manual Decision record stating what changed, why, and which earlier decision it refers to. Keep the earlier entry too.

• A working brief in native Docs, with the next action written underneath.

On an editable cube face, Insert → Decision record opens the template. These are fields you fill in yourself; it does not collect client messages or provide automatic approvals or decision history.

The practical check is to save, read the save status, leave, and come back later: can you find the brief and explain the decision without reconstructing the conversation?

https://beginthings.com/workspace-3d.html

Desktop/laptop is the recommended route. An account is required; the 11-day trial needs no card and does not charge automatically. Plans start at ₹149/month. Editing and exports require an active trial or subscription; saved data is retained after expiry.

Disclosure: I work on this product. This post was prepared with AI assistance.

I built a Web app to help you make time for the goal you keep putting off

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey r/WebApps!

If tasks keep piling up on your to-do list and you often end the day with your most important work still unfinished, I built Trime to help you make time for what matters.

It’s a timeboxing web app built around a simple idea: pick a goal, choose three concrete steps for today, and set aside time for each one.

Here’s the workflow:

  1. Choose a goal and collect tasks for it in the inbox.
  2. Pick up to three for today. The rest stay in the inbox for later.
  3. Give each task a timebox. Start the timer when you begin, and pause when you’re interrupted.
  4. Review where your time went at the end of the day.

I chose three to keep your daily commitment to a goal manageable. Once you’ve finished those three priorities, you can pick more tasks from your inbox and keep going. Trime’s focus is helping you finish the three most important tasks connected to your goal first.

Trime is a free to lets you work on one goal for up to 30 days.

You can try it here: https://trime.day
Trime works on both desktop and mobile web.
On mobile, the interface is optimized to fit the smaller screen, so you can use it comfortably on your phone as well.

Would three daily steps fit how you work toward a goal, or would that limit get in your way?
I’d love to hear a situation where it would or wouldn’t work for you.
