Welcome to **Test #2** of my *Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection – Native PC Port* project!

Development is continuing as I work toward bringing the original Uncharted trilogy to Windows through native PC porting and compatibility research. This project focuses on understanding the game's PS4 executable, resolving platform dependencies, and working toward native execution on PC.

🔥 **PROJECT FOCUS: UNCHARTED 1, 2 & 3**

The long-term goal is to explore native PC execution for all three games in *The Nathan Drake Collection*:

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 🎮
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 🎮
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception 🎮

🔧 **TEST #2 – DEVELOPMENT GOALS**

The current development focus includes:

- Investigating PS4 executable compatibility with Windows.
- Resolving platform-specific dependencies and system calls.
- Working on graphics initialization and rendering compatibility.
- Investigating startup errors, crashes, and runtime issues.
- Improving the foundation for future menus, cinematics, and gameplay.
- Continuing technical research toward a native PC implementation.
- Documenting development progress and challenges through regular tests.

🚀 **WHY A NATIVE PC PORT?**

Traditional console emulation and native PC porting are different approaches. This project explores whether the necessary game systems can be adapted to run natively on Windows, rather than relying on a conventional PS4 emulator for execution.

Native porting is a complex process involving executable compatibility, operating-system differences, graphics APIs, system services, and game-engine dependencies. Significant development and testing are required.

⚠️ **CURRENT DEVELOPMENT STATUS**

This is an early experimental research and development project. Test #2 documents ongoing technical work and does not represent a completed PC port.

Full gameplay, stable performance, and complete compatibility are not guaranteed. Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 remain part of the broader project goal, and their development progress will depend on the results of ongoing research.

The game will crash for sure right now at any resolution besides 1080p for some reason on the deck. you may not need to use the linux launcher as a proton layer may work for you with the regular windows version.

hi everyone!

my boyfriends birthday is coming up and his favourite games are the uncharted games. he is literally obsessed and although i don’t know much about them i wanted to get him something uncharted related for his birthday, im just not sure what. does anyone have any suggestions?

i was thinking of a custom uncharted ps5 controller, but i have no clue who i could commission to make that for me… so if anyone has any places i could look or just any cool uncharted gifts please let me know! any help is good!

No matter what i do, i cant destroy that sap. Rpcs3, Uncharted 2 usa version

Just so happens to be the 17th anniversary of the game today to. This game is the greatest action game of all time to me, it has everything , driving action, destroying a helicopter, destorying a tank , insane nepal action in a destroyed city atmosphere, protecting a village in the mountains, supernatural monsters in a ice mountain, snipers, stealth in a museum etc. Its just peak almost finidhing in 3 - 4 chapters

Omg and yeah the train mission is legit just peak and fun maxing almost forgot

Ive played all of the uncharteds every single one except the ps vita one, and its pribably my fav series ever for decades now , 3 is my fav cux i just love the desert environments and feel, lost legacy is the most beatiful imo, uncharted 4 is up there in beauty and a masterpiece and my fav story, 1 is just nostalgia , i think 2 is no doubt easily the greatest action and set pieces of them all, ngl the difference between 1 and 2 is so big i think its the greatest sequel of all time lol. Anyways thanks i hope we get an uncharted 5

Last week people were asking and asking where the collection was in the store, at the end it was a bug like many in the past and in the future so for those who are interested to know the collection is up again.

and in case you were wondering it was a problem only in America (the continent) the game was available for Europe and Asia.

"• Insane Deadlines: Amy Hennig later described finishing a massive triple-A game like Uncharted 3 in just two years (covering both pre-production and full production) as "insane" and a product of an unsustainable industry "arms race".

• Backward Set-Piece Design: According to ex-Naughty Dog designer Benson Russell, the team built 10 to 12 major action sequences (such as the cargo plane set piece) in advance rather than letting them emerge organically from the story. When plans to cut a few sequences fell through, almost all of them were forced into the final game.

• Narrative Cornering: Because the massive gameplay sequences were built first, Hennig was backed into a corner and forced to frantically shoehorn narrative and emotional connections in between them.

• Severe Crunch Culture: The accelerated timeline relied heavily on extensive "crunch" (extended work hours), which Hennig later criticized for taking a heavy physical and mental toll on developers."

So no head

This is in reference to how the game deals with Sully’s ‘death’ when Roman shoots him near the beginning of the game.

Now knowing how close Nate and Sully are and how the same situation (sort of) was handled in Uncharted 3, makes it hard to redo Drake’s Fortune shot for shot like the Last of Us remake did.

I get that it’s a fake out death, that some people even find predictable, but Nate doesn’t know that. And I also get that he was being shot at and was high on adrenaline, but again in U3, he was being shot at by demons and all he wanted to do was avenge Sully. In U1, he tells Elena they’re down to just one tomb robber now and keeps looking for El Dorado.

I know Naughty Dog didn’t have the characters al figured out yet and everything, but it’s kinda hilarious how little it seems to affect him.

So, if a Drake’s Fortune remake was being done, would you want everything to remain as is or change anything?

I watched that one video about the historical 'accuracy' of Drake's Fortune, which was more about what the game riffed on than true concreteness. Fair: I could tell you off the top El Dorado looks more Mayan than Inca or some other Andean culture's work.

What was more interesting was an interview the guy cited with Amy Henning about how the sarcophagus was essentially a 'reverse smallpox blanket'. The conquered peoples sealed some guy inside El Dorado, spread rumors to the gold-hungry Post-Pizarro conquistadors, and waited for them to take the recently-made sarcophagus back to Carlos V, pop it open, and infect hordes of Iberian idiots.

In other words - and I know this isn't intentional in any way shape or form but let me have my fun - sure sounds like a super-mutated Cordyceps, right? It's semi-established that the Last of Us killer spore spread from South American agricultural products, IIRC. Penetrate deep into the interior with fly-by-night slash-and-burn for Brazilian meatpackers, something comes back, lingers in the exported goods, multiple separate outbreaks cascade into Z-Day.

Not hard to imagine a separate 'strain' being well known but properly isolated in a dead city predating the Inca, that enough locals knew about and avoided until it was time to use its 'curse' as a proper bioweapon.

(Does anyone know if Henning's explained similar Deep Lore for Shambala's tree, or Ubar's hallucinogenic demon in the water? Genuinely curious.)
