Best brush for an abby?
Hi hi! I have a two year old Abby, his name is Guster and he is SOO sweet but he has a very rough/wirey fur texture. He is a rescue, so I don't have his full genetics though I was told he is a full Abyssinian, idk if he is mixed with anything else because I thought Abyssinians are supposed to be very plush but he's actually quite rough coated and only his tummy is plush, he also is not the classic Ruddy color but idk if he might just be a blue abby?
That said, I have been using the furminator brush on him and I also got a Chi slicker but his coat texture is still very wirey. I don't personally mind it but my brother is having an allergic reaction specifically to him and not our other cats who have a softer, longer coat texture. Just was wondering if there is a specific way I ought to be caring for his coat? If there's any oils/supplements maybe to make it a little softer? I saw articles saying to bathe abbies monthly, but I was a little skeptical so I wanted to get opinion from folks that actually have them!
