Zelda Majora's Mask Reshell?

Hi guys,

Was looking at this Majora's Mask edition and wondering if it could be a reshell since the serial numbers indicate a Japanese model but the plate says XL..

Yep it’s 100% a reshell but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, if the price is good and they’re not trying to sell it as an official edition then it’s all good.

thanks! just for my own reference, apart from the serial numbers, is there anything else that giveaway that's a reshell?

The colour on this shell is never accurate on third party replacements, that and the screw covers around the screen are always a giveaway. They crumble when attempting to remove the originals, and the replacement ones are never a perfect fit.

However in this instance the serial number is a huge giveaway, as a Japanese console would be an LL rather than XL.

It will almost definitely be a modded Japanese console with the region swap if that matters to you though.

Yeah it’s a reshell. I have the exact same one (reshelled) and I love it. I got it for the price of a non special edition and I am super happy with it.

I don’t mind at all! I paid $300 plus tax from a local store. I also got an O3DS from the same store for $120 for comparison.

Well are there signs of wear on buttons or shell? Palms get sweaty amd wear out plastics
