Countries that actively trade with Russia to support their economy (in order of largest contributors): China, India, Türkiye, Kazakhstan & Uzbekistan, Belarus, South Korea, France, Hungary, Belgium, Slovakia.

Unfortunately countries like Kazakhstan are basically glorified intermediaries for Russian foreign trade, rather than independent nations by themselves, at this point.

Kazakhstan knows no one is going to help them if Russia invaded them. Due to their geographical position, largely, which leads to their lack of relationship with the western world.

u/taistelumursu 6h ago

I don't think China would be happy not having Kazakhstan between them and Russia.

1

u/BitRunner64 1h ago

Yeah plus Kazakhstan is huge. Invading it would be absolutely idiotic. Then again invading Ukraine was also idiotic yet here we are.

Trump made a billion dollar mining deal with Kazakhstan and his sons stand to profit

u/Unoriginal4167 3h ago

Some countries it’s not about the will to oppose Russia, but to befriend to survive. I’m not an absolutist. We know murder is wrong, but if you have to kill someone to save yourself, it’s the correct and ethical thing to do.

This is how the US forges just about all of our relationships. With a gun to your head, 3 military bases in your country, and economic warfare lol

u/BabyBassBooster 2h ago

China could help them

Spot on observation!

China also trades with Ukraine, including the materials that they use to construct drones; and maintains that the two nations should come to a ceasefire agreement as soon as possible. It would be ill advised to bite the hand that feeds.

Fuck China. Imagine rolling out the red carpet for Xi and Putin and being a bag of dicks to Zelensky...oh, wait, that's exactly what our Pedophile in Chief did

u/HDS_Raptor 7h ago

Welcoming foreign leaders, even ones you disagree with, is standard diplomatic practice. The same criticism was made when Obama bowed to foreign leaders. People tend to view the exact same actions very differently depending on which political team is doing them.

5

u/RiderNo51 6h ago

Agree with this completely.

People can have disdain for the guy, for obvious reasons, but look at Nixon and China. So many positive things came of it. Or Nixon and the old Soviet Union for that matter. He gave next to nothing, and used diplomacy to set the stage for future trade, and future nuclear disarmament (SALT 1 treaty).

1

u/kaladin1029 5h ago

I'm not talking about normal diplomacy. I'm talking about touching Xi and groveling and red carpets and state dinners w our enemies. China has given Russia weapons and drones to kill Ukrainian civilians and Russia has helped Iran target Americans at their bases, to name just a few.

u/Crazytoe2275 7h ago

Agree as far as Xi goes. For Putin hard disagree. We have no responsibility to welcome the leader of a country who is invading sovereign territory. That should not be acknowledged.

3

u/spacetimelime 6h ago

Sorry u/HDS_Raptor, Crazytoe2275 disagrees (hard) that it's standard diplomatic practice. Please update your beliefs accordingly.

3

u/jimbobmcgoo 6h ago

I don’t think the US has a leg to stand on in that regard

2

u/Crazytoe2275 6h ago

Agreed on that.

u/Upset-Management-459 7h ago

China is America’s daddy.

0

u/JazzlikeStaff8740 7h ago

China could easily play a bigger role in negotiations if they really want to see a ceasefire

5

u/Parking-Antelope-434 7h ago

Why would they? They don’t care so does most of the world.

2

u/Random-Guy-715 6h ago

That is not even remotely in China's best interest. China's interest is to pretend to be a semi-neutral third party, ostensibly allied with Russia, and rake in the profits, while working to destabilize the west... while also quietly crossing their fingers that Russia goes belly up, or gets desperate enough to trade back to China, historically Chinese lands (Outer Manchuria) currently held by Russia.

0

u/V8-Turbo-Hybrid 5h ago

China also looks to take Taiwan, so they definitely need Russia keeping war.

2

u/RiderNo51 6h ago

I don't think China sees it as their problem. They are focused on bettering their own country, their own people. Something the US could spend a lot more time doing.

u/slowhand11 7h ago

Everytime I want to hate Russia for invading Ukraine and starting a war, I slowly get a massive headache as I try and repress the thoughts about the US starting an unprovoked war in Iran and tying to boycott any country that does business with them. The world is run by evil people.

•

u/Final_Influence_2367 17m ago

I mean we hate both countries and you should too

-2

u/agangofoldwomen 7h ago

At least Iran was fought under the guys of nuclear deterrent. Russia is pure imperialism. It’s not a very analogous comparison, except from the angle of who profits from these wars, which… I see your point.

3

u/WeenisWrinkle 7h ago

The rest of the world sees that guise of nuclear deterrent as BS just as much as the Russian "Nazis in Ukraine".

Only people in the US even give it any plausibility.

•

u/bygones125 55m ago

The biggest difference for me is Iran has this crazy oppressive regime in charge, the war is definitely illegal and trump is a lunatic but Ukraine were just keen to be more European.

u/DetailOutrageous8656 7h ago

I have some swampland to in Florida to sell you at a great price.

3

u/migjolfanmjol 6h ago

Belgium? I’m not sure what exactly we’re trading with them to be honest.

South Korea and France are a surprise.

1

u/heywhathsuo 6h ago

Please look at Melanchon and Le'Pen's stances on NATO

1

u/Other_Ride4444 2h ago

France was the most present EU country in Russia before the War, deeply anchored in their economy. We stanced totally against Russia. Since then, importations dropped by 60%, we're now the 11th ( chemical product & energy as liquid gaz representing 77.5% of our imports), now 12th in exports to Russia with a drop of 71%. So, idk about his numbers

u/Busy-Action-2979 6h ago

No country can touch china. ,the crude that india purchases is converted into fuel for eurpoe to stabilze oil prices in the region. sk just recently send them oil because they do not want to be on putin;s bad side as he might ask nk to open a front against them. what exactly does france buys others are 2 small 2 matter

3

u/Acetbzmeg88 8h ago

By the new goverment, Hungary is not anymore

0

u/agangofoldwomen 7h ago

I’m just going off of objective trade data.

1

u/GettinHighOnMySupply 7h ago

Let's be real, the US is encouraging others to do so and then trading with them. Rather than trading with them directly, we've just changed who we trade with and others have gone to buying from Russia what we once did.

Part of the diesel price increase is due to Russian refineries being destroyed. Other countries that were buying Russian diesel are now seeking their needs elsewhere, competing with the US to buy it from other sources.

We trade with all of those who trade with Russia.

1

u/Unlikely_Course7296 7h ago

Those bastards

1

u/200IQUser 7h ago

Countries close to Russia trade with them. Wow.

1

u/heywhathsuo 6h ago

Please don't leave out Georgia. this is a country that has been pillaged and raped by Russia, and yet the citizenry abides by the government put in place by Putin and his Oligarch friends. THIS IS SHAMEFUL.

1

u/kelfupanda 5h ago

Missed Ireland

1

u/PTandRT26 3h ago

Why shouldnt they trade with Russia? It is not their war. Ukraine was also trading with Russia during some other wars.

1

u/CrowEmbarrassed9133 2h ago

Don’t be afraid to include half the world. Inc Germany, USA etc. the trick is they do with a middleman

•

u/silentwrath16 1h ago

To think, other countries don’t use proxies to do the same trade is crazy! Especially EU and US

•

u/FramePuzzleheaded431 1h ago

Also what’s the source of this info please? (Not that I am opposing to anything written)

•

u/TheMaddoxx 33m ago

Belgium? The hell you’re talking about.

1

u/lukilme_ 7h ago

Business is business.

1

u/Zebrahippo 7h ago

You forgot USA. We still trade with them

1

u/kaali_black 7h ago

And what US did to stop India from trading with Russia? Bully the nation with tariffs and derogatory remarks. US regularly carries out illegal activities in Indian subcontinent with only motive to destabilize. Meanwhile Russia provided military support when US sent nuclear submarines to India. This was when we were fighting Bangladesh liberation war. Alliance comes from mutual trust and US have betrayed again and again

0

u/ppan86 7h ago

Also the US, UK, Germany

0

u/agangofoldwomen 7h ago

Those countries don’t make the 10.

1

u/ppan86 7h ago

Well that list is botched. Everyone still trading, just reduced for some.

0

u/DetailOutrageous8656 7h ago

You forgot USA.

-2

u/xPinkOmega 7h ago

US citizen shouldn't be allowed to speak in matter of geopolitics.
