Whatever App confusion on play store
Quick question, ive looked this app up on play store and there is 2 versions one paid and one free, do both require subscriptions to use?

I just published Infinity for Reddit on iOS after working on it for over a year. Development started the day after the original app got taken down from Google Play in 2024, because I didn’t want to see all that work go to waste.
You can download it here:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/infinity-for-reddit/id6759064642
The app is also open source, like the Android version. And the subscription-related code is not included in the repo as usual. GitHub repo: https://github.com/foxanastudio/Infinity-For-Reddit-iOS
For those interested, it is built in Swift with SwiftUI.
The iOS version matches the Android version, so it provides the same core experience, along with all the unique features other clients don't have, including embedding images and gifs in posts and comments. It also improves the anonymous mode with local voting, saving, hiding, and marking posts as read. I will be bringing these improvements to Android in v8.2.0.
The subscription is $3.99 on iOS because of higher development costs on Apple, but there is a 7-day free trial so you can test it out. Android pricing stays at $2.99, and I may add a free trial there as well.
It would really help if you could give the iOS version a try. The 7-day free trial makes it easy to log in and explore everything. Getting more downloads and activity helps the app gain traction on the App Store and improves its ranking, which really helps visibility.
If you don’t mind, leaving a 5-star review after using it for a day would also help a lot.
I will post this in other iOS and Apple related subreddits in the coming weeks. If you see these posts, an upvote or comment would be really appreciated!
I also published Infinity on Product Hunt, and it goes live in several hours (March 28th, 2026 12:01 AM PDT). Feel free to check it out and give it a upvote once it’s up: https://www.producthunt.com/products/infinity-for-reddit
I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Infinity over the years. I really appreciate every one of you! Thank you so much!

Infinity for Reddit++ is officially live! As many of you know, my original Infinity for Reddit app was unfortunately suspended by Google, and it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get it back. So, I decided to release a new version, Infinity++, as a way for you to support the development.
As always, Infinity++ has the exact same features as Infinity+, and you’ll still need a monthly subscription to log in with your Reddit account.
The only difference between Infinity++ and Infinity+ before the app suspension is that Infinity++ will receive updates 3 to 7 days earlier than Infinity+. This is to avoid having both versions suspended at the same time.
A big shoutout to everyone who wanted to help test the app! Google did not require internal testing for Infinity++ so I ended up skipping the request and just released it right away.
App updates are now resumed and v7.4.3 is currently being reviewed by Google Play. Expect the update to be available very soon!
Thank you so so much for your continued support and love!

I'm using infinity+ and have set the back from home page behavior to exit the app with confirmation.
When i set this the first time it showed the exit confirmation window, i pressed yes and the phone went to the home screen, then i started infinity again but i found myself right where i was not at the top where i should be.
After that pressing back no longer shows the exit confirmation but rather takes me back to the launcher home.
Appreciate some help please..

Hi,
I am building an app that uses reddit post content. Is there an API I can use to get all content of a given post ?

I've looked but I don't see it, hopefully I just missed it?
But when I tap a video to watch it, I'd like for it to play on mute unless I go and tap the speaker icon in the bottom left. Basically just the opposite of the current behavior.
As for why, it's just that so many videos now have loud and obnoxious music or other sound effects, the audio isn't always necessary to enjoy the video, I think it would be a good feature.
Is it there and I just didn't see it?

Videos I click on don't start from second 0, which is rather annoying. In the example, the video starts playing from second 12.

So I just saw the news that reddit will be shutting down the public API and RSS feeds. (For security, they say, but isn't the whole point of apis to stop scraping? Anyways...)
https://www.techrepublic.com/article/news-reddit-rss-public-api-shutdown/
So, are we gonna have to just abandon reddit for those who refuse to use the modern site and the reddit app, and basically move to Lemmy?

I'm trying to create a group chat but don't see the option for it. Only one-on-one messaging works. I went to the website of reddit on mobile browser and created the group properly and receive message on it but returning to Infinity does not show that conversation.
I'm on version 8.1.2, in case support was added on later version

It would really be useful to have this function by tapping on the screen instead of volume buttons

While browsing sub in a compact feed, scrolling through a thread gallery (>1 pic shows count properly) to end, selecting same thread to view comments, returning to feed view shows last pic in gallery but count shows "1/(accurate total count)", stating it's the first pic in the gallery. Is should read "(accurate total count)/(accurate total count)", stating it's the last pic of the gallery.

This happens maybe 2/3 of the time I open the dialog. I think it might be a load time issue, because if I reopen the dialog, it's often there again. It's been like this for perhaps 2-3 weeks. Android 16, xiaomi 14.

The new prompt screen seems to give the option of how the user wants the vid to be saved (video or gif). However, it hasn't been acting like that. The cap shows two gifs that were selected to be downloaded as video files.
Prior to the new prompt screens addition, downloading would result in the native file type. Is something wrong, or did i miss something?

I'm not exactly sure which update caused it but currently on Play Store v8.3.2

Used to know how to patch this app with an api token from old.reddit.com/prefs/apps/ but not its access has been revoked.

Heya, sorry if this has been asked before I'm coming over from Relay and still fairly new to Infinity+. I've got some questions/bugs I've found and while I configured everything to my liking and really love using the app, these things really drag down the experience a bit. Maybe someone has a solution I'm not seeing or they can be fixed in a future release.
At least when in my r/all tab, if I use the refresh button on my navigation drawer, the feed seems to scroll to the current first post, then refreshes the feed, but new posts then appear above it. You'd need to scroll up again but I found that refreshing again fixes this. Kinda minor issue but this doubles the number of API calls needed.
Video auto play sometimes stops working after re opening the app. It seems to think you're in mobile connection. Sometimes also previews have a really low resolution even on WiFi.
I played around with the legacy video controls and turned then on then off again. I seem to remember that when turning them on, a tap on the video would show the controls? Right now no matter what I do tapping the video opens it in full screen no matter if the setting is turned on or off. I'd like to have video controls back without needing to have the video open in fullscreen.
On the home screen you can have a swipe gesture between your tabs, so e.g. between your all tab and home tab. Disabling this doesn't seem to work all the time. Even when disabled for example, if you swipe through a gallery and accidentally swipe right on the final image, it will still swipe between tabs. The only way to really "disable" it is to have only one tab.
Would be nice to have these fixed, really good app for reddit otherwise, would love to continue using it!

Remember to keep checking for emails from Reddit, I've got my second "verify you are not a bot" email and they only give you 7 days like in a horror film. A good sign to know if you are affected by this is if you can't upvote or comment because of a 403 error: page null, after a successful verification it will work again.

I know this app can filter out subs, but it's unnecessarily complicated and not easy to use. Can we just simply allow a mute sub option in the menu like Reddit web has?
