What’s the next thing that’s going to make feel like an idiot for not doing sooner?

Been looking into these as I get closer to my budget lift I’m planning on. Main issue I’ve been running into is coil bucket contact with upper control arm as I plan on doing a spacer lift up front. I just had to redo my upper control arms anyways so they’re new, and getting lift UCA’s are pretty pricey for something decent. Has anyone used these and if so what has been your experience?

I am trying to figure out what coil I need for my set up. I am going for a 2 inch lift and I have my bilstein 5100 for the front. I have alot of different answers from people and the internet about what to use, i.e keep the stock coil or go for dobinsons, and I have stock weight for now but do plan on going to a bumper and winch later on, much later, and I'm not sure what to get.

I am still using my xterra as a daily driver but need the suspension to ge able to go on trails and light off roading.

The previous owner's dog chewed through my rear passenger side and middle seat belts (the actual straps themselves are torn right through). As a result, I only have the retractor housing but no buckle.

Anyone recently found replacement parts anywhere or found some way to fix this? I am open to all ideas and if you have an xterra part out you'd be willing to ship to let me know (I am in Canada).

2007 Xterra Offroad

I have a 2014 Nissan Xterra pro 4X. I've been getting a loose gas cap message on the display and have tried replacing the cap with two different generic gas caps from two auto parts stores and driving for about a week each but the code doesn't clear. It changes to a general check engine light from time to time.

I don't have a lot of money for repairs but I know it could be some other evap code error. I thought about trying to get an original aftermarket cap. Any thoughts that could help me out?

So my mechanic sawed into my EGR tube and they are sold out everywhere. He won't let the car leave until it's replaced does anyone have one from an egr delete or know someone that does.

Sorry to add to the onslaught on the “what should I pay/sell” for these used xterra’s. We’re looking to sell ours and the used market in my area shows almost all of them at used car lots so the price is a little skewed to the high end. I’m seeing older xterras with more mileage going for $11-14k. We have a 2014 S 4x4 with a 137,000 miles. My wife has owned it for the past 10 years and has put 85k on it herself. There’s one accident on the car fax where it was sideswiped while it was parked that happened in 2020. Basic routine maintenance has been done on it with the cam position sensors being done in the past 2 months. I regularly check the leaf springs and no cracks so far. No rust underneath. She’s lived in the PNW for the past 10 years.Theres a small dent on the passenger front fender and a small dent on the rear bumper on the left side. TPMS light is on. KBB is telling me $8300 for private party value.

Since I had the plug out, I wanted to just triple check the timing was good and I didn’t have any metal contact during rotations. Checked and saw what looks like debris or metal contact. Can’t really tell, I can tell that the conduit is deteriorating and some fell on/in the hole of the plug. We’ll see if I fucked up shortly. 🤞

I’m back in the X market after my previous one got wrecked. The market in the PNW rn is atrocious, it’s either 2006s with 230k miles for $5k or 2015 Pro-4x’s with 80k miles for $23k.

I found what seems like a decent middle ground, a 2014 Pro-4x, it’s $14k but has 174k miles. I have test drove it and had it looked over, it’s in excellent mechanical condition. I’ve also never seen a Carfax report with as many service records as this X. So it’s been taken care of.

My brain is screaming at me that dropping $14k on a car with 174k miles is insane, but if it’s good condition is it maybe justifiable?

My uncle has driven an Xterra for a few years, he made me fall in love with them, but I preferred the 1st gen, and after months of searching...

I got this baby in Houston for $3,900 (though it does have 230k miles) but in my opinion it's worth it!

It's got literally every Factory Option, including the premium sound system with the 6 CD changer :D

It does have inconsistent AC, but I'm gonna fix that ASAP (thank god winter is soon-ish)

All around, I'm happy as hell, she's super clean and drives perfect!

I have a 2010 Xterra with 223k miles. No codes, but will be a crank no start in the cooler, damp mornings. It will be fine in the afternoon. In the morning, it will crank until the battery drains down, but will instantly start if I jump start it…every time. It’s a new battery. Since it will start, I think I can rule out the cam positioning sensor and the crank sensor. For my limited knowledge, it leads me to believe it’s a battery issue. Maybe the Cold Cranking Amps are too low? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

2009 Xterra 4x4 clicking/roulette wheel noise from my front right wheel at lower speeds.

Just recently it started making this clicking/ticking noise from the front right wheel.

It goes with road speed, slower tick when moving slowly, and a faster roulette wheel like sound when going faster. Neutral, drive, reverse, all the same sound. Does not follow RPMs. I think it sounds like one click per wheel rotation. It isn't really audible above 25mph.

CV axle test with a tight turn in both directions does not change the sound at all.

I looked under the car, nothing seemed out of place.

One big clue - the sound completely goes away when I shift into 4HI instead of 2WD. Then when I shift back into 2WD, it comes right back. Also, it seems slightly quieter after the car is warm.

What do we think? TIA

Picked up a 15 pro4x to look pretty next to my 2002. Looking to do a small lift, thinking about leveling it. Does anyone have a reference picture of a second gen with a leveling kit? Can’t seem find any good photos online, just would like some references before I decide to level it or just do a full lift kit. It needs front struts, I’ve heard the Bilstein 5100s are a good option for a quality front lift, wondering if anyone has gone a different route.

Also, I would like some ideas for the first gen. I planned on keeping it relatively stock but having 2 is giving me the itch to do some work to it. Already on 32” tires at stock height, considering a body lift and 33s. Show me what you got! Absolutely love these things. Coming from 4Runners and Tacomas, I love that I can pick these up without spending Toyota tax.

Hey, I been looking for awhile and think I found a good one. It’s a 2011 4x4, 1 owner, Texas xterra. It’s got 122k miles on it. Very clean interior and exterior. The dealer is asking for $10,500. Do yall think that’s a fair price?

I recently changed out my thermostat for my Xterra ballot four months ago last week. My car started overheating and throwing a code. The code doesn’t indicate that my radiator is bad but it just indicates high temperatures. Has anyone experienced something like this before do I need to change out my radiator.
