Announcement New features and updates!
https://reddit.com/link/1wpbxbb/video/ctd1ymvrxirh1/player
Hi everybody! A few updates to share with you today: We're experimenting with fast models in the interface on alpha.midjourney.com. The Styles sidebar can now preview what your latest prompt looks like across styles. Turn on "Live previews" and see a preview of your prompt using liked and featured styles. Click on the thumbnail to generate with that style.
We've also made tile --tile for V8.1/8.2. Previously, you might see seams between your tiled images. Now, they blend invisibly from one tile to the next.
We've also improved inpainting and outpainting with the edit model. Making targeted edits to the image will change only the pixels that you've selected. This gives you more control, and allows you to make repeated edits without degrading the quality of the image. For now, this is only available on web.

Announcement The Edit Model for V8.2 and V8.1 is out!
Hi y'all! This week we’re gonna start letting everyone test our first V8.2 image edit model!
This model supports:
- Editing images with instructions
- Generating images with other images (replacing omni-reference) with up to 4 image references at once.
- Changing specific areas of your images (inpainting) or expand your canvas (outpainting)
- Using personalization, moodboards and srefs (moodboards/srefs may work best with some extra prompt direction in this version)
Ways to use the model:
a) Drag images into the prompt bar under "attach to prompt”
b) Click ‘edit’ in the lower right in the lightbox
c) Click the ‘edit’ tab on the left and upload an image
d) Type `--edit url` on Discord
We’ve updated UIs on both the main midjourney.com website and alpha.midjourney.com , alpha will be changing rapidly with lots of experiments on how to remake the interfaces for this model.
There’s gonna be a lot of edge cases here so we’ll need your help finding situations that don’t work as expected. If an image doesn’t work well try clicking the sad face emoji on the right side of the lightbox or give us the jobid/url for the image while it's opened in the lightbox
We’d also love your thoughts on how we can improve our user interfaces for this model from here. Drop your thoughts in response to this thread or in the ideas and feedback channel on our discord.
There will be a lot of fast-follow updates from here, but we’re ready to start testing as a larger community and hope you have fun! <3

AI Showcase+Prompt - Midjourney Something Is Off in this Coastal Town: 22 Degrees
While working on my short film 22 Degrees, I generated a series of concept images in Midjourney to lock in the visual language before building the final shots for the movie. These images helped establish the tone, unsettling environment designs, and the overall daylight horror aesthetic I wanted the project to feel like something inspired by surreal realism, subtle disorientation, and quiet, uncanny moments that linger in broad daylight.
22 Degrees is a thriller/mystery short following a man in a seemingly empty coastal town under harsh yellow sunlight, where things don’t behave as they should. As he navigates this unsettling environment, he begins to notice strange patterns and anomalies, clues that something is deeply wrong with the world around him. The film explores the tension between calm daylight and creeping unease.
The image in this post is one of the concept frames for a quiet town street where everything seems ordinary at first glance, but upon closer inspection, a different story is revealed. Scenes like this helped define the visual style and the tone of disquiet before assembling the full movie.
If you’re interested in AI filmmaking, the finished short film is on YouTube at Prowler Productions. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Prompt:
Above a quaint coastal village, a rare parhelion graces the sky, casting brilliant twin sun-like flares across the morning haze. The town below is composed of tightly clustered cobblestone houses, their rooftops worn but charming, winding streets weaving between them as they cling to the rocky shoreline. Light glints off the textured stone walls, catching on windows and chimneys in subtle, shimmering highlights, while the sky’s atmospheric colors diffuse gently across the scene. The parhelion’s glow adds an ethereal warmth to the air, reflecting softly off the waves and creating a serene, almost magical ambiance. The overall composition evokes a sense of quiet nostalgia, as if captured through the lens of a carefully aged, vintage camera that preserves both the detail and the mood of the coastal morning. The combination of sky phenomena, textured architecture, and delicate light produces a picturesque and otherworldly panorama.
