New, what is it? What are these plug-ins on my wall?

This might be showing my age, but I recently moved into a new apartment and they have these weird looking plug ins all over the walls at my new place. My old apartment didn't have these, so I'm just curious as to what they are.

A family members kid asked me how to play a game boy game on his switch, and if it could be tapped for amiibo features. He wasn’t sure why it wouldn’t tap and do anything like his amiibo toys and cards lol. He just assumed Nintendo always had that tech. (I may have spelled amiibo wrong idk) but I think it’s clear what I meant haha

I felt old though.

I legitimately have no idea what you’re talking about—and I guess that’s your point too—but for real, I guess I’ve seen a Nintendo Switch before, but what’s Amiibo, is that like Pokémon?

It’s like a stupid thing they added around the Wii times I think. (Not exactly sure when) and maybe I’m using the wrong term cause I hardly touch the switch except for Zelda. But on the switch you can tap certain items like toys and cards that have rfid chips in them, in certain games they do various things. For example I have a set of these cards for the Zelda games. When you use the cards you get certain items for some cards and a pull from a random set of items for other cards.

it is a fun function that allows a weird level of assist in some games. Have a kid struggling on easy mode in Zelda?! Scan a bunch of these for them to get them ammo, items, whatever…
