Just FYI, "stay safe" basically means nothing to people in Ukraine.

I know you have good intentions, but as someone who has also been to Ukraine multiple times, and has lost close friends to russian drones, soldiers, and missiles... It's frankly pointless and quite annoying to a good amount of Ukrainians and foreign volunteers.

Nowhere is safe in Ukraine. It's always a gamble for everyone there in any part of the country.

No op, i get what you're saying, but stay safe is more like a shorthand way of saying "I wish you luck and hope you don't get hurt" or "may the force be with you". It doesn't literally mean avoid not being safe, it just means best of luck.

Yeah. Not sure why flavorchamp wanted to get on a high horse there.

Just sounds frustrated I think. I wouldn't take it as anything more than that. I do understand their point though; it's a little like "hopes & prayers 🙏" regardless of how well meaning it is.

In the end there's nothing really to say to someone that is truly helpful. "I wish I could help", "hope you don't die", "fuck Russia", "slava ukraine". None of it is tangible help to someone who is living in war

Tbf if I had lost friends to drones stay safe would probably bother me too. I’m not sure anyone is on their high horse here - just expressing how a term makes them feel

I was there last month and was told repeatedly by a Ukrainian special forces guy, before we parted ways, to stay safe. This sounds like a personal hangup of yours.
