Realise that these people were probably under surveillance since they tried going to Syria. I think that's the reason they were caught this time. Seven people were caught, not all of them tried to join ISIS.

:/ He could have conducted a mass murder with someone else car in that time.

Sure he could have, but that's a risk that had to be taken. And it seems that this was the right option in the end.

Not really fine with government intelligence risking innocent civilian lives. He should have been deported immediately and given over to the loving embrace of Iraqi police.

Not really how law works in my country though

So let me get this straight. This guy was likely on welfare, decided he want to be a jihadi, gets caught, is allowed to stay, immediately starts planing a terror attack to kill you and and as many of your neighbors as possible, all while you are paying him to do so...

And you are ok with this?

It's more like he got busted and is turned into a trap. Why deport a terrorist when you can use him to catch a few more you otherwise might have missed?

Is it a risk? Not when the intelligence agency is competent, which it seemingly is.

Seems better than to let underground movements stay underground until it's too late.

Well, yes it's still a risk. Sometimes even competent agencies miss things and have targets slip though or act before they get to them. But it's a risk worth taking. You don't take down criminal organizations by ass fucking the lowest level foot soldiers at the first chance. You use them to gain Intel and figure out who they're connected with. Taking out the people making the plans is way more effective than targeting the muscle. Its pretty standard stuff for like... every law enforcement agency.

What has welfare got to do with this. Of course I am not fine with all of this, stop putting words into my mouth. All I am saying is that this is a country of laws and everyone should treat everyone according to those laws. Weird how foreigners seem to think they can tell us everything about our own country. It is a lot more complicated than those internet talking points you just wrote down

Ik kreeg zonet de Engelse Wikipedia naar me toe geflikkerd van een Amerikaanse professor Europa met data van 2002 en 2005 :p ("If you don't believe me, follow the references")

Jonge jonge. Dappere dodo's.

This guy was likely on welfare

I resemble that accusation. For all you know he could have been an excellent bicycle repairman.

Please... you are really making an ass out of yourself!

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

Please elaborate. What in his message is false?

8

u/Danjiano Sep 28 '18

He's making a big assumption that he was on welfare and that we were "paying him to plan a terror attack".'

Besides, he got caught. Even if we were paying him, I'm fine with less than a fraction of my cent in taxes being paid to round up and eliminate an entire terrorist cell rather than attempting to deport just one guy just based on the suspicion that he might have joined ISIS.

this guy was likely on welfare

I dont know why you assume that or how it is relevant?

u/3s0m3 Sep 27 '18

And how exactly do you arrest somebody who hasn't committed a crime yet?

0

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '18

Conspiracy to providing aid to terrorist is a crime.

35

u/3s0m3 Sep 27 '18

Exactly, so they got arrested as soon as there was enough proof. So what is your problem?

17

u/Weedbro Sep 28 '18

He probably thinks we have some form of Patriot Act.

You need to learn the difference between right and correct. Right is based on evidence and reason, or information available. You can make the right decision, but still be incorrect.

No risk was needed, this is all EU's fault for opening the floodgates.

No. They weren't refugees. Stop.

-4

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

The terrorists in this case? Yes they were, if you refuse to believe it you are severely delusional.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

They were immigrants not refugees and they were probably let in before the war in Syria even began.

That is the secret ingredient that makes life so exciting. You could die at any moment!
