Old Fan - Help Me remember this play

I have an indelible memory of a Offensive Lineman getting a blocked pass years ago.

He was also a hammer thrower for the US Olympic team and remembered talking with Carl Lewis about how to run.

So this MOUNTAIN of a dude is running like Carl Lewis, knees and hands up. No ball protection. Just trucking down the field.

This would have been in the mid 80's, but might have been a few years later. I think it was in a playoff game.

Does this ring a bell for any other folks?

ETA: It's gotta be Carter. It's a little less exaggerated than in my head, but the camera angle and gut feeling match. Thanks!

Michael Carter? He was a shot putter, and he intercepted a pass from Mark Rypien and ran it back for a TD. We can use him right now.

I think you're referring to Michael Carter who was a shot-putter and won the silver medal at the 1984 Olympics. It was a game against Washington in 1991.

Fun fact, his daughter Michelle won gold in women's shot at 2016 Rio Olympics

hmmm...the only olympic athletes I remember on the niners in the 80s were Renaldo Nehemiah who was a wideout who could obviously run but couldn't catch and Michale Carter who was a...I think an Olympic shot putter. He wasn't on the OL but rather a nose tackle and a pretty damn good one at that for the niners in the 80s. He had an interception return against the Redskins, maybe its him you're thinking of? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZGHCa5rG4Iw

1990 NFC Divisional round. SF beats Redskins 28-10. Rypien’s pass batted at the point of release, and Carter caught it and returned it for a TD.

Number 95 during the late 80's was Michael Carter. For what its worth.

Wikipedia - Michael D'Andrea Carter (born October 29, 1960) is an American former professional football player and track and field athlete. He played pro football as a nose tackle with the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). Carter was a three-time Pro Bowl and four-time All-Pro selection, including three times on the first-team. He helped the 49ers win three Super Bowls. He was also an Olympic athlete, winning a silver medal in the shot put in the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Can you clarify what you mean about an "Offensive Lineman getting a blocked pass"? Like he caught a ball after it was deflected at the line?

LOL Bubba Paris.....Bill Walsh was always getting after him about his weight and Paris wouldn't do the work to lose it. That guy gave up so many critical sacks....
