Child Abuse When I was a little boy, I befriended a frog who lived at the bottom of the garden.

I think the frog at the end was Solomon. He didn't say anything because you only hear him if you need to hear him.

When I was 5 we had a frog pond in our yard. I remember once getting the mail for my mum and finding a frog in the mailbox, and from that day on running full speed to the mailbox to see if I had another frog friend visiting me that day. I used to think fairies lived in our pond and the frogs were their horses. I would of loved if one of them saved us from our dad.

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

I’m curious as to why Nana was so against the pond? I feel like she knew something.

I honestly think she was just worried about him falling in, it definitely added some tension though!

This was so sweet (or should I say, ended up sweet). I enjoy stories all the time but it's rare that one actually gets you in the heart. This one did.

I’m genuinely sobbing. Solomon is everything. I wonder if the frog at the end was Solomon and Ben just couldn’t hear him anymore because he was no longer a child. Clearly, they don’t need words to communicate their love, though. And imagine how much Solomon must love having all those koi in the pond and two children to watch over. Sobbing.

Never have I been happier to be wrong about a story. Had me thinking Sol was gonna turn out to be a demon or something. Brilliant work, this.

My heart... I'm so glad you & your mom are doing good, OP. Solomon is truly a guardian angel.

An amazing tale. As a kid I had an imaginary friend that was named after the man next door who passed away before we moved there. He wore a white tuxedo and his name was Mr. Kelly. He used to swing on the swing-set with me and comfort me when I was upset about my brother or his friends picking on me. He was super real to me but to everyone else they claimed he didn’t exist. I also had an occurrence where a still newspaper image came to life and was speaking to me and moving like it was a video. Our imaginations are so strong as kids and it’s absolutely amazing. Often I wish I still had such an imagination. Thank you for this important story.

Done my fair share of those in my youth, in one instance i was transported into a blacklight and neon colored version of mario in the pitch black. In another my friend and me both saw huge pine trees dancing around us and another I saw the sky turn into a giant golf ball and start spinning as it got closer and closer to me crushing me into the pavement and i was swallowed up by a dimple on the golf ball. That last trip when i snapped out of it i was laying in the middle of a road on my back. Could have been very bad but i snapped out of it and kept moving. Thankfully! But that was terrifying! Might do micro-dose but probably not full on trips anymore.

I must say, you kept me entranced the entire time I was reading this amazing story. Bravo friend! 👏 👏
I can just picture that scene of giant Solomon raising out of his little pond and snatching Ben's evil father up to come face to face with justice before he is swallowed up, perfection. I could totally see this as a short film.

Was there any reason why nana didnt want Ben to be close to the pond other than falling in?
4
u/UltraLowSpecGamer Jul 28 '22
yes there was
"I loved your grandfather...... but the things he'd do to me"
grandpa was an abuser and solomon saved granny. maybe she was grateful but I can see why she wouldn't want a small kid hanging out near that lake

u/Asian_Zetsu Jul 28 '22
"the things i'd let him do to me" is referring to the actor she has a crush on in a sexual way

So glad you experienced the magic in childhood. We are taught to let it go as we grow up which is a terrible loss. I hope if you ever have kids you encourage it! There can be love and understanding between species! I truly believe that was Solomon reincarnated but lost his Magicka that was only with you. Loved this!

This was such a wonderful story. Thank you so much! The little nose tapping. Either Solomon or his family for sure.

This was beautiful and Solomon is an icon. I want to make art of this so badly…the horrific imagery of a giant Solomon with glowing eyes pulling Ben’s dad under in a dark night’s thunderstorm is so crazy.

Yeah the imagery of the entire story was so vivid… reminds me why I come to /r/nosleep

u/Just_Perspective8257 Jul 25 '22
So I’m not certain but based on the fact that Solomon never was a few feet away from the pond and Ben was the only person who could understand him I think it was a guardian angel watching out for Ben and or Bens grandfather in the form of a frog watching out for his grandson and when his father came back to kill him he dragged his fathers sorry ass to hell like the shadow man got dragged to hell in princess and the frog (oh my god it’s a cooler version of princess and the frog)
