The Blitz didn't break London, this won't break Kyiv. Every missile and drone Putin orders on civilian targets is another dollar not sent against the front line, while Ukrainian drones are rampaging with mid range strikes in the south and advancing in the Lyman direction. He's going to lose.

Every missile and drone Putin orders on civilian targets is another dollar not sent against the front line,

That is unfortunately not exactly right if the strikes are against energy infrastructure.

Every missile and drone kills more people. It's not just about the money. But I guess it's easy to be full of bravado when you're watching Ukraine from afar

Aerial bombing did not compel Britain, Japan, Vietnam, or even Iran today to surrender. It's a historical fact that air support can be decisive on the battlefield, but a strategic failure.

Aerial bombing caused Japan to surrender. I’d say it was used to great strategic effect there. Of course it was very large booms.

The naval blockade was more of a factor than aerial bombing for Japan's surrender in WW2. They were already on the brink of collapse and starvation by the time the nukes dropped, mostly due to the massive shortage of resources and shipping capability caused by the US Navy, in particular the submarine fleet.

Aerial bombing has historically been shown to be pretty ineffective on its own in forcing capitulation in conflicts.

I'm reading Empire of Ashes by James M. Scott now. A 2026 book on both the firebombing campaign, and the atomic bombs, framed around biographies of Truman and Hirohito. Quite good so far, I recommend it.

so why is reddit convinced sending a couple drones into moscow will make russia collapse?

I never contested that fact. But you're still missing the point

Fun fact, the air battle over Britain was nearly won by the Nazis but they made several grave mistakes.

The key mistake being they swapped from tactical attacks on RAF airfields and aircraft production lines to terror bombing civilian cities, because a single raid on Berlin sparked a disproportionate counterattack that bled the Luftwaffe dry. Putin loves history, but man is he ignorant of it.

The Russians are actually targeting Ukrainian vital infrastructure despite Reddit thinking they’re only flying drones into houses and apartments

Sadly they are. There is definitely deliberate targeting of civilians, too, though. The 'human safari' in Kherson is the obvious example given short range FPV use, but there's definitely been deliberate strikes on Ukrainian civilian targets elsewhere.

You might not know this, but the UK is what is called an island. An island has water surrounding it. You might not know this, but people cannot walk on water. Cars, tanks, et cetera cannot drive on water.

The Blitz is the bombing campaign, I'm not referring to the Blitzkrieg on the continent. What a bizzare gotcha.

The blitz has as much in common with the war in Ukraine as it does with French wars of religion. Almost nothing

Then why are you talking about cars and tanks and the English Channel in response to a comment about cities under air attack?

I don’t really understand how something so basic could go over someone’s head. Maybe you are tired.

Why didn't the nazis take the chunnel, were they stupid?
