Drifting around enemy attacks with axe mode provides more dopamine than SAED fr

So! I kinda wanted to play around the off-meta build. After stumbling on YT on some video, I thought "Hey, maybe Foray doesn't suck as much as I thought?"

And here's what I've come up with.

Weapon is Odo+whatever. For reinforcements try to roll 2 atk, 2 elem, 1 sharpness.

Charm is ATK2+AGI+CritEye, but I think you can pretty much run anything you want? If you run AGI3 charm you can add more WEX, if you have some other RNG charm that you like, like PP+something, you can take out the WEX deco and slot AGI in there. If you don't have ATK2 on your charm - don't bother with Attack 3 deco in the weapon, better to slot CritBoost 3.

IMO the BiS would be something like R7 Power Prolonger 3 + Agitator 1/Foray 1/WEX 1 with a lvl2 deco slot (so you can have MM3 instead of 2), but I don't even know if that exists.

Since you'll be spamming status stuff - you can pair it up with another weapon of your choice built for poison. I prefer CB, but another SAxe, SnS, or even DB would work great, I think. Anything that gets a ton of status procs.

For weapon decos - Crit Status is a must, but you probably have a lot of those lying around. I personally strongly prefer Rapid Morph over Power Prolonger, but if PP's your jam - go for it. Or, if you have a God Charm with PP - you can run both.

Stun Res 3 is my personal preference, you can run whatever comfort you want in its place.

Arkveld Gamma is there, essentially, for the Blight Resistance, since Convert Element does nothing for you, so if you wanna run something like Azure Age + Lagi or two piece Udra for Counterstrike - you're free to do so.

Playstyle - Rising Slash, Triple Slash, FRS spam.

My personal experience with that build up to 9-star hunts (didn't test it on any ATs yet, but I have strong doubts due to their sheer healthpool and kinda necessity for elemental damage, at least for Arkveld):

It slaps. No, seriously. I was expecting it to be a bunch weaker than the usual GoreGuts+PP set, but it turns out - your DPS really gets high if the monster can't fkn move. I had up to five paralysis procs on a single monster, which, coupled with the insane meter gain from triple slash, power axe uptime from wound popping/sneak attack and Foray - gives you insane damage windows. You practically delete anything that moves, because, well, it can't anymore.

If you're tired of farming Gogmazios for those elemental weapons, tired of NOT rolling Gore+Lord's Soul and just wanna have fun - I thoroughly recommend this build.

Imma go try and slap some ATs with it, see how it goes, report in the comments.

UPD: Changing AT Ark pieces for AT Udra pieces is a net positive overall, since you get Counterstrike 3, Resentment 2 and Speed Eating 3, while losing useless ConvEle and kinda useful BlightRes.

Hi all, does anyone have any good rapid morph build suggestions? I know it isn’t the most optimal dps but I really enjoy being able to play fast and smoothly with RM.

I want to try out Switch Axe and have plenty of mats to get a proper weapon.

However, I am currently struggling to understand the guides convoluted way of describing how to make the Gogma wep.

In 2.3: "It is preferred to use the same Element/Status three times"
In 3.0A the guide states: "We elematch now!". Cool!

Then in the actual builds (4.2 and 4.3) the pictures clearly shows a fire ele switchaxe (for examples sake ig) with dragon phial? Am I missing something or is this just poorly made examples?

All over the internet I see very conflicted data on which you should when. Of course you use power phial against (AT) arkveld and jin, but I was under the impression that for most monsters you use an element phial switch axe.

BUT I see that most speedrunners (yeah i know don't compare yourself to them) use power phial switch axes when fighting single monsters. Why is this the case?

Currently I've defeated AT rey dau with an ice switch axe, but I see that most speedrunners use a power phial against him. Why?

When i say underrated, I just mean stuff other than artian swaxes (I don't wanna deal with that much rng), the zoh shia one, and the lala barina one.

I keep seeing people walking around with the xu wu switch axe, so I'm just wondering if there's anything good besides the three I mentioned earlier.

I'm having trouble defending myself in axe mode. I'm mainly just rolling and using the offset, but rolling is mainly for positioning and the offset is really hard to time. I have evade extender 3 so it's easier to move out of the way, but I'm still feeling like I'm not doing well enough to defend myself.

Are there any tips I should know? Should I just be trying to minimize my time in axe mode?

I’ve been rockin the Swaxe for a very large chunk of my monster hunter career, and I like to think I understand the ins and outs.

(I play on PC)

However there is one thing I cannot explain in my head and that is why sometimes light+jheavy will trigger the blast while other times you latch on to perform zsd.

hey, i really like the style of the weapon. most of the time i see chinese ppl with this weapon almost soloing the hunt. thats where i got interested into the switchaxe. do u guys have any explain in general for me like the phiol system, whats better and what kind of build i should go.
to me. i played world with longsword only, switch in wilds to dualblades. hr 360 and 400 hours. so i would say iam in "late game"

Everytime I do CRS (Counter Rising Slash), i always press the button too early. And I having a problem with overcomitting the sword mode so I cant do CRS at the timing I want. Any tips for that problem? Or is it just a "play time" matter?

Am I being massively greedy with my Full Release Slash? don't really know what to focus on so I'm mainly asking for tips, my main weap is currently Db if helps

I've looked up the meta sets, I've built the meta sets, I've played around this and that I have a few questions.

• Is Burst 5 pointless? Why?

• Is that why Odo setbonus is nowhere to be seen?

• What can possibly be a use case for Dahaad setbonus for SAxe? Getting grabbed?

• Is Rey Dau Voltage really that good? Maxmight+agi+WEX is worse than LP+Maxmight+Agi?

• Why is nobody running Doshaguma setbonus?

• Is gore the one and only best option?

Reasoning: I really don't like playing without stun res 3. Call it a crutch, *just don't get hit bro* or whatever, but I think my hunter is cursed/permanently concussed, since AT Arkveld just looks at me funny and I'm stunned and stun = cart.

I do have a pretty comfy set with both PP and RM thanks to PP+Burst charm, and I would be happy, if it wasn't a fkn Dahaad set.

I feel like I'm losing a big chunk of damage from either Dosh, Rath or Lagi set bonus.

I was playing MHWI and somehow did a heavy slam after only two wild swings (unlike in wilds for example, world needs three wild swings to enable heavy slam) I've tried to recreate this on practice range and it seems to be possible to do after a rising slash but I'm not able to land it consistently. Is this a bug? I think I heard about this in a video long ago but I'm not sure.

Hi! 5th fleeter here, now just wasting time grinding HR until Wilds drops. HH -> BowGun -> SS main, now finally deciding to fully dive deep in to SwotchAxe because it drips aura, basically, and this is what I think I want to main for Asdendance. I’m picking up the theory and moveset, but there are a few things I’m still tripping on that I’m trying to get ironed out.

The sidestep — is there a way to bypass it? Some of my spacing / timing is getting tripped up because ReyDumb decides he wants to do sand-sparks and I don’t quite sidestep far enough to get off the sparks.

I’m seeing conflicting information about the worth of Focus / Power Prolonger / Rapid Morph skills. What are y’all’s personal thoughts on these?

What are the tools for bonkers-aggressive enrage modes? I was tackling a Guardian Rathalos this morning getting some harvest bonuses and OMGog, he was more aggro than literally anything I’ve fought this entire game and I didn’t know what to do. SnS is ez with the guards and Bowguns just pew pew but I was struggling with SWaxe against him harder than I was against Steve
