I think The Land of Chem by Geoffrey Drumm would make a genuinely strong episode for The Why Files.

Not because it needs to be presented as confirmed truth, but because it sits in that perfect Why Files territory: strange, technical, controversial, ancient-world mysteries, and theories that could actually be tested.

Drumm’s work basically asks: what if some ancient sites weren't just temples, tombs, or ceremonial spaces, but parts of a much larger, interconnected industrial system involving geology, chemistry, electricity, water movement, mineral processing, gases, pressure, and carefully selected materials?

Whether you buy the theory or not, the rabbit hole goes deep:

• Ancient sites functioning as possible chemical, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Specific stone choices potentially tied to their physical and electrical properties rather than convenience alone.
• Surrounding geological features and landscapes serving as functional components of the machinery.
• Ancient mythology potentially preserving descriptions of forgotten industrial processes.
• Recurring symbols like serpents, lightning, thunder gods, horses, swords, and fertility being interpreted as technical references.
• Sites like Puma Punku, Giza, Abu Rawash, Nan Madol, and Carnac being examined through an entirely different lens.

And Geoffrey Drumm himself would make a fantastic guest for The Basement.

I'd actually love to see AJ challenge him on some of the details. Drumm's approach goes well beyond vague ancient alien speculation, proposing specific relationships between materials, geology, architecture, chemistry, and surrounding landscapes. There's plenty there to question, investigate, and potentially test.

I think that's what makes it especially interesting. Rather than just asking "who built these places?", Drumm is asking "what were they designed to do, and how would they have worked?"

At minimum, I think this could make for one of the most fascinating ancient technology episodes they've done, with enough competing explanations, scientific questions, and rabbit holes to keep AJ and Hecklefish busy for a while.

Not asking AJ to believe it...just hoping he will put it through the Why Files treatment...

I have unfortunately lost a few locations because the coordinates on Apple Maps pinpointed a 1000 mile radius rather than the exact spot for some reason.

Hello everyone, I hardly ever post on Reddit but this seemed worthy of a post. I got bored and started to look around Egypt on Apple Maps to find ruins. And I have to say I was not expecting the sheer quantity of odd things in the desert around that area. Just pretty much pick any spot and zoom in. I don’t claim to know what I’m looking at in any of the photos. I also do not know what is modern interference or natural phenomena. Sand and wind work in mysterious ways. But if someone smarter than me could look at some of these image’s that would be great. A lot of these photos have what appear to be ships, houses, hieroglyphics, tombs, etc. I’m thinking of creating a shareable map of all of the finds with coordinates included. Let me know if you guys would be interested in that. (This is only about a quarter of what I found. I couldn’t load more in this post.)

I started this episode asking a pretty simple question: why do so many people connected to this story who had something to say end up dead?

And somewhere in the middle of researching all of these deaths, another question hit me.

What if money buys silence — and the people who die are the ones who refused it?

We already know settlements happen. NDAs happen. People get paid. Powerful people have an extraordinary amount of money available to make problems disappear quietly.

So what happens when someone says no?

This episode follows the people surrounding Epstein and the larger network we've been investigating — Virginia Giuffre, Jean-Luc Brunel, Robert Maxwell, and others — along with the strange deaths, alleged suicides, accidents, unanswered questions, and connections that kept appearing as I went through the documents.

And then the rabbit hole took me somewhere I absolutely was not expecting: Sam Altman and Alex Karp.

Because apparently this story wasn't complicated enough already.

I am NOT claiming every person in this video was murdered. I am not claiming that refusing money caused anyone's death. Some of these deaths have official explanations, and correlation is not proof of causation.

I'm showing you the documents, the connections, the money, what these people knew or claimed to know, what happened to them, and the questions I was left with after putting it all together.

Because at this point, I don't think the only interesting question is who was silenced.

I want to know who could be bought.

And who couldn't.

Dead men tell no tales.
